I will say this, there is no more excuse. Can't blame Jalen now. If Sengun can't beat one on one defense, ALLLLLLLLLLL that blame goes on him now.
I mean as of right now I think there's a viable excuse. Rockets perimeter scoring is gonna be dependent on who? Fred and Amen? KD as well.

#NBA TRADE

#Rockets Acquire
Kevin Durant: 1 yr, $54.7M

#Suns Acquire
Dillon Brooks: 2 yrs, $41.1M
Jalen Green: 2 yrs, $69.3M + $36M Player Option (2027-28)
2025 1st Rd (#10)
Five 2nd Rd picks

Didn't know Durant was on a 1 year deal. Well damn.....his market was limited then. Teams wasn't trading much for a one year rental.

Nah man. Rockets fans been heaping all the shit on Jalen. Like the Warriors entire strategy was to let Sengun shoot as much as he wants. Not a single Rockets fan gave him shit for not winning agains on one coverage.

Now they can't blame anyone else.

And when KD misses time which he does every year... :itsawrap:

I like Jabari for me he is why I wouldn't have even traded for KD. Jabari just need time to develop.
I understand what you mean but the rockets don't want to rebuild nor wait on a young player to develop and not all teams are good at developing players..

I feel this assessment! I need to see more improvement from their young players and will KD stay healthy…

I think this trade was done in mind to give Amen the keys to the team. The Rockets value Amen highest on the team. Rockets said Amen was untouchable when their were talks of them trying to get Giannis.

This isn't going to be KD being the 1A on the team imo. I think Amen is going to be the lead dog and KD will be that that bucket getter/release valve.

They can’t trade him because of his no trade clause lol lol
Yeah but he can waive that with no problem. Russell Wilson had a no trade clause and waived it. Beal can waive it but you lose some leverage. If they offered a team the 10th overall pick and Beal for some trash someone would jump I think. Or maybe some future 1sts. Its not gonna be great but at least you get SOMETHING and don't cut him and still have him count against your cap.

He’s gonna sign an extension with the rockets
Maybe with the Rockets but i'm saying a team wasn't gonna trade much for him without knowing if he was committed to more years. And to be honest at his age and recent injury history i'm not even sure if i'd sign him long term until I see he can play for the majority of the season.

They obviously had a chance if it came down to them and Houston
I mean Miami never gotten these big names lately because they refuse to make a deal work by keeping certain players..I don't even think Miami is serious about being a contender, they might as well rebuild, they lost out on getting dame and KD.

They tried to get him to waive it last year and he wouldn’t! So yea unless he has a change of heart..

This trade helps Sengun with teams not worrying about the Rockets as a shooting threat in the past. I agree, Sengun has to step up but I have way more confidence in him than I did with Jalen.

The Blazers wouldn't even negotiate with miami because their feelings were hurt because dame demanded miami
Miami tried to get jru from Portland too but they were acting like some hoes

I mean they don't have a choice now they are now reliant on the development of Amen and Jabari. Sengun I think is fine but I think they are hoping he too continues to develop.

I'm not saying this is the Rockets but i've seen these teams do this before where they try and speed up the process....Thunder and Pacers were patient....I was hoping Rockets and Magic do the same but Magic didn't really mess with their core. That's what I was hoping Rockets did. Add a guy and not change the makeup of their team. Bane is gonna fit right in with the Magic and what they want to do. Rockets gonna have to change some things to make this KD shit work.

You missed the part about other draft assets
Just rebuild, y'all not getting these big names lately but think people want to take a shitty deal from the heat.

Yet, you're being fooled to think the heat are contenders when they aren't..Haven't rebound since trading butler..

Dame and KD had Miami on their list but the heat never could beat out teams that had a better deal..

They just traded bulter a few months ago lol
Are they supposed to instantly be a contender again?

They tried to send him to the Bulls. That's what i'm saying they can't try and get over on him because he has that clause. But if there's a team that's willing to take on his contract and a 1st that's a solid team I think he will waive it. But trying to send him to the gutter of the NBA like the Kings or Chicago or Hornets or some shit......don't think that's gonna happen.
