Ed's platform was a launching pad for a lot of great female talent. But other than Jake, he didn't really bring male talent to the fore. I know a lot of weirdos round here get really upset and freak out if you mention male pornstars, but they were essential to the development of the Black porn industry.

Also, Ed didn't have swag. I think the movies that TT (and even Woodburn) made, as well as the other great Black producers of the time of course... they brought a certain sense of style to their productions that made them feel very different from what was in the mainstream. His Black Debutantes was probably the first series specifically dedicated to featuring Black women if I'm not mistaken. You definitely need a place in the market for consumers to specifically choose Black women so there can be an industry.
