Movie News: Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan - SINNERS - jim crow era vampire flick (SPOILERS OPEN!!!)

Went to the theater to buy a ticket to see Sinners again. I wasn't going to watch it, just using my free regal ticket And they told me that every not new movie was removed so they can play Thunderbolts and every theater

The theater was damn near empty.

I told her that this was the number one movie two weeks in a row, and she said, "yeah, I know. It came from above my head."

I don't think Thunderbolts is going to do well at all, and I predict they are going to remove Thunderbolts from IMAX to put Sinners back because Thunderbolts is going to flop so hard

True, the hate for Grace is strong.

The ‘Sinners’ Movie Syllabus is a curated educational resource inspired by the 2025 film ‘Sinners,’ directed by Ryan Coogler. This syllabus delves into the multifaceted historical, cultural, and social contexts depicted in the film, providing audiences with a deeper understanding of its layered narratives. Set in Mississippi in 1932, ‘Sinners’ explores themes such as racial violence, spiritual traditions, Black speculative fiction, and the complexities of African American life during the Jim Crow era.

Drawing inspiration from the #CharlestonSyllabus—a crowdsourced educational resource that emerged in response to the 2015 Charleston church shooting—the ‘Sinners’ Movie Syllabus seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural contexts of the film. By examining these elements through scholarly and popular resources, the syllabus will enrich the viewing experience and foster critical discussions.

Coogler and me told yall once thunderbolts drops those IMAX screens were going to be gone. And then Mission Impossible, Superman and Fantastic Four and Elio. That was decided a long time ago and nothing was going to change that.

And it was actually smart to use that during the promo run because it made people go crazy and demand to pay that premium price to see Sinners, which also helped the box office.

It is also giving this movie a very unique run where every time you RE RELEASE IT?

Numbers.

That is an incredibly rare and valuable ability. Especially for venues that have the 70mm film non imax versions like Alamo. In 2025? This is legendary that's why you see so many studios and media outlets hating.

This was a brilliantly done marketing and promotion run. Studios NEED to take notes. Coogler showing them the new blueprint which really ain't new.

Good movie, good hook, good word of mouth, good promo run.

*Thunderbolts will be fine.

They actually saying thunderbolts might be 1 of the better marvel movies on awhile and 1 of the darkest

I saw a screening of Thunderbolts yesterday. Its not that dark. Its a PSA for mental health awareness but it was pretty good.
Its Florence Pugh's movie but David Harbour killed it. Dude was stealing scenes left and right.
Hannah John-Kamen can get it. Period. Fuck what y'all say.
Geraldine Viswhateverinthefuck was really good in "You're Cordially Invited" but she really didn't have enough lines in this movie. Too many big stars, I guess.
I'd like to see Lewis Pullman do more comedy. I didn't really like the way he played Bob.
He's not his dad. He's got potential, though.
I think Tina Fey would have been better casting than Julia Louise Dreyfus but it is what it is.
This movie delves a lot into depression and mental health and it showed a lot of connection between the characters.

Honestly, I'd rather they keep Sinners in IMAX but Thunderbolts is a big movie. Sentry is the definition of OP but that's good. They said Captain Marvel would be the most powerful in the MCU but he would fuck CM up. All-in-all, its worth a watch.

I visited an IMAX theater to watch Sinners for $6.00 during the daytime matinee. Initially, I planned to purchase my ticket online, but the seating chart indicated that the theater was approximately 45% full. Therefore, I decided to wait until I reached the theater. However, upon arriving to purchase the ticket, the kiosk informed me that the movie was 95% full. Surprisingly, once I entered the theater and the movie started, the actual attendance was only around 40%. I don’t know what’s going on with these numbers.

I cannot get into that here. But I can confirm that theatres do block off seats as reserved when they are not.

Something else And that shows that Ryan Coogler is top notch on attention to detail. Dog tags have been the rounded rectangle-shaped since world war II, but in world war I, the dog tags were circle. Both brothers have on circle dog tags.

That's something that most people wouldn't have noticed, but I remember seeing it probably on my third watch. Pretty good attention to detail on the period

The fat dude was gonna eventually use the bathroom so the vampires would’ve got him and the old dude would’ve let him back in the club… people would’ve eventually walked to their car b4 the sun came out and the vampires would’ve got them, than they would’ve fronted and said hey can you let me back in the club I forgot something and the vamps would’ve got everybody.. no win situation

I hope they're not playing numbers games making it impossible for people to watch the movie by doing some computer shit.

I remember in 92 when my uncle Craig took us to see Malcolm X. They 'accidentally' gave us tickets to another movie that started around the same time and said it was their mistake just go into Malcolm X, and my uncle said Hell no. We're not leaving here until the ticket that you give us same Malcolm X.

My uncle was not a small dude and somebody behind us said something, Uncle Craig turned around and that motherfucker got quiet.

They got a manager who fixed the ticket problem and gave us all tickets that said Malcolm X. White people be trying shit

The movie will do over 200 mill
It will, and you can help without helping. If any of you have the regal MoviePass or any type of movie pass, buy a ticket, even if you don't go go on the app and buy a ticket. I just bought a ticket to the 3:00 IMAX showing that I'm not going to. I'm laying in bed. It's a free ticket, plus $0.52.

Do that shit everyday. Every fucking day. They get off on us not using the movie pass even though we pay $20 a month, they don't get their money's worth this time because I'm doing this shit every fucking day until it's out of the theaters
