You have to pair the history of music scene with the montage of the preparation of the juke-joint together. You can’t have history without the people. If you were inclined, you can argue folks like Big Meech and other criminals are trying to recapture that energy from Mississippi. The same folks that put the spot together spent their money on the liquor at retail. Yes some paid with store credit but that’s the point. If and when the club acquired enough chips they can leverage that for something else.
Sinners has been making history for an R-rated horror film and it is right to do it! The Ryan Coogler film stars Michael B. Jordan as twins Smoke and Stack, who come back to Mississippi and open a juke. We get to see their opening night celebration taken over by vampires. The IMAX experience of the film in 70 mm is a masterclass in filmmaking and many fans want to see it again in IMAX theaters. But Marvel's Thunderbolts* is taking over those theaters now. Don't worry though, you will have a chance to see it again!

It was announced that Sinners will return to IMAX theaters in a limited release on May 15 and will run through May 21! Jeff Goldstein, President of Global Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures, said, “Audiences have spoken and we listened. If ever a film needed to be experienced in this incredible larger-than-life format, it’s Sinners. Ryan has delivered a film that has been embraced by fans who appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into creating a film for this screen-filling format and we wanted to give everyone the opportunity to see it—or see it again—in 70mm IMAX.”
The re-release will only be in select theaters. Those participating are the City Walk Stadium 19 + IMAX in Los Angeles, the Irvine Spectrum and IMAX in Irvine, Lincoln Square 13 + IMAX in New York, the Metreon 16 + IMAX in San Francisco, Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis, the Arizona Mills IMAX in Phoenix, the Autonation IMAX in Ft. Lauderdale, the Webb Chapel IMAX in Dallas, and Colossus IMAX in Toronto. Tickets are now on sale for those who want to revisit Coolger's critically acclaimed film.

Sinners has Jordan up against the acting powerhouses of Hailee Steinfeld and Wunmi Mosaku and it is captivating to watch Jordan play the Smokestack twins, especially in how Jordan plays their relationships with Mary (Steinfeld) and Annie (Mosaku). But Sinners also brings us Miles Caton, who plays Sammie in such a beautifully nuanced performance that you'll want to see the film again and again, just for him!
Coogler made something special with Sinners. The music takes you on a journey through life, history, and the draw that we all have to it and how the vampires of this world will try and take it all for themselves. So if you haven't seen Sinners yet, this re-release is the perfect time to see Coogler's masterpiece.

You don't HAVE to like this movie by any stretch of the imagination. Some of my close friends and people I RESPECT don't love this movie.
but THAT MAN lacks the qualifications essential for me to take his critique seriously.
I tried for at least a half hour to no success.
But it's cool. I already saw it in IMAX a few days ago.
All I know is...
That film better have a bangin' 4K when it's released on Physical.
