Kendrick Lamar disses Drake & J Cole on Metro Boomin & Futures Album/ Rick Ross Responds/ Kanye Responds/Kendrick Responds 4X / Drake Responds 3X

Drake definitely has a sound, I don’t know what it is or how to describe it but he definitely has a sound.

On Family Matters he rapped/sang/or whatever Drake does in three different styles.

And it was all Drake.

So my point in saying that, and why i mentioned other cities, is Drake can't (or won't) tap into a distinctly Toronto sound like Kendrick did with the West Coast sound

He didn’t…..but you think that accredited to Drake? Because Meek and Rozay had diss records to Drake that didn’t go to 1. Pusha as well and he had the killer.
Neither of them got the cult following dot got.Throw in the hate folks got for Drake. And boom.

The one good, good silver lining in this rap beef is a lot of young people are getting re-introduced to real hip-hop from Kendrick Lamar.

You said this: Toronto, unfortunately, doesn't have a sound, and they could because they've had talented rappers.

So they don't have a sound "Your words", but you'd like him to tap into a distinctly Toronto sound that they don't have?

And I was only replying to say that Drake definitely has a sound.

Yeah I’d actually agree. His sound and flow came when Quentin Miller got into the fold. He has his sound he goes to….its not a Toronto sound and to be honest I think that’s why his disses don’t sound as good as Kendrick’s. His style hits for club bangers but not for trying to kill a dude.

Drake always had a flow and a sound, I don't wanna speak about ghost writers just his sound.

And it's funny that you mention the style of his disses and you're right. Especially about "Family Matters". This is supposed to be your dagger song and you're harmonizing? :roflmao:

Mind you the song and the harmonizing's dope to me, but it's weird to use that approach in a battle.

And that's why it's Drake, it's Drake's sound.

Let's recap.
I originally said TORONTO doesn't have a sound. I followed by saying Drake's sound was Houslantadon. It's an amalgamation of all the cities he's claimed at some point.

So my points are clear: Toronto has an R&B sound. Toronto could have a hip hop sound, and perhaps they do underground, but don't have mainstream recognition like an LA or ATL and Aubrey has done nothing to facilitate that. Drake takes different city's styles: whatever is hot at the moment be it London, Houston, and/or Atlanta as Kendrick brilliantly pointed out. -FIN-

Imagine if OJ could have thugged it out just a little longer...
I would have love to hear his commentary.

I like the album too and always play it in its entirety.
The only complaint I have about that album is the song that has him arguing with the chic, I think the audio from the visuals for that song is better suited for the album, and vice versa.

Maybe he toned them down purposely for the visuals, but the audio version on the album is just so raw and emotion filled that if I'm not fully into that album at that moment I can't listen to it....

like if I'm at work and I have that playing in the background, then I start to focus on a PnL statement, some invoices, doing an RFQ, etc... when I do go back to paying attention again and THAT song is playing...? I'll instantly skip past it.

What city are these styles below from?

I just thought about the first Drake songs that popped in my head and posted them.

You appear a bit tight as if I was coming at you in a negative or hostile fashion

You're right, Drake does have songs that sound like he's from everywhere and jumps on waves from other cities.

My only point was that Drake also has a sound that's all Drake.

I'm not sure how you could've read anything I wrote and thought I was upset about something, but ok?

Drake went from Phonte, to Soulja, to Wayne, to Migos, to Future, to Wiley/Giggs, to 21, to currently Smino.

To your last sentence, we're gonna have to agree to disagree on that.

Naw that shit was the clincher. IMO, it was OT….game was tied….120 to 120 with 3 seconds left….and Dot hit a 3 pointer and got fouled and bit the free throw…..defeated lol.

Nah Kendrick won when he released “Meet the Grahams” less than 20 minutes after Drake released his 7 minute diss.

Drake not only made a song, but an entire video that was overshadowed by Kendrick’s drop in 20 minutes or less.

“Not Like Us” drop and song was like dunking from the 3-point line :roflmao:

Who does the songs that I posted sound like?

They need to get reintroduced to that Mr Morale album...

I don't care what anyone says that is my favorite Kendrick album. I hear all the negativity around it and I just do not care.

Soon as you switch people treat you strange uh
Like you worked that hard to stay the same.

He made a different style they expected damn part 2 that ain't how it works
