TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

I slept on Parks and Rec

I need to circle back to the series.

I definitely enjoyed what I saw years ago. I'd say I saw a little under 50% of the series on the whole, but there were legitimate scenes and episodes that had me LOL.

Similar to either version of The Office ... the assorted characters and personality types. The breaking of the 4th wall, etc.

Couldn't help but laugh at some of the circumstances.

4/10

This is a supernatural, thriller series based on a Stephen King novel.

I mainly watched this cuz my future ex-wife Melanie Lynskey co-stars. She was in her early 20s filming this and she looks like a senior in junior high school.

This is a 3 part miniseries with each part running about a 1.5 hrs.

The first part is character introductions and backstory of the Haunted House.

The 2nd and 3rd parts gets into the supernatural stuff. There isn’t anything knew with the plot/premise and no scares or surprises.

The series is cast with well known veteran B-List actors and B-List actors at the start of their acting career.

Like a lot of Stephen King novels, they all don’t transfer well to the live scene.

It’s pretty much predictable. Watch if you live supernatural stuff and don’t care about quality.

I watched it on Hulu, it’s the only place streaming. On regular Hulu they have it loaded down with 7 commercial breaks which is odd. Normally 90 minute stuff has 3 commercial breaks in the first 45 minutes. They normally overload content with commercials if they know people will be watching because of a upcoming sequel.

One of my personal favorites from King ... Silver Bullet.

Watched the first 2 (of 3) episodes so far.

Pretty good. Like the big budget feel of it all being on Apple+ ... glanced at Wiki and the budget was 250M.

Didn't recognize much of the cast aside from Barry Keoghan, Austin Butler, and Isabel May (only in it briefly so far - people will recognize her from Young Sheldon and her acting / narration from the series, 1883).

The injuries / deaths right off the bat in the first 2 eps amplified the seriousness of war. The close calls and near misses in the air, etc.

This show co-produced by Rebellion(owners of the 2000AD/Judge Dredd comics)

I know Ron Howard been working on this for YEARS.

And they did Band of Brothers so I got faith.

Mentioned it to a coworker who's a big war / history buff.

Band of Brothers is one of his personal faves.

He said he's in for this series & thought the first 2 eps were pretty good. Keeping in mind we're being introduced to a number of characters and getting a feel for who's who.
