If you are looking to by aTesla, they are going for a bargain these days. The model S is a car bargain for a performance EV car.

TESLA
  • The Tesla Model S and Model X's base prices have dropped by $10,000 due to new Standard Range models.
  • The Model S now starts at $79,880, but its EPA-estimated range is 320 miles compared with the pricier 405-mile model.
  • The Model X now starts at $89,880, but its EPA-estimated range is 269 miles versus the more expensive version, which has a 348-mile estimate.
The price of new Teslas has been up and down and moving all around. Over the past year or so, the company has adjusted the cost of its four models myriad times, and now the Model S and Model X can be had for $10,000 less than last week following the introduction of new Standard Range models.

Toyota bout to drop those solid slate battery powered EVs in the next few seasons. Musk knows it and his team will be liquidating those current models as fast as legally possible. Those not in the know of battery tech will jump all over this "deal". Myself (on the other hand will be patient).

I'll think about it if and when they build more charging stations in the city.

Right now I'm hunting for another BMW.
Are you able to charge at home? If you can connect a 240 v outlet to your garage, you never have to charge in the city or at a public charger except when you travel.

Is he not making his own solid state batteries? If not, thats pretty arrogant and stupid of him.

Yeah, I knew this day was coming and it came fast. Other car companies are making decent electric cars especially Kia, but Toyota is about to change the fucking game. Tesla lost focus years ago because of Elon dumb ass. Don’t be surprise he sells Tesla in a few years because right now he’s just using it as his personal piggy bank.

About to get a Mazda CX-90 Hybrid SUV - Its like 56 MPG.... It's like 25 miles for a full charge which is perfect from my store to the crib.

I just could not go full electric, and then with Tesla I just couldn't bring myself to give my money to that brand.

Any other Electric or Hybrid SUV's worth looking at?

Yea I cant justify spending that kind of money on a whip, unless the return offsets that, if you feel me. Ive seen a couple of these though they look ILL.

Yeah I 100% agree. The ceo said he knows this and they are working on a cheaper suv model.

FYI - I haven’t seen a lot of the suvs in the Charlotte area but man the pick up trucks are everywhere

Yea I saw a couple here in Jax, and I had to do a double take. I continue to see the disparity in economics grow. This SUV will be my most expensive vehicle, and I really do HATE it, but I drive a lot and I see the value in paying more I mean 50k plus for top of the line.

To see so many Teslas around, at the same time the gig economy is exploding, its only a matter of time before if you have alittle bit you will need to make sure you have some measure of security. We see it now with the smash and grabs.

Anyways good looking

Yes expensive but many of SUV's we currently on the roads cost as much or more.

But one day they'll start making electric SUV's for the poor

Yup. Wifey has a mercedes and I am a nissan bro 100% so never been big on cars. I took her joint to the dealership about 2 months ago and sat in that AMG SUV that was going for 100K, but I was like got damn....I couldn't pay that much, but I empathize for those who do.

FAM I was looking at the dude like wait its how much.... I always lease too to use the benefits via my biz but it's outrageous.

Yeah man car prices in general are definitely outrageous. A top of the line Ford Explorer is 60k.

60k for a fucking Ford Explorer! :rolleyes2: Not saying that it's not nice, but 60k? And that's just one example.

The Escalades that we see all the time are close to 100k or more and most don't realize it.

But yes the Rivian is expensive, but they're priced against the Tesla Model X being that it's technically the standard and they're going by that.

Plus they're not making as many cars as bigger companies so they have to pass on those prices to us.

Don't empathize for those that pay 100k for a car! They wanted it, they can afford it so the bought it!

And it's good that you're not big on cars because it saves you a lot of time and money.

Dogs I thought I was saying something when I gave dude my standard line, 'Yo there are 100 dealerships on this strip someone will take my money'. Went to Benz, Alfa Romeo (They have a new hybrid SUV), Audi (WILD SMALL ONE was 90k), I went to these places cause I was like surely with 55k on the hip to spend I can get something. Came back like ummm you thinking could yall throw in free cup holders for me. Or give me a free tank of gas lol.

If the Model 3 can drop to $25K, I’ll buy another one. I’ll even take a Model Y at $28K. Other than that: he can go fuck himself.

Quantumscape and Prime Planet Energy & Solutions Inc are frontrunning the development and being funded by Toyota and Volkswagon. Although he could afford it, Elon has his hands in too many things to worry about battery development, so he purchased a company that develops his current lithium batteries and the mining company that harvests the raw materials.

55k is a good amount to spend on a car, but unfortunately most likely not enough to get a car that you really want.

Yep. Well I was /am looking for Hybrid SUV.... I havent really gotten what I wanted since I was a young whipper snapper, just doesnt add value to anything tangible for me, Im always reminded of that looking at the price tags lol

Edit: @REDLINE even then I was delivering Pizzas in a J30 with Peanut butter leather... It's why I haven't had a car I really wanted since then.

LMAO @ $80K being a bargain.... FOH
I meant that relatively. It is also a bargain when compared to used BMWs , jaguars , benzes etc that cost $50k, because you no loner have to pay for gas or maintenance. I now drive an Ev car and I know this.

Even if he is, doesn't that still belie the point of this being a great deal? If the tech is being supplanted replacement parts will quickly rise to a premium as the manufacturing process is converted?

I read in here elon owns the lithium mine Nd the battery lab.... yeah he is going to do everything in his power to slow roll changes

Its absurd what people spend in this country.

Lowest you can get on a Tesla in-house financing option right now is 5%. With a 10k downpayment thats over a grand a month for 5 years. It would take a downpayment of 30k to get 60 months beneath 1 thousand.
It’s actually more than that currently a 60k car with inflation rates are around $1000 a month. Cars are an absolute waste of money. I’m done buying new cars myself. After 2 years you’re over the car and it loses its luster and you realize it’s just an appliance to get you around. Spending crazy money on a car is just stupid

What EV did you get?

What EV did you get?
Also, EV life is very liberating. I know I used to make fun of Papi some years ago and I used to talk bout wanting a V12 but now that I don't spend $550/month on gas and no oil changes, belt changes, no catalytic converter etc...I am all EV from now on.
Also, no emissions inspection and you can ride in an HOV lane alone in the car.
You fill up in your own garage at night and you're ready to go in the morning. Fill up at my house cost $2.50 and I am good for 2 days. Or I can do fast charging for free at Electrify America stations at walmart which takes 30 minutes.
