Tesla Models S and Y drop price by $10,000 Again.

Also, EV life is very liberating. I know I used to make fun of Papi some years ago and I used to talk bout wanting a V12 but now that I don't spend $550/month on gas and no oil changes, belt changes, no catalytic converter etc...I am all EV from now on.
Also, no emissions inspection and you can ride in an HOV lane alone in the car.
You fill up in your own garage at night and you're ready to go in the morning. Fill up at my house cost $2.50 and I am good for 2 days. Or I can do fast charging for free at Electrify America stations at walmart which takes 30 minutes.
Ah man..... See this is why I dont need to be in this thread lol. I also remember that thread I was in there talking about getting a Tesla back then...

You have the SUV hybrid or the Car?

I actually recall that thread you was def a hardliner. Thats dope man. I feel like maybe I shouldn't even think about going to the Porsche dealership.... But Im gonna go anyway lol. Did you contemplate going hybrid? What pushed you to go all EV?
The full EV sedan. A loaded Taycan 4S with 5 year Porsche warranty. This is my first time without a bmw in 28 years.

I had been looking at Porsches EVs but not seriously. Then I rented one from Turo and really loved the idea of charging my car in my garage and never having to buy gas again, considering that I drive 76 miles a day. So, I saw a nice one year old CPO in June but price was high. They kept dropping the price and took it off the ad and I thought it had been sold. Then it reappears again at a much lower price and I bought it on the spot. They sweetened the deal by giving me an extra year warranty for just $1500 more thus making it a 5 year unlimited mileage Porsche warranty. I trucked it down from Boston at my expense but it was ok.

‘I sold my bmw 750 to the first guy that came to look at it at my full asking price. That’s why I always buy only loaded used cars with every almost option .

Toyota bout to drop those solid slate battery powered EVs in the next few seasons. Musk knows it and his team will be liquidating those current models as fast as legally possible. Those not in the know of battery tech will jump all over this "deal". Myself (on the other hand will be patient).
If I’m not mistaken the US is less than 8% of the EV market. You do realize that China owns 60% of the EV market. They’re expecting 9 million EVs to be sold in China this year. And what percentage of that do you think Toyota, General Motors, Ford, and Lucid have?

BYD (002594.SZ), which overtook Tesla by global sales volume last year and has a market value well over $100 billion, offers more than 60 different versions of EV and plug-in hybrid cars. Much smaller but ambitious peer Nio (9866.HK) has gone from two models to six over the same period and plans to launch five more this year.

Congrats to my Brotha Jagu lol I’m in shock honestly but Porsche is always the progression from BMW. I want that Audi E Tron GT
Thank you sir. I really thought about the Audi and it is super nice. It’s basically the Porsche for less price but I had always been curious about Porsches so I decided to go that way. So far I like it and it is basically a 911 with 4 doors but slightly heavier. I got the performance package with Porsche torque vectoring , 4 wheel steering, and dynamic chassis control, head up display, thermal insulated glass, premium package with Bose stereo and a whole lot of stuff. Sticker price was $147k got it for less than 60% of that with only 12k miles and it’s a 2022. I was shocked that it was still available for sale when I called for it.
The thing has two modes, go and stop, no middle mode lol. And let me tell you, the attention that it gets is almost like you’re driving a Ferrari Or some shit like that.

I was interested in the Tesla S too and I really thought about it but I can’t do vegan leather interior.

Yep. I told y'all the japanese would wait and watch and drop a reliable EV at half the cost of tesla. The other makers are doing exactly what their DNA says - germans are making lux performance and Italians are making gorgeous coaches, Americans are making gaudy-looking shit that will fall apart in 2 years.

Is he not making his own solid state batteries? If not, thats pretty arrogant and stupid of him.

When will people remember that conman musk has NOTHING to do with the technical aspects of tesla?

I don’t follow him that hard , I’m just interested in his stocks.

If you are looking to by aTesla, they are going for a bargain these days. The model S is a car bargain for a performance EV car.

TESLA
  • The Tesla Model S and Model X's base prices have dropped by $10,000 due to new Standard Range models.
  • The Model S now starts at $79,880, but its EPA-estimated range is 320 miles compared with the pricier 405-mile model.
  • The Model X now starts at $89,880, but its EPA-estimated range is 269 miles versus the more expensive version, which has a 348-mile estimate.
The price of new Teslas has been up and down and moving all around. Over the past year or so, the company has adjusted the cost of its four models myriad times, and now the Model S and Model X can be had for $10,000 less than last week following the introduction of new Standard Range models.

This is all for naught,

Rivian, Lucid, Ford, Toyota, Polestar .....etc

Got their knees on Tesla's neck.

The supercharger network is currently the only advantage Tesla has over the others......

The Model S has been damn near the same car for 20 years, no vast improvements in range, exterior nor interior design.....

So now they drop the low end price by $10K?!!

What’s funny? I’m self employed and very good at what I do. Do you think I’ve been sitting down on my ass for the past 22 years since I’ve been in practice? I bought a more expensive car in cash.

Tesla Plaid prices are now close to what it should have been. Now, if they start putting real leather in the cars I might consider it.

The lucid pure is getting great reviews, has better range and a fresh design....... Tesla now has to compete and I doubt Elon is really focused on it
......

Spending $X millions to retool factories and update the designs
.....

He's got his hands full turning X into a raging dumpster fire

Lol Tesla is having a fire sale instead of developing their stake cars. It was a good company that just tasted itself too much.

I would avoid Teslas like the plague at the moment.

So the reason you're seeing a lot of these price drops is because Tesla is now having to compete with actual car makers putting EV cars out on the market. The one thing that Ford and BMW and a lot of these other car makers know how to do is to make a quality car. If you look Tesla cars always have problems when it comes to the fit and finish. Crooked doors, squeaky dash, sunroof that leak, Tesla has always had these problems. And now it's been coming out how Tesla has been pushing people to not bring in their car for servicing because people thought they had a bad battery but what it really was was Tesla has been lying about the battery range in their cars for years. Between that and the fact that you had to sign an NDA to get your car repaired at Tesla tells you that they've been hiding a lot of the problems with that car.

Also all the racism at the Tesla plants there's no way I could give my money to a company that knew about that happening and let it continue.

Yep. Its a company that embodied that moron Elon and thought its shit didn't stink. Now all the info coming out about the cars being badly built AND Tesla has been faking their milage numbers is a real problem.

That’s why I sold some of my Tesla stocks to buy the Porsche. I wish I had sold them all 4 years ago, but I’m still good now.
‘Their cars are still good buys though, if you want an EV.

Competition is killing Tesla. It used to be the Gold standard for EV cars for years.

The competition is doing as well or in a lot cases, better than Tesla ever did.

Tesla charges a price premium with shit build quality.

Now some customers are losing their asses after that big ass price drop. Their brand new 130K Plaid is now only worth 90-100K!!!:smh:

I think they appeal moslty to affluent people. In the upper middle class areas where I live it is all Teslas. I think the average person either live in a apartment or cant afford to install the charger at their house so their only option would be to go sit in a parking lot for 30 minutes just to charge the car. Aint nobody got time for that.

Im a big Tesla hater, but the fact remains that I see more and more of their cars on the road. Their charging network, FSD tech and soon AI will keep them relevant for years. I want to get hyped about other car makers taking market share, but they will all be in bed with and licensing tech from Tesla.

Yeah driving around it looks like they're giving away the Model 3's for free.

Yea makes sense. Personally not for me (just don't like the look of em, and out of my price range anyway I ain't gonna lie), but I also truly don't know how they're ever gonna make the FSD work in the real world. Not just them but auto makers in general. Liability-wise, I think insurers are going to charge both arms AND legs to cover that shit. Not to mention getting that past regulators.

Might be the old-schooler in me, but I wouldn't want to be on the road with a bunch of heat seeking missles tambout "Sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" coz of some software glitch. I know humans are just as prone to disaster, but again they gonna have to REALLY convince folks that tech is trustworthy and sound. And that they aren't just selling a fairytale.

Time to cop some more TSLA. I’m trying tell y’all get out your feelings and look at the fundamentals of Tesla. The semi hasn’t hit full steam yet, the Cyber Truck is dropping next month and every major automaker is switching to Tesla charging standard aka supercharger business is about to be booming. Next year will be shitty in the stock market in general. Time to buy what’s on sale 2008 2.0 is coming.
