BGOL MEDICAL: Anyone Here Ever Suffer From EXTREME ACID REFLUX?!!

I have been dealing with this for about a year off and on and Prilosec was doing the trick, but now I just left the ER and they are having me see a Gall Bladder/Colon Specialist next week.

The pain is so intense, it's hard to breath at times. Every fuckin' breath is painful. Have to use hardcore pain meds until this gets sorted.

At first I thought I thought I was having a heart attack when this all started last year, but my cardiologist recommended Prilosec or Protonix to help ease the pounding chest pain from acid entering my esophagus.

I had it bad but not that bad I tried Gaviscon the one you drink it worked a lil bit, and the Prilosec and Protonix take months to work so stick with it as best you can, you're going to have to find a really bland diet till you get this under control I was on apple sauce clear juices and pretzels for 6 months just to stay alive...

God bless and good luck

All the best with getting it under control, Deezz.

Don’t know anyone personally with extreme acid reflux. Just a few people currently that have been altering their diets due to longstanding struggles with IBS and indigestion.

Thanks man... This shit is no joke!!!!

I'll update the thread once I find out what's going on w/ me.

I definitely see spicy foods, which I love, being taken out of my diet.

You got it. Defintely keep us posted. Spicy foods can definitely upset a number of peoples’ systems.

Even after years of being able to tolerate certain foods and dishes prior.

that sounds like might be gall stones or an inflamed gall bladder to me -
I had those symptoms and intense PAIN when my gall bladder was obstructed with stones

These symptoms remind me of what I dealt with before having my gallbladder removed close to 10 years ago. Before that I was misdiagnosed with acid reflux.

You may be dealing with something similar.

Be sure to stay away from pain meds which contain NDAIDS and surprisingly things like sunflower seeds, peanuts, cashews, etc. which can trigger it.

dude - don't hesitate to run to the ER

Uh he has a cardiologist, he is definitely not going to hesitate going

to the ER....

Im saying you cant be doing the same thing if you expect different results..

the number one cause of what he talkin about is food... especially acidic and fatty foods...

It's just not been diagnosed properly. Just a "try this" by my cardiologist, and it worked.

This will all get sorted out next week. No way can I live like this too much longer.

I've never fasted.

Trust me it will change your life if you incorporate a fast every three months...

also cut down your portions of food.... Use a small plate when you eat...

start doing things like NOT eating after the sun goes down.. have some apples or pears on deck,

the first few weeks in case you feel like nibbling on something...

then try to go one day without eating.... the minute you feel hungry, try to do a push up or sit up, flip that energy into something beneficial.

Im about to go on a 14 day fast, right now Im loading up on the greens for protein, vits and minerals...

We were programmed to eat non stop and thats putting a toll on our whole digestive process.

EVERYTHING needs a break, and yes that includes our digestive system, it gets too overworked

an all types of problems ensue...
Start off slow, cut down food portions, only eat between noon and sundown.... and have only apples or a pear before you go to bed

and when you wake up in the morning...

My urbun bush doctor cyber diagnosis is telling me, your body need to clean out.. fasting will
kick start that shit like nothing else...

Fasting may provide several health benefits, including weight loss, improved blood sugar control, and decreased inflammation. It might also offer protection against certain conditions like cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

Hey if you try it and it works, come back and let a knigga know...

I want the best fo all the bgol massive, and I feel better knowing yall

doin better!!!

I dont give a fuck if you are vaccinated or not... we all in this shit together mayne!!!

No BS, I'm going to start fasting a bit more.

If you are focused it will not only change your life, it will add quality,

when you notice that energy bump, and noticing how you feel and look more

radiant and younger, especially when you incorporate green juice into your diet,

YOU WILL NOT LOOK BACK... the best and only way to change your life,

IS TO CHANGE FROM WITHIN!!!

You can DO THIS BRUH!!

Keep a real knigga posted bruh!!

I agree w/ @Mrfreddygoodbud. Also consider cutting down on your milk and bread consumption. They generate a lot of mucus. Your best bet is to see a GI specialist and have an upper endoscopy. They look into the esophagus, stomach and first part of your small intestine with a camera on a tube. It can identify if you have damage or possibly narrowing, spasm, ulcers, inflammation whatever. If that's clean they will do a similar procedure checking out your Gallbladder for inflammation narrowing or stones that could be blocking it.

Also if you smoke you might wanna cut back or quit.

Appointment Tues @ 2P with a GI specialist.

Ironic thing is, I was scheduled at this same place to get my annual colonoscapy done in the next few weeks.

Not a smoker and barely drink alcohol.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like textbook gallstones to me.

I used to get acid reflux... a few things:

=====

Aside from that - Acid reflux can affect the lining of your esophagus which can lead to cancer, so try to get it under control ASAP.

Good luck.

Trying to get this endoscopy done is a pain in the ass!!!!

My cardiologist wants me to get a stress test before he will clear me for the procedure.

Most of these Digestive places are backed up for weeks, if not months!!!!

Just have to be patient and I have changed my diet completely.

I believe it to be an ulcer of some sort.

Just horrible acid reflux.

Yes, I had it a few years ago. I had to stop taking the purple pill meds because they caused me to rupture my Achilles tendon. Also, if left untreated it can cause cancer of the throat--esophageal cancer.

Watch what you eat. I went to an extreme bland diet at first. Now, I just know what'll trigger an attack and I either avoid that food or drink, or I prepare myself for a few hours or days of pain. My sure fire cure is to take a teaspoon of red wine vinegar. I might follow it with a teaspoonful of honey to make it go down easier. But, it works for me.

Definitely stay on top of things, and keep us posted.

I remember back in the early-90s a friend of mine from school's dad dealt with stomach ulcers and said it was not a pleasant experience in the least. He was a relatively healthy guy otherwise in his early-40s.

Speaking of food / diet ... my dad has dealt with IBS over the years. He's made some changes to his diet in the past year that have helped him. Cut out milk / drastically cut down on tomatoes, rich sauces, broccoli, brussel sprouts, some breads, etc. He eats a relatively healthy diet. Lots of vegetables. Bakes most of his meals, and/or stir-fried / 1-pot. He tends to eat large portions & eats food fast ... wish he would slow down and enjoy the meals more. Whenever you have a meal with him he's done and you're still around 70%, lol. Cut down on the portion size too as he's mid-70s.

Was going to chime in earlier then I got side tracked.

I had horrible acid reflux when I was younger (mind you I was fit, working out 3-4 times a week and shit. I was in pretty decent shape). But I would wake up from my sleep sometimes coughing up acid. It got to a point where I was sitting at a restaurant eating lunch and I couldn't swallow what I was eating. Like food was stuck on the way down and my LES (lower esophageal sphincter) wasn't having it. Ended up calling Ralph all over that particular bathroom.

Finally got an endoscopy, and the doctors couldn't find a damn thing. Just irritation. I was like you gotta be shitting me. So, from that point on, I had to swear off certain foods (fast foods, blue cheese, greasy foods, orange juice, etc.), avoid eating things directly before bed, and drinking plenty of water before and during meals. Shit helped but I ended up getting a script for Omeprazole, which ended up being the best route for me.

Just know that you shouldn't fuck around with long term reflux as it could lead to cancer (Barrett syndrome).

Yea, a lot of places are backed up due to people getting back into self maintenance after the pandemic. My dentist said he was booked into next year already, so I am on the cancellation wait list.

One day I drank some strong hibiscus tea before bed (thought I was doing something healthy) and its travelled back up while I slept. Throat felt like it had closed up. Couldnt swallow anything without chewing it 100 times. I got an endoscope done and the doctors didnt find anything. Doc prescribed stomach acid reducers until my throat healed and gave me some tips on reflux. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems in a few years.

Another thing that can cause heart burn sensations is costochondritis. I developed this in my late teens, early 20s from improper weight lifting. At times it felt like heart burn other times I thought I was having heart attack symptoms.
