Dark Winds
2022

6/10

I started watching this a couple of weeks ago knocking out an episode here and there. I had DVR the episodes a couple months ago when they were on the regular amc channel.

It’s an interesting dark, crime thriller series that somewhat taps into some supernatural stuff.

The series does a low key depiction of Native American life in the US in the 1970s without being preachy.

There are just 6 episodes in season one. It’s not really a binge watch series. Recommend taking your time to soak in.

Season 2 debuts on amc+ July 30, 2023

I keep hearing wonderful things about this show

Comparing it to a simple plan!!!!!

Damn a loss traumatized her?

Interesting development though these shows used to be very heavily regulated and monitored.

hmm.

Interesting - though I’ve never heard of the show, lol. Don’t have Netflix. Though our manager lets us use their family acct at work - which is nice.

Delete on Netflix

Starts off very involving with cold but watchable characters portrayed by actors giving great unflinching performances. As the show goes along there are definitely some slow paced moments blended with a couple of plot holes. I liked the ending which will lead to a second season. But there are definitely questions I need answers to.

Hijack on Apple TV

Another very involving series which borrows some threads from the movie 7500. I like how things are slowly but surely coming to light . I actually thought that this was a movie and I guess a lot more twists and turns are coming due to this being a series.

The Idol on Max SEASON/SERIES FINALE(?)

This series may have been messy, off putting for some and laced with some bad acting but i dont think anyone who watched this weekly wasnt entertained by the salty script and one liners, the singing and music and this odd, crazy love story it ended up being IMO

Yeah, I saw the commercial and assumed it was a movie.

Besides Black Mirror, I also gotta add I'm a Virgo on Amazon to this as well

Oh shit, I didn’t know that was this month!!!

Man, I'm A Virgo blew Black Mirror out of the fucking water... I'm A Virgo is 2022-23 Victor Wembanyama, a new concept unlike anything we've ever seen before, to Black Mirror's 2022-23 Russell Westbrook, a former great that at times showed flashes of past excellence but was just as often embarrassingly bad.

If you have watched I'm A Virgo, share your thoughts-- I'm as fascinated by it as anything I've seen in a long time.

CNN has set a premiere date for its next original series: See It Loud: The History of Black Television.

The five-episode docuseries — which is produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter through their SpringHill Company — will debut Sunday, July 9 at 9 PM.

The series explores the impact of Black television on popular culture, from The Jeffersons and Roots to the cultural impact of reality and unscripted TV. “Today we are in the midst of what is being widely referred to as ‘The Golden Age of Black Television;’ however, this ‘Golden Age’ is the culmination of an eighty-year struggle for Black artists to find a voice and fight for representation,” the logline reads.

The series includes interviews with people like Deon Cole, Desus & Mero, Gabrielle Union, Jimmie Walker, Judge Greg Mathis, Kevin Frazier, Ruben Studdard, Sherri Shepherd, Sonequa Martin-Green, Tatyana Ali, Tiffany Pollard, Tisha Campbell, Vivica A. Fox, and others.

The series is executive produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter for The SpringHill Company and Amy Entelis and Lyle Gamm for CNN Original Series. Showrunner Jodi Gomes serves as executive producers alongside Jamal Henderson and Philip Byron with co-executive producer Courtney Whitaker.

1 episode left to watch with season 2 of The Bear. Great season. Easily one of the best sophomore seasons for a show that I can remember.

Checked out the pilot episode of Average Joe. Enjoyed it - liked the lead and supporting cast and what they're setting up for the season. 10 million and a Lamborghini? Damn ...

3 episodes into Joe Pickett season 1. Liking it. Looks like they're just past the halfway mark of season 2 currently airing. We're looking to get caught up on that show in the next 3 months or so.

Need to get caught up on a few episodes of The Righteous Gemstones later this week.

The Bear continues to put on clinics in screenplay and acting

The Bear is everything missing in HBO's Idol and most shows on other platforms

s2 e7: Forks - the staff meeting

the bear season 2 was good tv❗

@ViCiouS

One of the media podcasters I was listening to said what works so well for The Bear is that they had a strong 1st season and have built on it tremendously. The countdown to the restaurant's opening adds that pressure. The additional character development for several people. The 6th episode with the holiday flashback to 5 years ago. The intensity of that episode ... damn. And undoubtedly having a bigger budget for this season, and a larger writers room (prior to the writers strike) ... it all works so well.

Loved the AC/DC needle drop near the end of episode 9. As soon as it kicked in ... started turning up the volume on the remote, lol.

The show revolves around Hathiram Chowdhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) a cynical cop who gets assigned to investigate a high-profile case. As he gets caught in the investigation, he gets dragged into the darker realms of the underworld.[citation needed] Paatal Lok is inspired by traditional concepts of Svarga, Dharti and Paatal (heaven, earth and the hell), as metaphors for the different classes of India and the four estates,[14] with the Paatal (hell) being served as the prime phase of the storyline, which takes places in East Delhi, Delhi.[15]

decent crime mystery
good plot and characters
check it out
wonderful story building
