{~}Official 2022-2023 NBA Thread - it’s that time again, this thread coming to a end

These young NBA players be having more episodes on their podcast than actual games started in the NBA. What the hell RJ Hampton doing with a podcast? Why all these NBA players have podcasts but trash on the court. Less Podcasting and more practice. Niggas wanna be influencers more than they want to be hoopers.

Some of them have aspirations in media, so it makes sense.

But it's really watered down.

^^^ Based on what I heard here, y'all haven't had a 50 win season in 45 years???
Ive stated this more than a few times in these threads while constantly highlighting the ineptitude of the franchise. Where have you been?
The Wizards make the Knicks look like the Lakers-- I'm wondering if Jordan Poole isn't already top ten in franchise history!
No. They make the knicks look like the knicks. Wiz have won a NBA title more recently and have actually done more with far less and with far less hype and attention.

And of course you think Poole is top ten.. you just started watching basketball 3 years ago.

Fair point re: winning a title. :hmm:

You haven't seen me interact with any of your Wizards posts prior to the JP trade... Even living in DC, nothing about the team has ever caught my attention. Warriors scraps are a lot more interesting than anything I've seen from the Wizards.

Who overrated his defense?

Joker

and basketball "experts"

It's a big difference when you're not challenged on defense individually because most of these teams centers are really fours and the most of the league is playing small ball.

It's allowed Brook Lopez to go from a mediocre defensive center to a good one.

But you realize the conversation on the quality of his defense is not elevated by giving a platform to an "analyst" who doesn't watch the games and claims Joker has never made a meaningful defensive play, right? When he had three game-saving blocks just this season?

This muthafucka really gettin on my nerves wit his shit. Just stay in Portland. Fuck it. :smh:

MMA Legend Threatens NBA Star Damian Lillard With A Beatdown On Sight After Disagreeing With His Tough Guy Act

Story by Kyle Dimond • Yesterday 12:00 PM

Whether he knows it or not, NBA star Damian Lillard has made an enemy in former UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen.

Always opinionated and never outdone, Sonnen recently appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to deliver some hot takes as usual on a variety of topics.

Whilst he is never afraid to mark his flag in the ground and defend that hill, the former ESPN analyst directed his first shot at an unplanned target.

At the start of the conversation, Chael pointed out a bobble head on Helwani's desk of Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard.

Whilst he was stunned at first that Sonnen even knew who Lillard was, Ariel quickly got the full picture with Chael being from Oregon which then turned the conversation into the 'Bad Guy's' opinion on Lillard.

Chael Sonnen Issues A Warning To Lillard: "You Don't Ignore Chael"

Immediately listing off his issues with Lillard after saying that he's not too happy with him, Sonnen explained where the beef on his part comes from.

Stating that the Blazers have this "weird thing" where they refuse to acknowledge Chael as another athlete from the same area, the lack of recognition is the first aspect of the feud.

The second part, is the way Lillard conducts himself on social media which when combined with the team ignoring Sonnen, is enough to get them on his bad side.

"I see Lillard posting on social media constantly like clout chasing and boxing and all that stuff and I never see him acknowledge me and I'll tell you it's a jealousy thing but's it's also a p*** off thing and if I talked to Damian Lillard on social media, particularly when it's about fighting, which he's always trying to act like he's some kind of a tough, you talk to Chael. You don't ignore Chael and if you do ignore Chael, when you see Chael, Chael will whip your ass and that's where me and Lillard stand to tell you the truth."

After airing his grievances, he did admit that he isn't going to fight Lillard if he comes face-to-face with him. Though he does maintain that he should acknowledge who the tough guy around these parts is.

I don't see this from Woj or Shams or anyone credible yet but the Rockets are one of the 5 teams I'm most interested in watching next year and these would be interesting moves... I feel like Brooks is an underrated value right now because he did so much to damage his brand running his mouth and verbally overrated himself so much last year.

Edit: That ganja had me thinking Wembanyama went to Houston. Ain't no way in hell I'm watching the Rockets next year.
