Hulu Announces ‘Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told’ Documentary

yeah pushing the negative agenda- that's the only reason this doc is coming out
I wouldn't look at it that way but people want to see what it was like back then when black people was on some wild shit.

Because the old school generation swear the new generation are doing more wild shit than they did back then!

It be dope to have some of that memorabilia t-shirts, shorts, hats.
I just checked that website that was quoted to you about t-shirts, hats and memorabilia and I'm not impressed at all.

I'm gonna look around to see what other websites that are out there that have something better.

But them same CACs had a video out about their own people with that GIRLS GONE WILD documentary.
It's not a race thing when it's about CACs though. A lot of it came on the heels of MeToo to make a point about toxic masculinity, exploitative capitalism, and the objectification of women.

Most creative work, including docs, have an agenda behind it. I'm sure that's the case with this Freaknik doc as well.

Hmmm, you might be right.

The timing of this doc does seem odd!

The timing doesn't seem odd to me. It's very well placed. It could've been made a year or so sooner but it's well placed when you consider all of the free publicity it's receiving from Black Twitter and other SM spaces.

A lot of peoples feelings are gonna get hurt after this doc is out with the meetoo movement wanting to put dudes in jail from what they did yrs ago. Good luck with finding all those people in that freaknik video to throw in jail.

Yeah I definitely feel that coming. And people will focus on this and forget how much sexual assault happened at these white festivals like Woodstock 99.

I doubt anybody will go to jail from this documentary. There may be some prominent members of the community who'll have to do some damage control but that'll prolly be the extent of it.

Couldnt Exist Today....Too Many Damn Cameras.....#what happens at da 'nik.....#stay at the damn 'nik....#talkin bout we do not talk about fight club got dammit

Of course, it could exist today.
You see some of the shit ppl doing and saying on the internet.
Back then ppl would feel some type of way caught doing some of these things.
Ppl do not give shit now. As a matter of fact, this generation would defend that behavior.

I think people are making an unfair comparison to then and now. (My last one was in '96)

The wild freanik shit was a subculture. Meant to be a "If you was there, you was there/ If you wasn't, you missed it" type of thing.
The cameras coming out was a borderline thing to a lot of chicks. Only some of them didn't care, where a lot of them didn't want to be filmed with titties and pussy out.

The difference now is that it's no longer a subculture; it's mainstream. And Millennials and GenZ are just using it as an excuse to say, "See? Yall did the same thing." Overlooking that it was a pre-organized event for young people to meet yearly and do what they wanted sexually.

It's all wild behavior in general.
But IMO, the big difference is that EVERYWHERE/ANYWHERE is freaknik now: Restaurant, wedding, baby shower, protests for social justice, court proceedings, funerals..... :p

Maybe that's the problem, there are no pre-organized events anymore where ppl can just have some raunchy fun for awhile and go back to normal.

Way too many ppl trying to shame others or put them on blast on social media for ppl to have some care-free fun for awhile. So ppl are like fuck it I'll turn anything into a party.

Despite stuff like Freaknik, spring break, Bike Week, America isn't really a culture that respects fun (e.g. like Brazil) and many ppl, particularly the young, are fed up with the uptight, fake morality.

That CAC don't know shit about our culture or freaknik, that CAC bitch needs to stay in her lane because last time that I checked them honkies was doing some wild shit too on GIRLS GONE WILD!
That's the point @Darrkman made and why I quoted him. This will be a tool used against Black men by white people to deflect from their own savagery.
Already throwing #metoo into the mix.
