How did he know he was 12? I'm sure that he didn't have a sign with his birthdate on it..... you seen some of these twelve-year-olds these days? For a person that really don't know the ways of the streets, I bet he wasn't expecting someone twelve years old to be driving..... or to be shooting back at him

Here in Texas. Everybody has a gun. Even toddlers. You're in NY so guns are "foreign objects" to ya'll. Down here they carry and shoot - that's the culture here.

But folks who the "welp at least they have insurance" remarks knows nothing about deductibles and how not everyone has full coverage. And it's always the people who have the least who are quick to dismiss other folks getting robbed, to me it's like they identify with crooks more than honest hard-working folks who are trying to make ends meet.

Facts. Sometimes insurance wants to fix your shit on the cheap. Other times it’s the depreciation after it’s been stolen, damaged or wrecked. A lady backed in my Vette within a year of me getting it brand new. They body shop did a good job, I can never sell it for what I would want, and every time I look at it or wash it, my eyes go to that corner where she hit it. My boy has a Tesla Model S on 22s. It’s cold as fuck!!! Somebody ran a yellow and clipped him. It was in the shop a month. I don’t have the heart to tel him the frame is bent. If you know cars you can see it’s been wrecked before he tells you. The gap between the hood and door is wide on one side. Had it been stolen and wrecked, same thing? Plus you don’t know if they did donuts or made TikTok videos with your shit. Too many unknowns. So taking somebody shit, even if they get it back and insurance covers it, you’ve done emotional damage. Should they shoot on sight? No. Would I be upset if they did and the persons (kid or not) died? NOPE!

Guns are not easily obtainable through legal means. But they aren't hard to come by by any means.

The fact that you also have stand your ground laws there also adds to the attitude of "eh fuck it let's just shoot people"

Ofcourse those kids started shooting first. He wasn't going to volunteeringly shoot up his own shit. He walked up to them saying" get the fuck outta my car". They said "fuck you" and started shooting. He then returned fire as they were pulling away. Fatally hitting the kid in the process.

The reason some people are willing to kill and die over things is because the things are how they place value to their own lives. The car thief and car owner were in the same place mentally they both were willing to kill and die over stuff. I'll kill or die over my values before I will kill or die over some objects.
