TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

There is a similar series on Netflix starring Guz Khan. It’s a comedy series based around the British Pakistani Muslim community.

Folks should be familiar with him co-starring in a number of recent films.

There are only 3 seasons with a average of 4 episodes that run about 20 minutes each.

The series is based in England, just like “Top Boy”, heavy use of British urban slang, might have to use subtitles for some scenes.

No word yet if there is a season 4. This is one of those Netflix shows that is sitting out there in limbo and nobody has any idea on anything, on the future of the series.

Man Like Mobeen
6/10

Mobeen is a 28 year old Brummie Muslim single handedly raising his 15 year old sister. This show documents the struggles of his criminal past, the friendships he has and the controversies he faces as a Pakistani Muslim

Thanks for the info, B.

I recommended Mo to my mom, and she mentioned enjoying Man Like Mobeen and I do recall her suggesting it previously.

Gonna watch eps 3 and 4 of Mo later tonight.

@ViCiouS

We’re in. We watched episode 1 of Justified yesterday and it will now be in our weekly rotation. Thanks for continuing to recommend it to get on it. Good role for Olyphant. Recognized a few of the people in
Goggins’ crew. The small guy played Mr. Inbetween’s boss, and a cop on The Tourist. One of the other guys was one of the guys from Uncle Jack’s gang back on Breaking Bad, etc.

Ludik on Netflix is pretty good. I have watched The Darkman sequels so many times i half expected Arnold Vooslo to blurt out : I am Dr. Peyton Westlake. I enjoy these no nonsense, unflinching characters. Made it to episode 3 stopped watching not because it wasnt good but i tried Weed Gummies for the first time and.........

At the midway point of season 3 of The Wire rewatch.

All caught up with The Challenge USA.

Gonna watch episodes 5 & 6 of Mo this evening. Really enjoying this series.

Gonna catch up with the latest episodes of City on a Hill and Reservation Dogs early next week.

And continue on with Justified and This Fool too.

Looking forward to Cobra Kai, Atlanta, and Survivor's returns as well. Looks like Chucky season 2 is back in early-Oct' as well.

The Capture

In series one, after being acquitted of a war crime in Afghanistan, former British army Lance Corporal Shaun Emery finds himself accused of kidnapping and murdering his barrister Hannah Roberts, backed by CCTV evidence. Whilst Emery works to clear his name, fast-tracked Detective Inspector Rachel Carey of Homicide and Serious Crime Command begins to uncover a complex conspiracy surrounding Emery, calling into question the validity of the footage.

Liked season one. season two has a brother killing his role.

He was great in the 1st season.

Been watching season 2 of Physical - about halfway through it - and he has a role on there too. Need to finish that show - believe the season finale aired recently. Short eps at 30 mins.

Finished Cobra Kai yesterday. Really enjoyed the season - more character arcs for the adult cast. Nice to have the quick turnaround from last season (which aired less than a year ago).

All caught up with Reservation Dogs - season 2 is almost over. Still recommend this show to everyone I talk to.

Have 3 episodes left with Mo. Really like the way they blend comedic / dramatic with this show. Put the captions on so you can appreciate some of the joke writing.

Need to circle back to This Fool still ... really enjoyed the first few eps I saw.

The Handmaids Tale 2 episodes in to the new season and it's already excelling past the last season
The visuals, betrayals and down right evil is outstanding AND HARROWING TO WATCH !!

Cobra KAI SEASON 5 really enjoyed this season in which i felt was far more intense and salty than previous seasons. I actually thought they were going to take a couple of crazier turns but i can see they pulled back a bit. Now all they have to do is bring in Hilary Swank who already has a contract with Netflix and the circle will be complete.

Listening to this podcast episode from late-April right now ...

"In the last two weeks alone, over 100 new seasons of TV have premiered. From Netflix to HBO to Apple TV+, we talk about the consequences of being flooded with too much TV.

Plus: Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are currently engaged in a very public, very ugly court battle — and the internet can't stop watching. We talk about the trial as public performance, and unpack the damage it's doing."

Echoes
2022

8/10

This is a new limited series that I watched over the past week and finished up this afternoon.

Not gonna spoil it, but I will say that if you currently have or always had suspicions, theories or ideas about twins. This series does a good job exploiting it.

The series has a number of twists to it. There are 7 episodes that run about 50 minutes each. The 2nd episode is where it will get confusing and throw you off a lot. You have to pay close attention and you will thru-out the series have to rewind a few times. Episode 5 begins to bring things into perspective and carries that out to the end.

Veteran actress Michelle Monaghan does a good job portraying the twin sisters along with the actress’ who portrays her as teenagers.

For the militants, there is interracial between a WW/BW. Nothing is shown. Also there is interracial between a BM/WW with the lead actress and her husband. Not much is shown.

For the gay agenda trackers, there is a relationship between a WW/BW, nothing is shown.

I recommend watching a episode a day to allow each one to soak in. It’s not a binge watch series cuz it could be overwhelming to a degree.

If you are a fan for mind-fuck material, you will enjoy this.

This is a limited series. They leave it off for possible continuation. I looked it up and Netflix has no plans to continue it, but the series is rating high so that could change.

Synopsis

Identical twin sisters Leni and Gina decide to swap their lives. However, there are dire consequences when one of the twins goes missing, causing both of their lives to rapidly fall apart.

Finished season 1 of This Fool yesterday. Really enjoyed it and there were moments I genuinely LOL’d at the dialogue and writing. And found myself with a smile for several episodes as I knew some amusing comment or scenario was ahead. Characters were likeable and I hope they are renewed for a 2nd season next year. Eps are easy to get through as most are about 25 mins. You can easily tackle 3 eps in just over an hour. Recommend it!

Good news for Reservation Dogs fans (they just aired season 1 - episode 5). They've already been renewed for a 2nd season ...

Reservation Dogs” has been renewed for Season 2 at FX on Hulu.

The critically-acclaimed comedy series is still airing its first season, with the sixth episode set to debut on Sept. 6. The Season 1 finale will drop on Sept. 20. Season 2 will premiere in 2022.

The series stars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Devery Jacobs, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor as four Indigenous friends growing up on a reservation in Oklahoma. Zahn McClarnon, Sarah Podemski, and Dallas Goldtooth also appear in Season 1.

“We couldn’t wait to share ‘Reservation Dogs’ with viewers and are thrilled that they seem to love it as much as we do. We’re happy to put in an early order for another season,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX. “Sterlin Harjo delivered on his creative vision, partnering with Taika Waititi and the rest of the creative team, the brilliant cast and crew to create one of TV’s best new comedies and a groundbreaking showcase of representation and raw talent.”
