TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

Good stretch of episodes of late down the final stretch of Better Call Saul.

Really enjoyed the premiere of season 3 of City on a Hill. Gets right back into the vibe of the show. Introduces a handful of new characters. Some you will like, and others not so much. Well cast.

2 episodes into season 2 of Reservation Dogs. Picks up right where it left off. Glad to have the gang back. And there’s a river scene with singing in ep 2 that was LOL funny. We were grinning like fools when it started and laughing thereafter. Played it back later. Great scene! They always do a great job with the score / soundtrack. Song during the end credits - also Youtubed that one for ep 2 too.

Thats my pet peeve with Netflix.

I’m always hesitant getting into a new series cuz they historically pull shit like this.

I recently deleted about 10 shows in My List cuz they have been sitting in limbo for more than 3 years.

I tried to hold out cuz I knew there were delays from pandemic, but after awhile I just had to give up.

They probably got over 50 shows on their service sitting there. And with new ones coming out, you have no clue if they will continue with new seasons or just abandon them.

Agreed. Alot of people would wait on network series over the years (until the season was finished) due to so many networks cancelling shows early or midway into a season.

Or people waiting for a season to complete now (network or streaming) and reading peoples' non-spoiler reviews along the way ... to see if a series is actually worth getting invested into. They are waiting for the BGOL seal of approval before checking it out.

The pandemic made a mess of many of these release dates too ... as so much stuff was delayed, then we've been flooded with stuff in the past year and change. Series debuting and returning left and right. Hard to keep up with.

Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99
2022

8.5/10

This limited series goes in-depth of the Woodstock ‘99 music festival held in Rome, NY. that went completely out of control shortly after the festival officially started.

The series shows how the entire festival from planning to the days after were a complete cluster fuck.

The interesting thing you will notice thru the episodes is how nobody wants to point out that the festival goers were predominantly White and acted like a bunch of idiots. One person does point out they were like “Animals” which was a surprise.

There is also two concert goers who actually look like real life Beavis and Butthead. Not sure if it was intentional to put them side by side like that. The resemblance and mannerisms is exactly like them.

It’s a 3 episode series, each episode runs about 50 minutes.

Synopsis

While the original 1969 Woodstock music festival promises peace, the 1999 revival delivers days of rage, riots and real harm.

Blackbird on Apple TV a great and strong finish to an extremely intense series. The show should receive multiple nominations for its strong and soulful performances.

The Sandman on Netflix I'm 3 episodes in and it's an amazing looking an involving series. I never read the Graphic Novels but would always see them in comic shops or hear about them across the internet. I think the characters are very interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing certain characters like Merv Pumpkinhead

He was great in the 1st season.

Been watching season 2 of Physical - about halfway through it - and he has a role on there too. Need to finish that show - believe the season finale aired recently. Short eps at 30 mins.

The Sandman on Netflix I did enjoy the likenesses to The Bible
Sandman was gone and most of his acolytes went astray to see the world for themselves.
Jehovah God some of his angels went astray to see the world for themselves and engage in pleasures and mayhem.
The beauty and the balance of life and death.
I know ultra fans of the graphic novel were upset about changes made in the series but i really enjoyed this and im looking forward to a possible season 2.

Going to watch the Black Bird season finale later today.

As well as this past week's Better Call Saul and City on a Hill.

Going to get caught up with Reservation Dogs and the rewatch of The Wire (handful of eps left in season 1) over the weekend.

Mom was in town for a few days earlier this week. She brought her flashdrive with her, so I loaded it up with an assortment of series for her - The Night Manager, The Bear, Reservation Dogs, The Old Man, Only Murders in the Building, etc.

3 episodes in and they already deviated from the comic(which was kind of expected..)

So you’ve read it too. Bless you sir. Lol.
Not a big fan of the book though I got through it and had it as overall enjoyable like 6/10. So. The series…

my sister in law really dug it but her tastes get wet for the Hallmark type shit and big romcom energies.

I watched the pilot… but man. Please - anybody lol. Let a nigga know the REAL scoop. Should I invest the time energy and effort in this ish?

current slate in process - LOCKE & KEY final season. The Sandman. BETTER CALL… Only Murders. Yep. Im one of the nigga still somehow fuckin with Pussy/P-Valley and will DAMN sho be on Raising Kanan S2 tomorrow. Westworld is about done like Saul. Idk. Probably other shit I’m forgetting but this along with all my other posts over the weeks months DECADES lol… oh yeah. I have to fully watch that last ep of THE OLD MAN. once I realized it wasn’t a limited series but ongoing I was too pissed off to fully peep Ep7 (thought I still saw like 85%)

anyhow

all of this is to ask again. — Y The Last Man was dog shit ass baggage that I didn’t finish and won’t.

should I fuck with Paper Girls or am I just waiting on ED BRUBAKER and possibly a few JASON AARON adaptations to get past the pilot stage lmao?????

Need to get caught up on 3 episodes of Only Murders in the Building.

Finished season 1 of The Wire re-watch.

Saw the series finale for Better Call Saul. Overall a fitting end for the show. Some stuff worked better than others during the final season, but what a solid prequel to Breaking Bad. They could have easily done any old SEQUEL and probably had an easier time, but they took the more challenging route and showed us what was going on primarily pre-BB and some post-BB. Made us care about the likes of Kim, Nacho, Lalo, Howard, and more.

Checked out the finale for Black Bird. Definitely recommend it, as have others on BGOL. Well acted by everyone involved, and a great performance from Paul Walter Hauser as "Larry Hall".

Black Bird is an American crime drama limited series developed by Dennis Lehane, based on the 2010 autobiographical novel In with the Devil: a Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by James Keene and Hillel Levin.[1] The six-episode miniseries premiered on July 8, 2022, on Apple TV+.[2][3]

Bittersweet ending to Better Call Saul but im somewhat satisfied with it because the story came full circle. Back to the root of what could have been and the regrets of going down certain paths in life but put in place by situations you couldnt control and eventually lost control of

Star Trek Discovery almost at the end of season 1 crazy how this show has been around since 2017 and im just starting to get into it now. About a year ago i walked into the middle of season 3 and watched a few episodes to kill time but now im actually enjoying it

I thought Tekken Bloodline was gonna be a netflix animated film but turns out its a series and looks like netflix doing weekly release with this, gonna check out the 1st ep today

All caught up with the 2nd season of Only Murders in the Building. The season finale is this coming week. Not as strong as the 1st season, but I will say some of the twists & turns in episodes 8 / 9 were effective and improved the season. Martin Short is still the funniest cast member - funny comments and mannerisms.

Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke react to Mischa Barton comments about her time on The O.C.

They called some remarks "perplexing," but also looked back from a 2021 perspective.

Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke have reacted to their former castmate Mischa Barton's recent account of her difficult time on The O.C.
On the latest installment of their podcast Welcome to the OC, Bitches!, the actresses discussed Barton's latest interview with E! News, in which the star said there were some folks who "were very mean" to her on the set of the teen drama and noted that she felt some relief following her character Marissa Cooper's death scene. (Bilson and Clarke's discussion came in a preview for an upcoming conversation with fellow podcaster Danny Pellegrino.)

Clarke, who played Marissa's mother, Julie Cooper, expressed an understanding of how pressure impacted her younger costars. (Barton was 17 when she began playing Marissa.)
"The one thing going into this podcast — and Rachel and I discussed this — I can tell you about my experience with total honesty, and transparency, and cannot speak for somebody else's experience. And, we have touched on this, Rachel, but someone who's 16, 17, 18 — that amount of hours of work, pressure, at such a young age — at best you're exhausted, and at worst, it's overwhelming and chaotic," Clarke said. "So it kind of breaks my heart a little to know that — we knew there's a lot of pressure on her, but if it was really that bad of an experience, that's not right for any young person."

But Clarke noted that some of Barton's comments confused her. "Some of the comments were very perplexing to me," she said, "so I don't know, I don't know what the truth is about that, but I do know that yes, this was an enormous amount of pressure — for everybody."

Bilson quickly chimed in, addressing Barton's remarks about her — that she was made a series regular later on.
"The one thing that I can say is like, in one of her first comments she says that I was added last-minute after the first season, which is actually completely false and not what happened," she said. "So it starting out that way, I was like, 'Well, that's misinformation. Where are we going with this? And what is she trying to say?' Which I would actually like to talk to her and find out what her experience was from her perspective because I saw things a little differently."
Clarke also approached Barton's comments from a 2021 perspective, looking back at the aughts.
"We all do know that… in the early 2000s, the scrutiny of the young ladies going out, and the Nicole Richies, and the Parises, and the Lindsays, and the Mischas — there was a lot of attention," she said. "And just by being out there, somehow it got turned against them."
She went on to offer Barton the opportunity to come on their O.C. podcast and address more of how she felt at the time. "I think it's something that we're all becoming aware of, and it's important for us to learn," Clarke said.
"Hollywood is notorious for doing 18-, 20-hour days and… it's not for the faint of heart, let's put it that way" she added. "But being that young, I do think it can be an additional stress."
When Pellegrino brought up Barton's comments about experiencing meanness from some of the men on set, Bilson said she didn't see that type of behavior.
"I don't know who she's referring to, because I didn't personally witness any of that," she said.
Bilson added that she thought Barton's interview had "mixed messages. "As their chat on the subject wrapped up, Clarke again expressed sympathy over the kind of pressures undoubtedly thrust upon Barton at the time, including paparazzi attention and having to turn down big-screen offers due to TV commitments (something Tate Donovan talked about on another of the O.C. podcasts). "What do you do with all of that?" she asked.

Finished the season 2 finale of Only Murders in the Building. The last 3 or so episodes improved the season on the whole. Enjoyed the twists and turns. The "cliffhanger" at the end felt a bit rushed and out of place. It would have probably worked better had they spent a few more minutes on it. On the whole though - pretty good season.

About halfway through season 2 of the rewatch of The Wire.

Checked out the rest of the 30 for 30 feature on And1. I had caught about 80% of it previously when catching and recording it in progress on TSN. Going to check out the Netflix feature of Untold - The Rise and Fall of And1 in the next few days or so as well.

Started season 2 of Industry. Enjoying it, as expected. If you enjoyed season 1 ... you'll dig it. More of the same. I think they've aired 4 eps so far. Currently have ep 1 on in the background.
