Well, it's a matter of historical record bruh. Literally all meaningful progress (and there has been meaningful progress) has come from the left in this country. Black folks HAVE advanced since 1964. Has it been sufficient progress? Am I a cheerleader for Dem incompetence, and worst, Dem complicity in some of the most egregious policies directed at black folks? Nah.
But like it or not, incrementalism is preferable to ANYTHING the right has to offer. Especially now that they're nakedly targeting hard won Civil Rights legilsation that makes your present day much more comfortable than our fore-father's. It's hard to imagine pretending "both sides" are equally culpable for our problems given the context. I'd prefer we all woke up to the reality of late stage capitalism and the rigors we'll be facing in the near-future wrought by climate change, human migration from areas we destablized (and climate change), automation etc etc and work on reimagining our economy and social structures to keep pace with incredible changes that are coming.... but in the meantime I sure as hell won't turn a blind eye to the fuckery these right wing, christo-fascists are trying (and succeeding!) in perpetuating. As far as that goes the NAACP in my opinion should not be focusing on Roe V Wade as Derrick Johnson is doing. If you want to throw a monkey wrench in to the Supreme Court and people have a problem with Brown v Board (and lets be honest they've been going around that law since it first came to). Fuck HR40, the United States government needs to be sued for reparations. Make Brown v Board and Plessy v Ferguson the least of their worries. That sounds great and all but what I am telling is republicans and their base are willing to cut off their nose to spite their face. Now why is that? Well for one they think in the long term and not in the short term.
Right now the talk is the republicans regaining back control of either or both chambers of congress. The dem base if fickle, while the republican base is determined to stay the course no matter what. That how they ran the table on the local level.
One problem. You can't just bring a case to the Supreme Court. First it has to go throw the lower courts and if that even happens (which would take years). The Supreme Court has to pick up the case and with the current makeup of the court I highly doubt they'd take it. If they did..they slammed that shit down as unconstitutional or some other shit that results in black folk getting nothing.

The Democratic Party has no respect for its base which is the Black community. Not the people of color community, not the BIPOC community, not the LGBTQRSTUV community, not the African American community but the Black community. I don't think the base is fickle. I think the Democrats have tried to target successfully Black women and ignore Black men and I think Black men at this point are disgruntled and are just not willing to be down with a party that gives us nothing but lip service and in many cases talks down to Black men.
As far as time we seem to not be doing anything at this point. I would rather go through a conservative court that way when a case is won (which with the evidence at our disposal should be no doubt). There's no question wrongs were done and this is what's owed and this is the required restitution.
When I say the dem base I am talking about the whole coalition that forms the dem party and not just black folk. Yes the dem base is very fickle and very fragmented.
