The 1980s was when there was a backlash to the sexual excesses of the 1960s and 70s. Evangelical Christians became politically active and formed the Moral Majority to sweep Ronald Reagan into power. Televangelists became mainstream stars and a couple of them went hard after Larry Flynt, Bob Guccione and Hugh Hefner. Hefner in particular had to scale the explicitness of Playboy WAY down. And mind you, even in the days of "porno chic" and all that, black folks were not into all that as much. Despite the image of blacks being sexually wild, we're usually much more conservative than the white mainstream. Black people are usually late embracing a lot of this shit.
I dunno if you're a yungin, bro... or maybe you just have a short memory if you can't remember how uptight people were about porn 15 years ago. Nowadays everybody is into porn because you have Pornhub and like 50 other tube sites and apps that allow people to explore the vast world of XXX in complete privacy and convenience.
Do you remember what it took to watch porn back in the early 2000s? Back when you had to go to a busy video store, and then in front of everybody you had to walk across the room and slip behind the curtain to the porn section? Then you had to get your porn tapes and bring them to the front counter in front of everyone to check them out while the people in the store suppress their laughter at what a creepy loser you look like?
MOST normies were not into porn like that back then. Most normies could not identify a single porn star unlike now when you have Teanna Trump and others who are also stars on IG/TikTok, and a porn chick like Chloe Cherry starring on a major mainstream teen drama like Euphoria and nobody thinks it's a big deal.
Porn was still very much taboo in 2009, fam... especially for black people.
