Black Monday: Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace, Mike Zimmer, Vic Fangio fired; Brian Flores out in Miami, Joe Judge OUT in NY, Culley OUT in Houston!

ahhh gotcha. A few articles I've seen so far say he's a top contender right now but I take it with a grain of salt since it's still early. I definitely agree with not being a fan of the circus around us when it comes to black coaches/GMs and QBs
The Giants organization has a history of pulling such bullshit but never hiring black athletes or front office people. These fuckers stuck with DJ @ QB instead of making a real grab for Russel Wilson or Cam when he was available.

I actually don't want them to go after Russel Wilson. At least not while he's still under contract. Giants would have to send damn near all their draft capital to get him and that would still leave them with multiple roster needs left unaddressed. It'd be like when the Knicks gutted their team to get Melo. I'd rather them use those picks to grab a stud Edge rusher and if anything trade back the 2nd 1st rd pick to grab more picks including another 2023 1st rounder. That's when I'd go after drafting a QB as that draft will much better QBs available.

Bears are going to interview Rick Smith for the GM position, what he did with Houston from 2006-2017 was a hell of a job, he left to take care of his wife who was dying of cancer. He would be my choice, drafted. D. Hop and JJ Watson, hall of fame type players. Since he left they haven't been shit. A brotha too...

If Chicago ends up with a black HC and GM, added with its black mayor, Apple and Google would have to disable the ability to type the word “******” on iPhones and Androids.

Actually dj was only considered when they thought they were bringing judge back.. now that judge gone Daniel is not guaranteed to return.. don’t be surprised if giants shock everybody in the off season

Source: Houston Texans fire coach David Culley after just one season

HOUSTON -- The Texans have fired head coach David Culley, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
On Sunday, after the Texans completed a 4-13 season, Culley said he expected to return for a second season. However, the Texans' ownership and front office took the past few days to evaluate the coach and decided to fire him on Thursday.

The firing comes one year after the Texans hired Culley, a longtime assistant, who became the oldest first-time NFL head coach at age 65. Culley, hired in January 2021 by team CEO and chairman Cal McNair and general manager Nick Caserio, was the lone Black coach hired last offseason and was one of three Black coaches in the NFL. Culley's firing leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin as the NFL's only current Black head coach.
Before being hired in Houston, Culley spent two seasons as the Baltimore Ravens' assistant head coach, passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. Culley spent 43 years as an assistant in college football and the NFL.

In Culley's first season as a head coach, the Texans won the same number of games as they did the previous season under interim coach Romeo Crennel. Culley did it with a depleted roster and team that has had just one first-round pick in the last four years.

Houston was without quarterback Deshaun Watson, who requested a trade in January after the McNair family hired Caserio. Less than two months later, the first of 23 lawsuits were filed against Watson alleging sexual assault and inappropriate behavior. Watson, who still faces 22 active lawsuits, reported to training camp and was on the active roster all season. The quarterback was a healthy scratch for each game.

The 2021 Texans were also without defensive end J.J. Watt, who requested to be released after the 2020 season and now plays for the Arizona Cardinals.

This season, the Texans dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars in the season opener before losing veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor in Week 2 with a left hamstring injury. He was replaced by 2021 third-round pick Davis Mills, who went 0-6 in his six starts while Taylor was on injured reserve.
After Taylor struggled in his return from injured reserve, he was benched for Mills, who beat the Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers in consecutive weeks.

Houston's offense ranked 31st in Football Outsiders' DVOA under Culley and offensive coordinator Tim Kelly.
that's that bullshit..he was put in an impossible situation and overachieved with that team, they won 4 more games than they should have.

hes been in the league for a long time, hope he gets another shot at a head coaching gig
this guy never should have been hired
he was only hired to check the diversity box after they passed over interviewing eric b and leftwich

and they thought it would help keep watson(prior to his allegations)
Agreed. They hired the least qualified black candidate they could find and set him up to fail from day one just so they could say "Hey, we tried the black coach thing". Now they will go hire some overrated white boy, probably from the Patriots.

HOUSTON -- One day after firing coach David Culleyfollowing one season in Houston, Texans general manager Nick Caserio said he thinks the organization is in a better place than it was a year ago.
"I would say when you rewind here and go back to a year ago ... I'd say the organization was in a pretty rough spot, and I think from where we were then to where we are now, we're in a lot better position," Caserio said Friday. "And quite frankly, I think that's because of the leadership and the guidance and the direction that David Culley brought in this football team."
Caserio said in a statement Thursday that he decided to fire Culley because he and the coach "had philosophical differences over the long-term direction and vision for our program moving forward." On Friday, Caserio declined to go into specifics about those differences but said they had to do with "next steps or how we move forward, not necessarily rearview mirror about what has happened."

"In the end, this is my decision," Caserio said. "This was something that I felt we needed to do that was in the best interest of the organization."

Please enlighten me as to what's wrong with Adrian Wilson as a viable candidate

There you have it The New York Vagiants new GM

Here are five things to know about new general manager Joe Schoen:

1. Schoen (pronounced "Shane") had served as the assistant general manager of the Buffalo Bills since 2017. Buffalo made the postseason four out of his five seasons after the franchise hadn't made it since 1999. The Bills, who are back-to-back AFC East champions, are currently preparing for their Divisional Round game against the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of last year's AFC Championship Game.
2. Schoen, 42, has 20 years of scouting and executive experience in the NFL. Prior to joining the Bills in 2017, he had been in the Miami Dolphins front office for most of the previous decade, serving the last three as the director of player personnel.
3. Schoen spent the 2013 season as the Dolphins assistant director of college scouting after serving the first five years with Miami as one of the team's national scouts. Additionally, he led Miami's preparation, assessment and acquisition of potential professional and collegiate free agents. He spearheaded NFL draft preparations, including evaluation and draft board construction while also serving as a key liaison between the coaching staff and personnel staff.
4. His first NFL job was as a ticket office intern with the Carolina Panthers in 2000. He then spent seven seasons (2001-07) working for the Panthers under current Bills general manager Brandon Beane, first as a scouting assistant and then as a southeast and southwest scout.
5. The Indiana native graduated from DePauw University in 2001. A communication major, Schoen was a three-year letterman in football (1997-2000). He played quarterback as a freshman and wide receiver his final three years, serving as a captain during his senior season.

If he brings Brian Daboll with him then I'm good. Daboll has done an amazing job with the Bills offense.

Da Bears have a new head football coach.
The Chicago Bears are working to hire Matt Eberflus as their next head coach, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, per a source informed of the decision.
The 51-year-old has spent the past four seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts after stints as linebackers coach in Dallas and Cleveland.
Indy sported a top-10 scoring and total defense in four years with Eberflus running the show and ranked fourth in rushing yards allowed and second in takeaways per game.
The Bears considered hiring former Lions and Colts coach Jim Caldwell and Cowboys DC Dan Quinn before ultimately landing on Eberflus.
Eberflus becomes the second new coach to secure a head coaching gig Thursday. Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is set to lead the Denver Broncos. The dominoes leave seven coaching vacancies.
Eberflus takes over after Matt Nagy was fired following the 2021 season after Chicago netted a 6-11 record.
The Bears sported a solid defense last season and have the pieces for Eberflus to work with in star linebackers Khalil Mack, Robert Quinn and Roquan Smith.
The big question for the first-time coach will be on the offensive side of the ball, where the Bears struggled mightily under Nagy. With quarterback Justin Fieldsflashing raw potential during his rookie campaign, who Eberflus taps as offensive coordinator will be his first big decision in the new chair.
Rapoport noted Thursday that Eagles passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo is a name to watch at OC for Chicago.

Actually they didn't pass over Eric B. He passed on them and rejected an interview. He wanted no part of the clusterfuck that has been the Texans front office pretty much from Bill O'Brien trading DHop for a bag of stale Kroger brand potato chips to them alienating Watson to the point that he wanted a trade. Not sure but Leftwhich

Don't be surprised if Daboll brings Mitch Trubisky with him.

DC hired by Josh McDaniels before he flaked at the last minute. Indy kept him and he's been coaching a Top 10 defense ever since. Supposedly he coaches defense similar to Lovie Smith and he has experience with the 3-4 and 4-3.
He needs to nail the OC hire.

It’s all for not if he doesn’t bring in a good offense coordinator. That said, I think he’s a solid defensive guy and, like I said, he’s got to bring in an offense coordinator who can bring a modern NFL offense without all that gimmicky bullshit that Nagy was pulling.

If this is really a fake story?

Shefty should not just be given a pass.

We gotta start holding these so called journalists responsible.

You can't just tweet stuff and say we'll it's rumor when you wrong and then when it's right

Giants hire the EXACT 2 white men they said they were going to hire weeks ago

Well darn...

The Rooney rule is really working huh?

Tom Brady said Monday he is "still going through the process I said I was going through" amid reports he was going to retire from the NFL.
Brady made it clear on the "Let’s Go!" podcast he is still weighing whether he was going to walk away from the NFL despite ESPN and the NFL Network reporting he is retiring after 22 seasons and seven Super Bowl titles between playing with the New England Patriotsand Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It was still a good week for me. I’m still going through the process I said I was going through. Sometimes it takes some time to really evaluate how you feel, what you want to do. I think when the time is right, I’ll be ready to make a decision one way or another like I said last week," he told legendary sportscaster Jim Gray in the podcast interview.
Brady was asked whether he was surprised when the reports came out.
"There’s always a good line that I’m responsible for what I say and do and not responsible for what others say and do. Again, one thing I learned about sports is you can control what you can control, and what you can’t, you leave to others," he said. "We’re in such an era (of) information, and people want to be in front of the news often, and I totally understand that and understand that’s the environment we’re in. But I think for me, it’s just literally day-to-day with me. I’m just trying to do the best I can every day and evaluate things as they come and try to make a great decision for me and my family."

Brady lamented that the reports were overshadowing championship weekend.
"I don’t know what different intentions are, and you know it’s not for me to control those things. There’s some very important games going on over the weekend, and I know how hard those players work on Sunday to prepare for that."

I was actually a little bit disappointed that would actually play some part of what’s going on in NFL football, which to me is such an amazing sport. It’s a great sport, and the focus should be on those great games. You’re right, for me, I was trying to enjoy a nice weekend. It didn’t quite turn that way because my phone got really busy, but that’s just part of being in the situation I’m in."
Brady didn’t say whether he had a timeline on making a decision — just that he’d know when the time is "right."
"Like I’ve always said, I’m very blessed to play as long as I have. As things have gone on in the later parts of my career, whether that was five years ago or even this year, there’s a lot of interest in when I’m gonna stop playing, and I understand that. It’s not that I don’t recognize that. When I know, I’ll know, and when I don’t know, I don’t know. I’m not going to race to some conclusion about that.

Brady was asked whether the reports and the circus that followed would give him a reason to come back one more season to just show he is still at the top of his games.
"I think my motivation for playing football is to win and be successful, and maybe there’s little parts of motivation that come from places or what people may say or think. I’m mostly motivated from inside and wanting to be the best for my teammates and my coaches and my organization. It’s kind of where my motivation has been for a long time," he said.
"At different times you use different techniques and tools to put yourself in the right frame of mind, but for me, it’s just always being the best I could be, and that’s always how I wanted to be for my teammates."
