Black Monday: Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace, Mike Zimmer, Vic Fangio fired; Brian Flores out in Miami, Joe Judge OUT in NY, Culley OUT in Houston!

I thought BLACK Monday had to do with an historic stock market crash? I didn't know the NFL use the term also....either way Yall need to dead that shit.

You really can't judge Judge because the players Gettleman got for him are trash. Gettleman handled every single situation in the worst possible way and drafted like he was blind.

Now the rumors are that the locker room hates Judge but we know how that can all turn around with a single subtraction (Tiki Barber) so we'll have to see what happens. But Gettleman is gone at least. 2 years too late but better late than never.
You knew that guy was gone when he kept using giraffe neck.. literally there’s 1 play barkley is jumping up and down in disappointment like why the fuck is this bum ass nig still on the field… if he would’ve went with Fromm and just lost with him he’d probably still have a job..giraffe neck ended judge career

Judge's biggest fault was going along with Gettleman.

Everybody who knows football knows the most important positions in order are:

1. QB
2. LT or RT depending on QB throwing arm
3. Edge
4. Cover corner

after that you usually gotta go for line either D or O but that's where the game is played.

So we see Gettleman and Judge addressed NONE of those top 4 and nothing else for that matter. No fucking body thought Daniel Jones was a starting QB in this league. Definitely not a first-round pick. If you can't get a stud at your position of need, you take the best available.

Gettleman couldn't draft and Judge couldn't coach what he didn't have but he should have put his foot down for the players he wanted/needed.

Bottom line - I'm glad they're both gone. I just hope they can find somebody who knows what they're doing. The bill parcels tree doesn't look like it bears much fruit.

@Quek9 @woodchuck

Let me just drop this early

Yeah that Rooney Rule is working out huh?

Well, all I can say is at least brothers are getting a look. The rule is weak as fuck but it's a baby step in the right direction because you know without it those plantation owners would never consider a Black anything in their front office.

when actually you'd think it would be the other way around. Most of the league's players are black. who better to connect with them than a black coach? In the end, the owner is winning (and making money) if the team wins.

I don't care if the Bears hire a black GM or HC. I just want someone who understands that the game is won or lost in the trenches on both sides of the ball. If Mustipher is the starting center next year, Fields will get his ass kicked again all year. Damn shame that Pace's best draft will be his last. Drafting two potential starting tackles and a franchise QB in the same draft is a home run. I don't have much nice to say about Nagy. Nice guy, but good riddance. He couldn't adjust his game plan or tailor his offense to the talent he had. He rode the coat tails of the defense and completely wasted it. It would be forgivable if he wasn't hired as a former OC.

That being said, I am glad that they are casting a wide net and that brothers are getting looks. There is a big difference between getting a look and getting a fair shot. Tomlin is probably the only black HC to get that and a good chunk of the Steelers fanbase would be delighted to see him gone.

Don't you play with my heart bro...
Russel said giants was 1 of the team he is interested in and he said this like a month or 2 ago so there is general interest in his part of coming to ny

Giants haven’t really discussed who they looking for as far as coaching which makes me think it’s somebody who might currently be unavailable ( due to the playoffs).. maybe they are interested in an offensive mind since our offense been garbage for yrs.. why not bring in somebody like leftwich.. guarantee barkley would willing to comeback and take a pay cut to make that happen.. coach, qb, RB all black

Racist ass Giants would rather blow the season again before they let that happen.
Geno smith cut open the cracks.. maybe time for more holes.. giant fans are fickle and I think the owners felt the heat on the last several games with giraffe neck and judge.. I think the owners know they need to make a drastic change or the fans will fuck around and boycott.. nyers aren’t as nice and allow a bullshit product to be sold to them but for so long( excluding Knicks and jets fans of course)

No, not really. Players and coaches want to win. Owners, for the most part, want to win but their primary concern is filling the seats and selling merch. Connection to the players isn't a black/white thing, nearly all the players are used to having white coaches their entire careers.

The NLF is just like the plantations of old. And every owner is a billionaire.

Geno was a bum, the giants got him for pennies back then. I was more insulted by them taking him and not giving Cam a chance when they met with him. It’s just like the bullshit meeting they had with Ka

Unfortunately that’s how it is. It was disgusting to see how many black players were too shook to kneel with Kap.

The NFL is far and away the sport that generates the most revenue in 'murica. But the players union is a joke. That's not a coincidence.

Stand up with Kap? Man, they can't even stand up for themselves.

The Bolts reached out to Phillip Rivers when they need a QB? Geno Smith is still in the league? Seriously? But Kap is blackballed because the owners won't let up off the player's necks one little bit.

Oh ok cuz I got the impression y'all were upset at him getting an interview cuz he was a BS option

Not at all.

My point was and I think others is

We don't like the circus attached to interviewing black coaches

Of course he is qualified

But are they REALLY listening?

And in the giants case they never had a black qb outside 12 snaps from Geno

and the black GM who got them 2 rings is constantly dismissed as inconsequential

But when they want to prove they are "progressive" they toss out his name real quick.

ahhh gotcha. A few articles I've seen so far say he's a top contender right now but I take it with a grain of salt since it's still early. I definitely agree with not being a fan of the circus around us when it comes to black coaches/GMs and QBs

Add the Texans to the list

We'll see if they hire Brian Flores. I don't believe a black head coach has ever replaced another black head coach (except for Jim Caldwell replacing Tony Dungy) in the NFL before.

bgol predicted that day one!

Source: Houston Texans fire coach David Culley after just one season

HOUSTON -- The Texans have fired head coach David Culley, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
On Sunday, after the Texans completed a 4-13 season, Culley said he expected to return for a second season. However, the Texans' ownership and front office took the past few days to evaluate the coach and decided to fire him on Thursday.

The firing comes one year after the Texans hired Culley, a longtime assistant, who became the oldest first-time NFL head coach at age 65. Culley, hired in January 2021 by team CEO and chairman Cal McNair and general manager Nick Caserio, was the lone Black coach hired last offseason and was one of three Black coaches in the NFL. Culley's firing leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin as the NFL's only current Black head coach.
Before being hired in Houston, Culley spent two seasons as the Baltimore Ravens' assistant head coach, passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. Culley spent 43 years as an assistant in college football and the NFL.

In Culley's first season as a head coach, the Texans won the same number of games as they did the previous season under interim coach Romeo Crennel. Culley did it with a depleted roster and team that has had just one first-round pick in the last four years.

Houston was without quarterback Deshaun Watson, who requested a trade in January after the McNair family hired Caserio. Less than two months later, the first of 23 lawsuits were filed against Watson alleging sexual assault and inappropriate behavior. Watson, who still faces 22 active lawsuits, reported to training camp and was on the active roster all season. The quarterback was a healthy scratch for each game.

The 2021 Texans were also without defensive end J.J. Watt, who requested to be released after the 2020 season and now plays for the Arizona Cardinals.

This season, the Texans dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars in the season opener before losing veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor in Week 2 with a left hamstring injury. He was replaced by 2021 third-round pick Davis Mills, who went 0-6 in his six starts while Taylor was on injured reserve.
After Taylor struggled in his return from injured reserve, he was benched for Mills, who beat the Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers in consecutive weeks.

Houston's offense ranked 31st in Football Outsiders' DVOA under Culley and offensive coordinator Tim Kelly.

that's that bullshit..he was put in an impossible situation and overachieved with that team, they won 4 more games than they should have.

hes been in the league for a long time, hope he gets another shot at a head coaching gig

this guy never should have been hired
he was only hired to check the diversity box after they passed over interviewing eric b and leftwich

and they thought it would help keep watson(prior to his allegations)

Agreed. They hired the least qualified black candidate they could find and set him up to fail from day one just so they could say "Hey, we tried the black coach thing". Now they will go hire some overrated white boy, probably from the Patriots.
