I saw a survey once and of the most popular/recognizable comic book characters, DC had 3 or the top 4 or something like that....
It was Spider-Man and then Superman Batman and Wonder Woman
I'm ok with Gal Gadot being WW but the general feeling is they dropped the ball with Supes... Batman and Robert Pattinson or Ben Affleck... pick one and roll with it...
I hear you, but that's not how it is in the comics. There are several different batman storyline with different batman, the applies to superman. Just because marvel is doing it a certain way doesn't mean dc should. Also, before marvel introduced the multiverse, DC introduced infinite earths which unified all dc movies and TV shows. The flash movie will be the cinematic piece that further unifies the various versions of the characters.
Robert Pattinson, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton will all exist in the same universe, but on different earths. The same will apply to Joaquin Phoenix' joker, which may also have a different batman.
I see no problem. Let marvel be marvel. Dc needs to just make good movies, even if they are not connected.

The Orphan was a great movie IMO
He backtracked on this and actally did The Flash movie after. So, as of now, he's still in. But, who knows, things may change tomorrow.
If they thought it was good they wouldn't be trying to oversell it. I don't think it's going to be that good 1st of all because the Rock is not a great actor.
Dark Night and the one with Bane were fucking great. The villains always seem to make the movies for me.
But I don't have any confidence in Hollywood anymore. All the talent the Internet has shown in the world. All the creatives. Yet hollywood just puts out the most uncreative shit. It's like the industry is still run by gatekeepers and it's 'who you know' not what a person can really do.
Until they get continuity within their universe they will always play second fiddle to Marvel.
They have continuity. DC established this with the Crisis on Infinite Earths. But, why do they need continuity? I think its cool to just do good movies. One offs or part of a universe.
Their movies are mediocre and they only had pockets of continuity. It was nowhere close to what Marvel has been doing.
No way that goofy shazam from the movie should be able to deal wit rocks' black adam.
I get what you're saying but before marvel even began to tap into the multiverse they established things in ONE UNIVERSE FIRST and did them very well.
DC haven't accomplished much outside of TV and their animated division but we're gonna be ok with them confusing the fuck outta everybody with multiple Flash's and Batman on screen?
NO. How can they establish this on TV (the CW of all places) but never mention it or make reference to it in not one single movie that has been released since the event. Not saying they have to follow the marvel formula, but Marvel introduced their multi-verse by using characters from the movies in their own shows, so they have that connection. No one watching Justice League or Aquaman is gonna know that Supergirl is out there on another earth. If anything, they should use this new Flash movie, which it seems like they are, to establish their multi-verse.
Another DC failure - "lets announce a multiverse by using Arrow, Supergirl and Flash and we can throw Black Lightning in there as well". 3 of the 4 related shows are done and we wont see any of those characters in any movies. DC failed at this attempt....again.
They should re-do that scene where Ezra met Grant's Flash except have it be from Ezra's point of view..

If they do this like a dark origin story.....yeah this could be fire.
And keep it similar to the recent Deadshot animated movie, you know he's a villain so you never really "root" for him, but you get a better understanding of his motivations and perspective.
That has been the biggest criticism of DC.... Their TV properties never align with the movie universes......
Had Smallville on TV for what 10/11 years? The only tie-in they did was premier the Man of Steel trailer during one show......
That's why when Marvel had Agents on and it matches with the movies fans were like "Awwwww Shiiiiit!"
The only surprise will be if DC somehow manages not to fuck it up.
