you mean after Richard, Redd, Lenny, Carlin, Mooney/Moms/Bill? How can this be? While DC is funny, he is not changing the comedy game the same as those before him. He tells jokes and quiet as it kept, DC is seemingly on the same path as Richard was on after his trip to africa. You know where you mix social commentary with jokes.

Dave changed the comedy game after the Chappelle show and securing the contracts from Comdey Central and Netflix sure there were black sketch comedy shows prior to Chappelle ILC and RP show but none has risen to the popularity and marketability of Chappelle. Networks have been looking for that next every since he left that void. See Key & Peele, the New Negroes a Black lady sketch comedy show. Comedy is subjective but the fact that he can mix story telling with social commentary makes him great.

Just watched the Closer and I will keep it short and sweet Chappelle is a comedic genius,he is funny as hell but his ability to tell a story with narrative and then make the narrative funny and tell a much deeper truth thru the funny is unique and extremely hard to do and he does it better than anyone. That last story about Daffney was told so brilliantly and pointedly that I was just in awe of his ability and the last line of the movie is exactly what needed to be said. Bravo!
