New Dave Chappelle Special” The Closer” October 5th

Lmaoooo 3 times Dane cook has entertained me.. 1 is the movie he did with Kevin Costner as a serial killer… 2 with his segment in the movie waiting.. 3 is when the poster named him over Dave chapelle and every1 going wtf and dissing him Lmaoooo… the guy mention Dane cook was funnier than any Dane cook comedy.. this thread gets bumped for that alone

damn ya'll some no reading, comprehending motherfuckers. I never said I found Dane cook a better comedian than Chappelle, I said, I would argue his body of work could be compared as being better than Chappelle. Ya'll niggas really can't comprehend a goddamn thing on this board. You can ride on Chappelle all day and night but that does not mean his body of work is any better or is getting any better. Plenty of other comedians puttin in the work who that you can make the case of better body of work... Hart, Williams, Epps.. the list goes on. When it comes to comedians like so many other categories, we can all debate whose the top 5 and fuck you and you but Chappelle ain't in my top 5 and neither is Dane Cook but since you mofo's can't comprehend that thought, yall illiterate bastards will keep talking shit but will never step in and challenge my premise on "body of work".

Looking forward to how or if he’s evolved. He’s notorious for gay, jerk off, and weed jokes. I’ll put Dave in the top 5 if not just outside of it simply for one rule: comedy is who and what he is. For me, if you do more movies or quit once you got movies, I can’t put you in the top 5, and, yes that means Eddie Murphy. Eddie was smart to get out early and is a legend, but not top 5 because he didn’t continue it. Patrice didn’t have enough in the can, so I’ll put him at the best comedian they never blew up, ever. Burr is second. I could watch Patrice read a menu. He was just too real.
Ok, this I can get with. You've stated your premise and then supported it thoroughly without the distraction of bullshit insults. I salute you for this. Thanks. If only dem non comprehending mofos could follow your lead :)

Man, how much mayonnaise do you eat?!
I didn’t say anything “gangsta”. And Dane Cook… c’mon son. GTFOHWTBS.
.. what the fuck does mayo have to????.no need to go any further because you actually ain't say shit other than try to throw a jab instead of defending your premise... never mind.. carry on.... ps. try reading my actual post with comprehension and then try again.

That's okay. Everyone has their opinion and everyone is entitled to it

The comic LIE of the freestyle is always at least semi prepped. Only the heckler attacks are truly freestyle

Dave Chappelle is funny to me. The social commentary he mixed with the comedy in a way that is better than George Carlin in my opinion but on that same level. He makes you think the same way George Carlin did

Every comedian worth their salt took some cues from the comedians who came before them. Could there be a Dave Chappelle without a George Carlin? We will never know
while I agree with 99% of this, I disagree that DC social commentary is better than Carlin. while I find DC social commentary easier, funnier to accept because I'm a black man like him and damn sure relate to what he's saying in these weird ass times, I think Carlin spoke to the some of the same issues but his audience per se was not primary targeted as DC is. Plus they operated in two different eras in an ever changing world. Think about it this way, Carlin social commentary jokes would spotlight the general fuckery of society but never really focused on a particular segment of society and how they are constantly being targeted, where as Chappelle comedy speaks to a more targeted audience in a similar manner. His comedy of late is informed a lot as a result of the plight of African Americans' in this country at the hands of white people bullshit. When DC first started, he had sets, told jokes and just went for the easy laughs, now his set is filled with social commentary with the joke interspersed in between. Instead of the quick easy laughs, he sets up long premises and the payoff is, if you take the journey with him, the joke is, there is no joke but it was a damn funny story about a sad reality in where the country has evolved too.

ps. thanks for expressing your opinion without the distraction.

We understood what you meant, everybody just thought it was stupid. If you articulated your thought accurately, then the response made sense as nobody agrees with you. I don't think you articulated what you were saying well but I still think it's ridiculous like everybody else.

Then you went and wrote all that bs and confirmed that your opinion on the matter is not to be taken seriously.

His articulated his point correctly. The problem is that nobody agreed with, liked or respected his articulations and we hope that he never enters this thread again! :roflmao:

I thought Morgan Freeman was going to have a snappy comeback.....
I don't know but I was thinking that Morgan Freeman might...

But for real though, Dave Chappelle just told a story about him fighting a lesbian very similar to my own situation

His was funnier. It's funny so far

I'll tell the story again. The last time I got into a fight with with a lesbian stud who outweigh Me by like 25 to 50 lb

She punched me in the face, knocking my glasses off my face and when I bent down to pick up my glasses blood dripped on the concrete

I was PISSED

The butch bitch charged me and I hit her with a two piece at about 50% strength and she went down like a sack of bricks

She got up staggering and charged me again. I hit her with a another two piece oh, 60% strength and again drop down like a sack of bricks

He then got up saying the stupidest shit I've ever heard in my life

"you a lesbian yourself. You a lesbian yourself"

I walked away laughing not knowing as soon as I left she called the police and said I assaulted her

I had a warrant for my arrest that I didn't know until I applied for a job. The job asked to do a background check and I was like a virgin taking an AIDS test, sure

I had to spend two weeks in lockup waiting for the judge to throw the case out oh. Now, I don't give a good goddamn if it's a 3-foot midget, if they hit me I'm falling on the ground and I'm suing everyone around. I'm not fighting again

No, I was simply challenging your top 5 comment. It's subjective, so need to get into some gangsta shit but DC is doing the social commentary thing heavily with the jokes interspered instead of flat out funny as jokes. Peep DC from when he started (straight joke sets) to where he is at now (commentary with jokes) and you can see his evolution but that doesn't make him in the top 5. I would argue that Dane Cook (yeah that comedian from yesterday a long time ago) have a better body of work but then again, comedy is subjective, so we good.

....How did he/it know your name???

.

This one was more funny than the last. I think he was just getting his feet wet with the last special and this special is a more refined version. He doubled down on the LGBTQ commentary and of course racism hypocrisy of people and his own hypocrisy.

I kind of felt the opposite, I remember thinking the others were great after I finished them, this one felt just ok. Relative to what I expect from Chappelle, anyway.

Maybe because this one seemed to be primarily dedicated to a single subject.

I'll help you get started

Dick Gregory

Paul Mooney....

by the way all you mofokrs making lists and adding Dane Cook and not Dick Gregory are either young or dumb or both.

Dick Gregory changed comedy and influenced everybody y'all have mentioned.
I seen Paul Mooney in DC. He spent an hour talking about the white man. It got old after about 15 minutes and a lot of people walked out.

Yeah the subject matter was mostly linear I didn’t like that. Let’s me know he was low key trying to apologize to that community because now after this he can say he dedicated a whole special about that community. But I felt like he told more jokes in this special than the last.

Dane Cook never got one damn laugh from me
