How you gonna make a thread about the better album when you haven't even heard the music?

Tough one. Sade has more songs I like on it but Anita's Sweet Love help define my teenage years! Gotta go with Sade only because of her band Sweetback. The album would still be a banger if it were just them playing all instrumentals.

I liked both albums equally but commercially, Sade wiped the floor with Anita.
You can like Sade but wipe the floor that’s another story I love Sade especially when I started getting into smooth jazz in the 80s but Anita Baker has more hood hits

I am going to give a slight edge to Anita Baker because she has more Hood classics.
I went with Anita for the soul of her music.

But it was fucking close.

This is the back of anita baker...as she comes to see Sade in concert:yes:

I hope that Chapter 8 owned the rights to their music, that song went damn near Diamond
I doubt it the record label drop them after their first album and this was back in the 70s so I strongly doubt it.

i was brought up on anita.. thats what my moms would play when she was cleaning the house..
the memories..
so i gotta stick to tradition..AB

This was to me Anita Baker last good song a few years ago that was rarely played on the radio

I did say I liked them both equally. I'm just saying Sade was way more commercially successful. I love them both.

Side note: The guitar player in my HS age band plays for Anita Baker. He's also a member of Unlimited Touch.

Nope. That's why CMW was able to clear an "Anita" sample. Chuck Facert owns that shit and a bunch of other shit too. Standard music industry theft.

Oh, and Sade for the win. Her concerts are better too.

Haircut like Anita Baker,
looked her up and down
Said hmmmmmn,
l’ll take her
I like Sade but Anita Baker when she was younger was very very very nice looking….But Sade was very nice looking too she just was a little skinny at the time but still she was extremely beautiful.
