Tamir Rice's Mom Has Words For Tamika Mallory and Other Activists After Watching

its sad & tough all around ! we will never get 100% of commitment or responsibility from all sides but we have to learn to really do things differently, i see both sides of the argument but feel there are better ways to deal with certain issues ! these purity test and circular firing squads gonna be the death of alot of progressive movements ! its just tough al around

but it shouldnt be , if rappers dont talk activism they get flamed for not being activists then if rappers become activists the still get flamed them for being rappers or activists
That’s not true. Jay Z talking black empowerment shit comes across as duplicitous. Mos Def rapping about black families seems ironic. There are many activist slash rappers. The problem is you can’t make the hoes in the club dance to injustices.

I don't watch Grammy's (last one I saw was Lauryn Hill) but apparently Ms Mallory subject of text is calling on PRESDIENT BIDEN (by name) and calling for racial justice. AT THE GRAMMY AWARDS. This is one of the largest stages in the WORLD. IMO, anyone who has a problem with this is actually part of the problem and not the solution.

I agree but I always seen her as different from most activist because she usually speaks from her own experience of losing her son's father to gun violence...

It seems Ms. Rice doesn't know much about Tamika's background and just lumping all the Black activist together...

Bruh...what does all that mean? You think people who kill unarmed black men and or your president are gonna be like "you know what..I didn't think about that before but since she said it on the grammys let's change"

she should have declined..What purpose does it serve for her on that platform other than self promotion?

Well I guess that's where the disagreement lies....I understand and agree that there are some that use the tragedy of experiences in our community to enrich themselves under the guise activism, but nothing I know about this sister leads me to believe that is who she is.

I can dig that...I've heard her speak a few times and she seems genuine. Just think the grammys was a bad look.

and anyone who claims to know is probably just making shit up. Folks acting like being is activist is ALL a person is allowed to do in life.
To THEM I say FOHWTBS

I think a lot of this has to do with a recent story where it was said that the Black Lives Matter organization raised about $90 million last year and the families of some of the most high-profile victims of police shootings, like Mike Brown & Tamir Rice, didn't get a cut. And the word is that a large portion of those funds were redirected to LGBTQ organizations.
