Joe Budden Sets Charlamagne Tha God Straight - UPDATE 9-12

I think the Joe rogan owns the name/show. But not the content. Until the deal is over.
It’s his content.. they just have exclusive rights to use it on their platform until the deal is up

thats pretty much what joe and other content providers want to do in the future..own content but get platform deals to showcase it

So, Joe turned down a more lucrative deal from black owned company (Hov/Tidal) to sign less lucrative deal with a white owned company (Spotify), because white owned company agreed to provide "information". Less than a year in the deal white owned company stopped providing information and apparently Joe had no legal recourse for that. Also, Joe did not get the bonus he says he was entitled to but apparently has no legal recourse for that or he is just letting Spotify slide on half a million dollars. Also, a guy who owns is podcast is asking someone else for a day off.

No one is arguing that Joe is not getting paid his worth or that he is wrong for wanting to retain ownership. He is correct on both accounts. The debate is how he reacts in his business dealings and how he negotiates his deals.

They turned down Tidal because Joe asked for the analytics and Jay said no up front. Joe has no hard feelings about the Jay shit cause at least Jay said no up front

Joe asked Spotify and they said yeah, only to not give him anything and gave a bunch of bullshit excuses (glitches, etc).

And Spotify looks shaky because they giving them all these bullshit trinkets and plaques for being number 1 instead of the actual compensation and analytics like they were promised. And on top of that, they wanted to renegotiate a new contract within 8 months of their current one to sign them all to 360 deals.

Charlemagne is an employee. This is the dame dash thing all over again. Charla can't speak on owner's business dealings while havig an employee mentality.

Brilliant idiots hasn't popped off like budden's podcast. It isn't charla's main source of income. If it was then that could be a different discussion.

Put it like this, a guy who makes $500k per yr as a major employee of a company can't talk shit about the business dealings of an owner who is trying to negotiate multi million dollar deals. It's just two different levels.

Charla doesn't understand taking upfront $$$ while giving up ownership of the business which generates way more than the upfront $$$ is a bad deal especially when your business is #1 on spotify. Lol
Actually there is no difference between being and “Owner” or “Employee”. It is all about being paid your worth. In this situation, CTG is being paid his worth but Joe is not.

For CTG, it may not be in his best interest to own his content. Ownership comes with a lot of overhead cost. Payroll is usually 40 to 50% of your operating cost. I heart radio has a large distribution footprint that is unmatched. It would cost CTG millions for compete in that space.

That is fair but Joe doesn’t go at Charlamagne for him choosing this route. He legit goes out his way to say that CTG has the right to want to work for money only. He goes at him for critiquing his own decision to try to get ownership and then calling Spotify out for their shady business practices. Basically this whole conflict is due to Charlamagne talking about business issues he can’t relate too and his ignorant attempt to try to spin it like Budden is wrong for wanting to invest in himself .

This whole video can be summarized as Joe telling CTG to stay in his fucking lane

But see that's what I thought Charlamagne said. He said Joe keeps getting in these bad business deals. I didn't hear what he said after that so if he said other shit I didn't hear but I didn't think what he said was that outlandish but it trigged Joe.

And does Charlamagne not own this shit?

maxresdefault.jpg
He might. That was Combat Jacks network Loud Speakers Network). Not sure of the deal worked out

I have no idea why joe gets so emotional.. He has a great point,

of NOT SELLING YOUR SHIT.. sure the money may seem great at first..

but when you give up OWNERSHIP, you become a slave to your own work..

and in the long run you gonna wish you kept all rghts reservered...

I always said now and days there is NO reason to sign anything...

wth social media you become your own agent, distributor etc...

and KEEP ALL YOUR SHIT..

dont be the muthafuckas that signs, then wants to read the fuckin contract years later, and get upset you dont own your own creations...

then try to buy it back, while the industry lowkey laughs at you

He’s part owner of LSN (Loud Speaker Network), that produces a few podcast...

When did he become part owner? I always thought that was Combat Jack's project, who I started listening to way before charmalgne could pronounce podcast.

Edit: the ceo Chris morrow had an interview in June where he mentions working with combat jack to create the podcast then the loud speaker network back in 2010

The problem I see is that Joe do not know how to conduct business and I think that is CTG entire point.

Joe be on some, let me conduct business on some street shit. When negotiations don’t go his way he tries to put people on blast (keepin it Real) and be the loudest in the room.

In negotiations, companies will always attempt to broker a deal in their favor. But when things don’t go right you can’t run your mouth. That will prevent anyone from doing business with you.

Also his tone in how he asked questions was probably way off. When you talking to people who are worth a few billion, they are not going to allow Joe to talk to them any kind of way.

Digital signal processing

Digital signal processing (DSP) refers to various techniques for improving the accuracy and reliability of digital communications. The theory behind DSP is quite complex. Basically, DSP works by clarifying, or standardizing, the levels or states of a digital signal.

edit:

A Digital Service Provider (DSP) is a term used to describe retail stores such as iTunes, as well as streaming providers, such as Spotify or Apple Music. We collect mechanical royalties and performance royalties on behalf of our clients from DSP's and pay those royalties to you directly.

Joe is being way too emotional and thinking he smarter than everyone.
But then again, I guess this is good content for the show he has?
I have never listened to his show. I can't stand his voice man.

Char trying to shop the "black network deal" to spotify but they didn't pay what he wanted. So he resigned to iheart for less than he wanted.

Said he was offered that deal first but declined it because he's not gonna help spotify cheat black creators taking half of their revenue and not doing shit for it.

Said char went to a lot of other dsps trying to get more money but they told him to gtfoh.

Said he believes but has no proof that char is the one behind the smear campaign because it's coming indirectly from char acquaintances and iheart employees. Does not think it was spotify.

Says if the attacks continue he will go to south carolina and speak with the girl that says char raped her when she was 15. Rory tried to stop him but joe is on one lol.

Says char told him on the phone he's doing bad business but joe said I've made multiple millions doing THIS way and char was dead quiet.

A bunch of other shit. Hints that there's a huge deal to be announced with the jbp while char is still nothing more than an employee that made iheart billions while they pay him pennies after 10 years.

With ownership of the breakfast club they could've had a slice of syndication in every city they're in but now they get not a fucking thing and can't get bring in their own ads because iheart has their own in place which they don't touch.

I for one am glad joe snapped on that bitch ass migga he a fake woke nigga that's really only looking out for self.

Joe said he's been in meetings with huge companies to bring jbp over to them and he's had multiple blank check statements.

I like Charlemagne he keeps shit interesting with his trolling type

Of talking shit...

Burdens just comes off as a guy who...

Is on the verge of going into severe depression ..

He can be entertaining I just cant relate..

But in this case..

He is a hundred percent correct

Nothing like owning your own shit...

If they would've kept some ownership in the breakfast Club..

They wouldve all been balling hard now...

Cacs eating good off their talent..

Charlemagne needs to take his act to a

"Black" venue

Like urban one... Cut a deal that gets him ownership..and a piece of the market pie..

And support his own

At the same time...

Sheeeeet I'd start listening to radio again

Sounds like he did that with the partnership with iHeart. The show line up sounds good. Gonna check out some of them.

I haven't listened but I'm slightly disappointed Joe felt the need to talk shit instead just delivering. He could be right about it being CTG but why even give it energy unless you have real proof. It just comes off like you're trying to blame others for your current failures or problems.

As far as the new deal goes, I kind find it hard to believe or this is a very new event. Joe's attitude on one of the recent podcast seem to say things are not or were not moving in a positive direction. He just seemed depressed and I can't see someone who is winning behind the scenes sitting on their podcast but not really adding value and acting like an ass to his team at times.

The thing that irritates me with black entertainers is acting as if they are so about the black community and yet they constantly attack each other over the most petty of shit.by no means am I on the streets empowering black people but I'm also not saying shit just because it sounds or looks good. The same can be said with CTG and Joe when it comes to the new mental health kick that everyone is trying to claim now.

Joe's great idea is to exploit a (i assume) black woman that was supposedly victimized by a black man who he currently isn't on good terms with as a form of revenge. This is what he considers uplifting and empowering the black community? Is CTG going to do the same with the woman Joe has supposedly beat?
