Rashida looks my age.
I'm in the second episode. It's really dry humor. I don't know.... It's just....i don't know what I'm expecting. So I’m watching the first episode....I’m so confused what this is about. Maybe it’s the poor timing but Kenya’s dilemma is that he’s too rich and buys too much shit?
I’m just confused to what this show is actually offering. Just one episode in but Rashida Jones is the only thing worth watching.
I'm on that one now. Got a deep message in this episode. It's alright. Something is off, the kid actors are not that good and Rashida is not convincing. I will still watch it though. I made it to the Juneteenth episode.

I think the problem I’m having is that I don’t know if I want a show centered around Kenya Burris. Something is off....I’m thinking it’s that.I'm in the second episode. It's really dry humor. I don't know.... It's just....i don't know what I'm expecting.
It gets better. It's not hilarious but there are a lot of deep messages within in each show. I'm up to about the 5th episode and I think I've only laughed twice.I think the problem I’m having is that I don’t know if I want a show centered around Kenya Burris. Yeah so by episode 3 it’s staring find its footing. That first episode was not a good episode to start off with IMO.I'm on that one now. Got a deep message in this episode.

I didn't love it, BUT I enjoyed it. It's a show created for the middle class and up, don't expect it to pass the this is for the culture, change the game or save black hollywood test.
So according to them nobody celebrates Juneteenth? Is it just a southern thing? I mean every year they have parades and all kinda shit here... crazy
I will finish watching it but it went from must see to I will finish it to support the brother when I am bored after I actually started watching it.I stopped watching after the first 10 mins. It was annoying as hell, nothing but whining for 10 mins
Fam where you live? Because here in Houston it's like every year, parades, barbecues, etc...I've never seen anyone celebrate it or heard of anyone having a party based around it. However, I took it as comparing it to other Holidays. I know more Black people who celebrate Saint Patrick's day.

I mean Juneteenth is the day that word reached the south about "freedom" so it would seem down here that we celebrate it a little more than other places...
We good man... you saying you from the DMV says it all... it's really a southern thing I'm thinkingI'm not arguing that it doesn't happen. I'm saying its not made into a big deal from my perspective. I live in the DMV area and visit ATL on and off because of family. Not trying to be disrespectful towards the day and its meaning but I've seen more people mention 420.
To be honest it could also be because people are just not aware of the day being celebrated.
We good man... you saying you from the DMV says it all... it's really a southern thing I'm thinking
Man you're spot on.... because just as much as we're talking about it here there is some black family somewhere asking why they don't celebrate Juneteenth... or some hipster white liberal that's putting 2 and 2 together, wondering why if the emancipation proclamation was signed in 1864 is it celebrated almost a full year later...But should it be a southern thing? When you think on it this was a major event in US history yet it's not even celebrated by black people on a major scale. It makes more sense for black people to celebrate Juneteenth over Independence Day. I'd go as far as saying it should be a Federal Holiday, but we can barely get jobs/states to recognize MLK day. Not saying we need approva from others to recognize the day, but I do think it should be done more by our people.
In my opinion I'll give the show another point for even driving this conversation. Personally I would not have thought about this issue or thought about why I should celebrate/talking Juneteenth especially with younger relatives.
Damn that’s crazy. I know it’s pretty big in Dallas. I never knew that.I've never seen anyone celebrate it or heard of anyone having a party based around it. However, I took it as comparing it to other Holidays. I know more Black people who celebrate Saint Patrick's day.
That’s how it is in Dallas too. I’m tripping......I thought everyone celebrated......Fam where you live? Because here in Houston it's like every year, parades, barbecues, etc...

Houston/other Southern fam, am I wrong?
