Netflix: BlackAF

After watching the first four episodes so far...

My dilemma with the show is while every member of the Harris Family totally suck as individuals, they end up being loving and funny in their own way. They are an absolute disaster. At times, I felt like jumping through my TV and beating DA HELL out of those kids myself. And I know even have kids of my own.

But the show seriously portrays what a lot of US think and won't say in public.

I feel it exposes too much of OUR personal feelings about WHITES and society in general. Some things I would rather WE as Black folks just kept to ourselves. Society doesn't need to know EVERY DAMN THING about US. White folks think they are "experts" on US enough as it is. The thing is that "#BLACKAF" exposes that too.

I love it.

She touches on the points that you made among other observations.

so i sit down for my evening of television. i am pretty much riding out this stay at home shit solo. but that is a long story for another time...

1. watch an episode of warrior. bet. love this shit.

2. catch a few minutes of maddow. check.

3. try to watch a rip of gangs of london. fuck that. this rip is shitty as fuck. no way this is 1080p and it is NOT 5.1.

4. try to find a better rip. no success. then i realize that it hasn't even come out stateside yet and is not on cinemax so i can't even pull it up like that.

5. dink around on my xbox one x. nothing is catching my attn so i bail.

6. pull up extraction on netfix. its cool. but i am not about to sit through it. i watch the first 20 minutes and will revisit. at least it isn't that bullshit ass 6 underground.

7. watch 2 minutes of altered carbon. i can't. its been a long work day and this shit requires me to pay attention.

8. pull up BlackAF.

man, FUCK YALL. this shit is off the chain!

it is smartly written, beautifully filmed and the score is bangin. this shit was a breath of fresh air.

i really think that many of the references were simply not recognized by a majority of people dogging this. i don't even do sitcoms. at all. i watch the -ish family to support and i enjoy it. but sitcoms really aren't my thing minus the ones we grew up with.

i don't see the complaints. this shit is right up my alley.

and seeing it in 4k on a 75 inch dolby vision screen with a 7.1 discreet system made it even better. it looks and sounds as good as it plays out.

yall niggas trippin...

This shit has been going on here forever And its one of the things the irks me. I had to call a cat out on it In another thread. I think they feel rejected. People can date whoever the fuck they want, get over it.

yes I don't get. who cares who they date. i'm glad for anyone who finds happiness in their life.
that shit is stupid but a majority of people on here feel rejected like you say

Was it just me or did the mom end up looking like the victim by the end of the show? Like all the problems was Kenya's fault. Don't get me wrong Kenya is mad problematic, but I felt like Rashida's character brought her own set of issues that NEVER got addressed only explained away.

That was Grandpa Barris girlfriend Tischina > Kj Smith

I just deleted it from my Plex.

Started slow, then got better.

Still felt like Black-ish with cursing.
