This guy...

We've all done this on the playground but he's doing it in the pros and it's working so respect.

I still think the "Nutmeg" is the most overrated move in basketball. It's not that hard to do for a decent ball handler.

Nice move!

And a “Nutmeg” is easy to pull off if the defender’s playing in a proper defensive stance.

You think so?

We’ll see, I know he wants to go back home.

When he was here and they asked him, he said he didn't want to go back to Chicago.

From the start of last season, everything was LA, even the house he bought.

AD couldn't lead shit in NOLA... does CHI have the cap space to put a team around him? I don't think as currently constructed they're that good of a team and adding him alone doesn't make them contenders

he wanna build his legacy he better stay his ass where he's at and be Batman to Lebron's Alfred. He shining right now and it's in large part due to James.

What becomes of him when Lebron retires, he's already 16 years in

AD didn't face much criticism for his lack of leadership in New Orleans, that LA media and fanbase will lambast his ass.

How the city of New Orleans lost Chris Paul and Anthony Davis in eight years

If you can believe it, the New Orleans Pelicans franchise has had two top-five players in the NBA slip through their fingers over the last eight years. First, when they were still the Hornets, they had Chris Paul, who was largely considered the league’s best point guard and was looked upon by many as one of the best players in the game.

They ultimately traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers (after a vetoed trade to the Los Angeles Lakers) just ahead of the lockout-shortened 2011-12 campaign because Paul couldn’t get out of there fast enough (he had been drafted by the franchise in 2004).

Then, this past summer, the Pelicans had a disgruntled Anthony Davis, probably the league’s best big man, whom they dealt to the Lakers.
Two superstars, two trades.

So, just how did that happen?
Well, for starters, New Orleans is not exactly a free-agent hot spot, so convincing players to join the club even with Paul or Davis on the roster was not an easy task (clearly).

Yes, the Hornets had David West and Tyson Chandler playing alongside of Paul in 2008, and the team won 56 games as a result, but they were beaten by the San Antonio Spurs in the second round of the playoffs, and the overall talent disparity was evident.
During Davis’ time in the Bayou? The Pelicans made just two playoff appearances, winning one playoff series. They were able to nab guys like Jrue Holiday and Rajon Rondo to team with Davis, but it simply wasn’t enough in a Western Conference ruled by the Golden State Warriors (who bounced the Pels from the playoffs in 2015 and 2018).

New Orleans also did not draft particularly well during the tenures of both Chris Paul and Anthony Davis, and while it made some decent trades (like Holiday), it was never able to put itself over the top.
Again, that is not necessarily the franchise’s fault, because the area in which they play is not attractive to star players, particularly from a market perspective, but sometimes, you have to play the hand you’re dealt, and the Pels organization did a rather poor job of that.

The Pelicans tried a bunch of things. Eric Gordon. Ryan Anderson. Omer Asik.
None of it worked.

Some of those were flat out bad deals (Asik). Some of those were good additions but were just not enough (Gordon and Anderson).
How much blame do Chris Paul and Anthony Davis deserve? Some, because they were supposed to be top-flight players, and particularly in the case of Davis, it’s a bit damning that he only made the playoffs twice in spite of having somewhat respectable rosters (sometimes), but the amount of responsibility that can be placed on their shoulders is minimal, at most.

Realistically, a perfect storm of events prevented New Orleans from ever truly capitalizing on either player’s talents, and while the front office absolutely merits harsh criticism for the way it handled things both times, it’s still not entirely management’s fault.
Just look at the Milwaukee Bucks right now. They currently have a top-five (at worst) player in the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo, but good luck getting any star players to sign in Milwaukee.

Sometimes, the market dictates your success, and the Hornets/Pelicans found that out the hard way. Twice.

===============================================================================================

Not excusing bad management but this shit basically confirms that it's basically countdown till Giannis is gone.. People bitch about players spending their first years on bad teams but it's next to impossible to get anybody worth a damn to come and play with them while they are there.

He gets a ring with Lebron and he'll have a cushion. Lebron playing prime this year and might have at least another great year in him. That means AD might want to do those Lebron-type contracts with options so he can bounce when Lebron done. Be able to opt out in 2022.

Watching Mr Talc's was walkthrough before the game. Everything he said was bullshit...

I found out earlier today that this piece of shit asked for an extension before Lebron made his decision to leave.

That nigga lying!

He wanted to go to LA then, it’ll be something else later.

He is not going anywhere, you are right.

Brett Brown on Ben Simmons' lack of 3-pointers: 'I have failed'

PHILADELPHIA -- One month ago, Ben Simmonstook -- and made -- his second 3-pointer of the season in a blowout win over the Cleveland Cavaliersat Wells Fargo Center. After the game, Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown declared that he wanted his point guard to take at least one triple per game the rest of the season.
Simmons hasn't attempted one since.
When Brown was asked about that fact before Monday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he admitted that his message had failed to materialize on the court.

"And this is true," he said with a smile. "Evidently I have failed, and it's something that we're all mindful of, and this is one of these things that is never going to go away. The attention this has received is remarkable. But I guess I helped fuel it, and I own it, and I've got to help him find this, and most importantly, he has to find himself."
Simmons has gone 2-for-5 from 3-point range this season, but all three misses were heaves from half court or beyond at the end of a quarter. The two makes were exactly the kind of attempt Philadelphia wants him to take: Simmons caught the ball in the corner, rose up and buried a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer.
The lack of 3-point shooting on Simmons' part is just one of many issues Philadelphia, which came into Monday night's game ranked 16th in the NBA in offensive efficiency, per NBA.com, has dealt with on the offensive end this season.
But while the focus has understandably been on Simmons and his lack of a jump shot -- a consistent theme in his two-plus seasons in the NBA -- Brown said the Sixers as a whole need to shoot more triples and pointed to the players next to Simmons and Joel Embiid in Philadelphia's starting lineup -- Al Horford, Tobias Harris and Josh Richardson -- as the ones who need to do it.
"Of course," Brown said, when asked if he wants his team to make more 3-pointers. "This is where my problem is. This team needs to find more 3-point opportunities. We do. We need to hunt 3s in a more definitive way than we currently are.
"I think the 3-point shot is not about, 'Oh, we need to make more.' We need to take more."
Like I said, Brown has created an atmosphere for Simmons to feel as though he can do what he wants. Or in this case not do what is asked of him. Now if says a lot about Ben too and he is certainly at fault here. Shows a lot of immaturity on his part. A lack of respect for his coaches and teammates as well. Embiid has been telling him to shoot more often from 3 and midrange. It will ultimately help soften things up in the middle. So when your own teammates are telling you you need to do something and you basically refuse your the problem. This now falls in the lap of Elton Brand because obviously Simmons has no respect for Brown whatsoever. The fact the Brown had to answer that question the way he did is fuckin embarrassing. I can't imagine Magic Johnson telling Pat Riley he not gonna do what he asked him or Isaiah Thomas telling Chuck Daley to fuck off when asked to do something on the court. It's really fucked up man. :smh:

Nobodys hit more "clutch" game winners than Melo..Dude is obviously "The GOAT" if he's the best at the greatest metric ever. No one Id rather have with the ball at the end of the game. First 47:45 minutes of a basketball game be damned.

"Harden dont play defense" myth been debunked this year. But since he erasing somebody out of the single season scoring list, its used to discredit him.

Always take the money! Not like you can't demand another trade... (And he most likely wants to stay in LA anyway-- his first trade demand makes no sense otherwise.) He could almost certainly still get a max regardless of any injury but if it cost him, this would be possibly the greatest sports example of attention whoring gone wrong.

I don’t think it’s attention, I guessing dude thinking he could get more by finishing top 5 in mvp, being 1st team, being nba champ...

That same deal will be there or even greater....

Okay, that makes sense, thanks. I forgot that "max" doesn't necessarily mean max.
