I haven't spent much time there. When that "how many people left here and are over at the Coli" thread popped up, I found I had registered there before and forgot about it. I've checked in maybe 20 times.
I'm tempted to say "A thread like this wouldn't work there" but, hell, many times a thread like this doesn't work here. The Coli is worse in a distinct way in how worthless responses with only emojis drown out some conversation. That can substitute for discourse often enough that I don't ever see myself being a "community member" there. (Also, the volume there probably makes it harder to identify particular members or to be more than just another name.)
On the other hand, when I posted a "What's Your Comedy Special Mount Rushmore" thread here this week and got a bunch of "Where's Richard Pryor" replies for the audacity of my own top four consisting of specials that were actually produced in my lifetime, I posted the same thread there and got better feedback. I think that board might be less dogmatic because it's more generationally diverse and also harder for herds to form with the wider group of participation.
Overall, I should skim the surface there more because their much more robust membership produces a lot of conversation on topics that never come up here. I come here a lot more often out of habit but that board would probably be a better first option.
