The cut wasn't as good but that joint was 10 bucks.

That sounds like a good idea!! I dont get it, it seems like at times we are being held back from running in this money race. As if everyone has lite track shoes and we have to run with lead filled combat boots and wearing at 400lbs lead vest!! Maybe there afraid we will take it over and do it 100 times better(like we do with everything we get into) and that scares the shit outta them!! I just cant figure it out, bruh.. It ain’t always what it seems . Yes your charging more per service but your doin less services. In a shop I’m doin 2 heads a hour at 25 each , where as house calls are 50-60 and I’m only doin 1 per hour because i need travel time. But on my off days a house call is 100, and that simply because I’m not finna alter my whole day for one head

But I needed a cut badly.
I text my barber the night before and he told be to be there at 8 sharp the next morning.
I pull up at 8 sharp, he's not there.
He finally drags in at 8:45 with a big ass breakfast plate in hand.
This nigga says: "Say bro I'm hongry, I'm eating my breakfast first. Gimmie 20 minutes"
With ZERO regard for my tight schedule.
It took all of my strength not to just say fuck it and leave.
But my head was looking rough.
Didn't get out the chair until 9:35, and was late to my destination because of it.
I was on style seat a few months ago lookin for someone to give me a taper in the back. I cut my own hair, but I havent mastered tapering yet. Anyway, I peeped this cat's prices and lol'd. I don't knock cats gettin their bread, but I damn sure ain't paying $70 for a chop....or $250 and up for. House call.

Now that I’m sporting a beard god dam prices have gone up smh. I know shop rent has gone up but god dam. Same regular clippers and spray after a cut. No service has gone up. Another thing that Black barbers lack is taking a credit card. Them cash days are fucking over. I stopped fucking with my barber because his card thing was broke smh.

i cut my own hair now. .. but one of the reasons i stopped going was because of this right here... i hate appointment barbershops... part of the experience is going.. waiting your turn and chopping it up with people you barely know....

Cause the shop will close at 6pm and cats will come in at 5:59 and wait to get a cut so then a cat that been there since 9am won't get out until 10pm especially on the weekends

It is a service and they're available by appointment so if you want the service call ahead and make the appointment

When i went walk-in only i would be in the shop 10-12 hours 5 days a week. Once my kids got bigger and i had to be more hands on. Fuck that, appt only. Start at 9/10 lunch at 1/2 close at 7/8 and even with appt it still doesn’t guarantee gettin out the shop on time and in a decent hour cause it’s easy to get backed up
A barbershop is a good way to network with other people, much the same way that country clubs are for whites. I am at a spot now and hearing about other opportunities from just talking to other people. The $30 might be worth it if you factor in your access to information.

Back in the day my Dad owned a barbershop. Nigga ain't have no fucking app and he made way more than these new age niggas. If he closed the shop at 9pm and a nigga came at 8:50 guess what he was cutting that hair. My moms used to be mad as fuck at my dad but he was about getting that paper. Nigga had his shop open 7 days a week getting it.
Man, barbers are not busy during the day while most people are at work and school.
They might go 2-3 hours in between heads during the week.
Especially Monday-Wednesday.
But when its a full house and people are waiting, they're just leaving money on the table.

I saw my barber go thru it he had that "hustlers mentality" and ran himself ragged because he wouldn't have any time to take a break or eat
So from 9am till about 10pm he's cutting heads
Anyone do a Job for 13 hours and no breaks no matter what the job is and see how that feels
So he went to appointments because it makes everything clear.
People need to respect their time and either make an appointment or go in on walk in days
