Steelers offered him a true $17M guaranteed. He got $35 million guaranteed from the Jets. He also didn't have to take the risk of playing and getting hurt on a contract that wasn't guaranteed. Yall fucked up. There is no guarantee that he would have played the full season and not gotten hurt. He's already been through a season that ended early on a major injury.
More years and more salary don't mean shit in the NFL. It's all about guaranteed money. Contracts get reworked all the time and players get cut without ever getting that "salary".

I'm skeptical on Metcalf. Speed is amazing but he did piss poorly in the cone drills which translate to your ability to cut in & out of routes. He's gonna need to work on that big time otherwise he'll just be a 1 trick pony running out routes

It's interesting since the 49ers already have Jerick McKinnon and Matt Breida, who are more than capable, as long as McKinnon recovers from ACL surgery. It sounds like it might have been the Niners just willing to spend money because they had the money. Bell would have been very interesting in Kyle Shanahan's offense, however, but it's all moot now. He's linking up with new coach Adam Gase and Sam Darnold as the Jets' new foundation back.
