Red Dead Redemption 2 (spoilers)

I help as many strangers as I can but I haven't got caught slipping yet.

When I get off my horse to see what's up I'll have that pump shotgun in hand. Nigga run up on me it's dead eye and shotgun blasts for everybody.

And did anybody ever just sit and watch the kkk before going all in? They are a bunch of screw ups on the three stooges level. First time they set a member on fire then all run away scared and screaming. Second time while trying to get ready for the meet up while trying to stand up the cross it falls and crushes the people that were trying to stand it up.

And arthur hates slavery... I unknowingly did a side mission where I go get a ledger for this old dude and it was a slave ledger.
He was PISSED when he opened it and saw what it was.

Arthur brought the stuff back to him, threw the ledger in the camp fire and talked a lil shit to dude in the process.
Wait until you run into the 400 pound pig farmer and his so called wife.

I'll add that you should always take the time to go to fire and cook your game meat. Game meat will restore more of your core... while the canned food will restore a small amount.
Good call. Absolutely.

And using the 'recipes' when you cook game meat restores even MORE of your core.
(The icon will turn yellow if you have an 'extra boost' to your stats, instead of white.)

I forgot to mention that. Thanks.

Dunno how it happened to him :dunno:... but I can verify there are SEVERAL different ways you can 'get jacked'.
  • Sometimes there is a discussion, first.
  • Sometimes, you have the opportunity to fight back.
  • Sometimes, you get ambushed & they already have their guns drawn. :smh:
  • Sometimes, you have the opportunity to 'refuse' to help a stranger who might seem kinda 'sketchy'. :dunno:
  • Sometimes, you merely just 'approach' a stranger and get mollywhopped from behind (once you get close enough, before you can even 'interact' with them)... without any hesitation or warning.
It all depends. :dunno:

I asked cuz it seems unfair to lose that much $$$ ($5000) during a random cutscene w/o a chance to fight back or do anything about it

ya it was the same shit w/ “breath of the wild” (I hate to keep bringing the game up but there are just too many similarities)...cooked food provides more sustenance than eating it as is

Im trying my best to get animal fat so i can craft them explosive cartridges.

If yall aint used them yet... its a visual spectacle...

:yes::yes:

You usually get animal fat every time you skin an animal (like a deer) and store it on your horse. :dunno:

You can also get animal fat from Ox, Cows, Bears, Boars, Beavers, Ducks, Geese, Javelinas, Pigs, Wild Boars, and Wild Turkeys, I think.

Go to a farm. Rope /Steal / Kill a few pigs.

NOTE: Be sure there is room in your inventory tho, because if your inventory is full & you are carrying the max amount of raw meat you can hold, then animal fat is one of the things you might not keep if you ever get a message that says: "Cannot harvest all parts of the animal. Not all of this animal's parts will be stored in your inventory."

I rescued the prisoner in the gunsmith basement. I hogtied the shop keeper then stabbed him in the head with my knife. My Lancaster was missing from my inventory so I went to get another one. I walked in the store about a day or two after I stabbed him and the shop keeper has his head wrapped in bandages.

no fat in deer / bucks or turkeys

without upgrading your satchel you can carry max of 5 animal fat at a time

If you don't attack /harm that gunsmith he allows you to clean out the register and take as much ammo as you can carry for free - also gives discounts on future purchases

Randomly exploring is crazy. I walked up on this one house, it was a black guy and son arguing. Something wouldn't let me kill the black father, so I hog tied him and his son went in the back room. I still took their money tho. I cut him loose and he tried to cut me to death. So I hogtied him again and dipped lol.

Spoiler from Reddit about the same event

I went to some random home and some guy gave me lip for snooping around so I shot him in the face. His son came out so I ran off with my Wanted. I crept around the house and looted all the rooms whilst the lad was outside crying. Anyway, about an in-game week later, I ride by and remember the house and go back in to see if I missed anything. I go into one of the bedrooms and the teenage son is on the bed and shouts at me for killing his father and I panic and try to Defuse the situation but blow his head off by accident. Felt bad. Picked up something I missed though, Shotgun above the fireplace. Anyway, another in-game week passes and I ride by again and decide to go have a look. And the house is empty of furniture with the odd drawer here and there. I wiped out this innocent household and the game adjusted the environment to it. But the fact that the things I opened on my first visit were still open on my second and that the game remembered my actions, was great.

Yeap when you ride during a windy storm ... Arthur will hold on to his hat and pull his jacket in closer.

I also noticed Arthur singing to himself when I was out hunting the wolf this morning.
Man I was out riding my horse and I here some dude sing8a song. In looking around like who the fuck is out here with me. Then I'm like oh shit Arthur singing to himself.

dude asked me to take him to strawberry...i said ok ....tried to get back on my horse buy i choked him instead

he was gone snitch so i shot him lol

wonder what story i missed out on haha!

Damn well I still cleaned out the register and got a discount on my new Lancaster. The discount probably came from having positive honor.

What dual weapons/sidearms are y'all using? I picked up the volcanic pistol the other day. It packs a good punch. Still using the start pistol. Gonna go and experiment with the sawed off as a side arm. I got the gold gun from the gunslinger side mission who you dual on train with also.

The father owes the gang money

Was it the guy in all black talking like he was an accountant or something? We all run into him when you head to help Micah from his predicament.

The son was grateful I didn't kill his father and thanked me for not killing him too.

First, I started off using the sawed off shotgun + a Revolver as my dual wield.
You can chop folks down @ close range with the shotty... or split their wig apart (from distance) with a Revolver.
Nice combo.

Then after awhile, I switched to using 2 Schofield pistols. This was awesome.
The reload rate was a lot faster than the Shotty+Revolver combo.

But now I'm using 2 pistols taken from 2 of the dead bodies of Famous Gunslingers.
I like their fast reload rate, their range & the damage they do.
Plus the engraving / designs are very cool.

But I might go back to using a pair of Schofield Revolvers. I got real comfortable using those.

SIDENOTE: WEAPONS TIP >> I just learned that you can configure a 'default set' of weapons you are carrying, every time you dismount your horse.

For those who do not know....

1 - Visit any Gun Shop.
2 - Select "Customize"

3 - On the Customization screen, you can choose which (default) Weapon to carry on your back & on your shoulder, plus you can choose each pistol you want to carry, and select a different default 'melee' weapon (i.e a knife, or hatchet, or axe, or tomahawk, or whatever).

If you do this... every time you dismount your horse, you will know exactly which weapons you are carrying  so you don't have to scramble back to pick up that shotgun, or that bow you might've left behind.

Not sure if everyone else knew this. :dunno:
Sshheeeiiit.... I been playing for a whole week... and I just learned this.

Hope this helps.

People on Reddit say its not permanent. Eventually you'll have to do it again.
