Red Dead Redemption 2 (spoilers)

Had to come back to this question. Red Dead is miles ahead of GTA 5. There were GTA missions that were a bore to do because of the story that they were telling. Some GTA 5 missions didn't even lead to an action sequence. GTA 5 is a satire of America where RDR2 is the story of being an outlaw on the run from the law. I'm 3 chapters deep and there hasn't been one boring mission or side activity that stands out.

I haven’t been bored for one second. Even when I’m just riding with no place to go. I’m in awe just with the weather. This has to be some of the best weather in the business.

You have to use the map in your satchel to find the general area.

It will only show up on the map when you enter the surrounding area. Then it will only show up at certain zoom levels.
Oh so I dont have unlock anything or be in a certain chapter to see them on the map?

Bruh I'm in here like wtf did I ignore. Looks like my girl got jealous of you posting all these fine hoes and ignored you. Like I wouldn't notice

Where to Find THAT Rockstar Easter Egg in Red Dead Redemption 2
BY TOM CHAPMAN – ON NOV 03, 2018 IN GAME NEWS

Red Dead Redemption 2 players can enjoy a blast from the past as the game once again includes Rockstar Games' long-running Bigfoot Easter egg. The latest game in the Red Dead Redemption franchise has taken open-world gaming to the next level, meaning the impressive story campaign is only the start of what can be found in the dusty plains of the Old West.

The legacy of Bigfoot/Sasquatch has become something of a running joke in the world of Rockstar Games. Weaving an unusual thread through their games, the hairy giant has become a staple within the video game company since 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, later going on to appear in Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Grand Theft Auto V. And, though Bigfoot is undoubtedly more difficult to see in person in the prequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption, the creature is - at the very least - much friendlier than usual.

For any gamers willing to step off the beaten track and find the large-shoed Sasquatch, YouTube channel Video Game Sophistry has mapped out a fairly simple path to Bigfoot. Before tracking the hulking hairball, players need to have studied at least 30 animals before they'll be granted the opportunity to find him. Then, after following a peculiar flock of birds to the very north of the map, players will finally discover a cave blocked off by a large boulder near the Calumet Ravine. There, players will hear the unmistakable voice of a distant stranger (in this case, Bigfoot himself) call out and say, "Hello there, friend. How are you?"

Now, as exciting as it might be to find Bigfoot, his backstory story is a depressing one, telling Arthur that he doesn't have any friends on account of his unusual size. This ultimately prompts Bigfoot to ask Arthur if he will consider being his friend, though the only opportunity to strike up a longer conversation requires the player to return three in-game days later. During the second conversation, players learn that Arthur had been looking for a wife, but gave up hope on account of the cruel women he's come across. It's unclear whether or not this is the end of the Bigfoot story in Red Dead Redemption 2 or if his appearance somehow ties into Red Dead Redemption.

The inclusion of Bigfoot in Red Dead Redemption 2 cements the ties between Rockstar's popular catalog of games. While gamers shouldn't expect to see characters like Grand Theft Auto V's Trevor Philips pop up in Red Dead Redemption 2, that's not to say that one of his ruthless ancestors isn't out there somewhere. Rockstar promised a kind of open world that fans have never experienced before, and - with its impressive array of Easter eggs that include everything from UFO sightings to The Jungle Book's Kaa - Red Dead Redemption 2 certainly lives up to the hype.

Man this shit on Xbox one X is a gawd damn marvel and I don’t even have 4K...

I have never in my life seen draw distance like this. Never..

I don’t know how it is on the PS4 pro but I can attest that this is the best looking and best sounding game on Xbox by far.

My only fucking complaint is this satchel shit...

I ain’t got time to collect all these perfect animal pelts so I can get Peterson to make me the satchel to increase my inventory.

That is probably the one thing that I’m refusing to do In this game. I’d rather just buy a better satchel.

I’m not tracking down a gawd damn squirrel and rabbit..

Yeah the least impressive version is on the OG Xbox one then the PS4. After that the Xbox X & S are where the game shines. I still have the OG Xbox and it still looks amazing. You can see light shine thought nose and ear cartilage. Nothing like riding in the early morning with the sun beaming down through trees.

I got the basic PS4 and a Samsung smart tv.

It’s not 4K so I’m missing out

Famn... for me..

Its at sunset right when you hear a storm on the horizon ... down in Saint Denis ..

That shit is fucking gorgeous... This morning.. I saw a lighting strike.

Its crazy.. that in most games.. I'm all about going online and immediately finding quick ways to get to shit, but this is first game that I've rarely looked online.

Outside of the money glitch and instructions... I've avoided the online maps.

I generally love fucking exploring and getting that feeling when you come across some hidden shit.

Like the underground mining near the Oil rigs.

When I was in the swamp before playing the mission with the gator the notification said something like you are in the area of a legendary creature, but the area is too busy to track this animal. Normally it just says you are in the area and your map will be updated.

So it will likely update the map, but not let you kill any animal or catch any fish that is part of a mission.

Bruh, This game is a Masterpiece. Seriously.

When you first start playing, the pacing is a little slower than GTA games.

But that is because there is sooo much to do... that you quickly become completely immersed in the 'time period', the scenery, the storylines & the game mechanics ... that if you were just running around constantly 'causing chaos' non-stop, right off the bat like you do in most GTA games.... you would probably miss out on all the little nuances & details that make it highly enjoyable.

It's the 'little details' that matter...
  • The voice acting, directing & soundtrack is phenomenal.
  • The 'transitions' from cutscenes to actual 'live' game action is seamless.
  • Even the side missions have their own unique mechanics, storylines & interesting characters.
  • The 'attention to detail' is top notch... if you get injured/beat up badly... new scars & wounds are even visible in the cutscenes.
  • Rockstar used over 1,000+ actors/extras... just to do voices, dialogue & motion capture for the various CPU characters in all the towns & side missions... so everywhere you go, people usually have something 'new' to say, in response to you.
Speaking of small details that affect gameplay... there is an "Honor Meter" which tracks your behavior in the game.
  • If you make 'honorable' choices, like helping out various members of your gang, or helping out random strangers... it will increase.
  • If you want to go full savage & make 'dishonorable' choices, like constantly robbing folks & causing mayhem... it will decrease.
  • Even the Music Soundtrack playing in the background as you play the game will CHANGE, based on the level of the Honor Meter.
  • So the background music always fits your style of play.
  • It can be aggressive, or hopeful, or tranquil, or noble, or ominous, or whatever.

Plus, there are additional benefits to how you want to play (whether honorably, or immorally ) as seen in the video below...

If you like the Western Movie genre... (even a little bit)... cop this game.
You won't be disappointed. :smh::rolleyes:

And I haven't even played very much of the actual story... I rarely fast travel unless I'm trying to do something VERY specific... Most times I catch the trails, just me and my horse Breezy... Riding, hunting, fishing... Doing side jobs... Freeing all prisoners in jail coaches being transported, getting ambushed by O'Driscolls... Doing side missions... Pulling up on every camp fire I see and just talking to the people...

I can't lie, the level of detail in this game is next level...

Agreed. Seeing those 'lightning strikes' far off in the distance.... is incredible.:yes:

Btw, have you been in Saint Denis... during 'high winds'? :dunno:

On a very windy day... I noticed Arthur (and the CPU civilians) will 'lean forward' (while walking, or on horseback) and hold onto their hats... to avoid having them being blown off their heads... by a sudden GUST of wind.

I was like:"Oh shit. My man Arthur (and everyone else on the street) is actually LEANIN' into the wind...... HARD.":D

When this shit goes online I can only imagine white dots rage quitting after the BGOL crews pop them, run their pockets, and most importantly of all steal their horses:D. I bet the vs mode online will be crack:eek2::eek: People's Mustangs and Arabians will stay getting stole:D. I wonder how R* will account for that?

Some of the details of the online multiplayer version have already been leaked.
From the leaked info, it seems RDR2 Online will include 'vehicles', a 'housing system' and 'businesses' that you can own.

If so, horses & vehicles might re-spawn at your base, if they get stolen / or destroyed. :dunno:
Not sure tho. Just a guess. :dunno:
