Yes, she did act reckless in the fact that, if she truly thought someone was in her apartment, why didn't she call for help, apparantly there are a few cops who resided in that building and maybe security. The man would have been trapped, so he wasnt going anywhere other than out a window, which hes still trapped or the threat is gone. Witnesses claim they heard her yell open up at least twice. She has been officially arrested and charged with manslaughter. I'm sure the victims family will seek to have the charge changed to murder. Because that's exactly what happened.

Well, that’s where the personal injury lawyers come in. She will live a miserable and broke life when she gets out.
I still don't get it. Why did she have her uniform on if she's off duty? If he lived in the apartment above her, was there a noise complaint? Was his music too loud? I hear they have different locks and a different carpet. Where was his body when shot?
Murder would be ideal but how does one prove premeditation if she truly went to the wrong apt as she claims?
Officers routinely wear uniform when coming to and from work. They can even take squad cars home. I lived down the street from one at one time and I swear the only time I saw him out of uniform was when he was cutting grass. He wore it with pride, almost to the point of showing it off.
There is more details released. She drove to the wrong parking level with her car. So the parking garage is adjacent to the floors. There was no noise complaint. She claims that she thought it was hers since it is in the same location as the victim's just one level lower.
He was shot in the chest which is standard for police training (center mass).
This part is not 100% confirmed but the report was she was struggling with the lock because her key didn't work. Jean heard the commotion outside of his door and opened it. That is when she shot him.
But like I said previously, even if she was startled by him a thought he was an intruder, she is trained to quickly assess the situation, draw her weapon, and state verbal commands like "Hands up" or "Get down". Seems like she just pulled her weapon and started blasting. Which, as an officer, is extremely incompetent.
I know everyone wants a murder charge. But manslaughter is the correct charge against her claim of her thinking the apartment was her own.

She was arrested at the instructions of the FBI. Her department wanted nothing to do with her case. (her claims are that weak) This is why the family needs a good lawyer. A good lawyer will rip this case apart. No question there's some shady shit going on. Even the FBI is low balling her charge.

The apartment was dark and when she saw "a large silhouette," Guyger thought she was being burglarized, the affidavit says.
The affidavit says Guyger drew her gun, "gave verbal commands that were ignored" and fired twice. Jean was struck once in the torso.
Guyger then called 911 from her cellphone and started performing first aid. She turned on the lights, then went to the front door again and realized the apartment wasn't hers, the affidavit says.
