Netfix: OZARK Season 4 Discussion Thread (spoilers) (season 4 trailer!!) (drops 1/21/2022)

Jessica jones mom is cold...

She keeps talking bout "my client" I thought at one point that she was the boss

Wendy and her share a mutual respect
I didn't pick up on that hoe being Jessica's mom either. But I didn't finish the most recent season of J.J. I thought Jessica's parents were killed in the accident.

ok...lemme chill...haven’t bumped into any major spoilers yet but I’m only 2 eps in and the discussion is above my “pay grade” @ this point

This is kind of off topic but something that "affected" me watching Ozark and just a warning to some of yall.

Back by the end of Aug I got an email from Comcast saying that I'm at 90% data usage for the month. So I never noticed or looked at my data caps. But I get 1 terabyte a month from Comcast/Xfinity.

So being that this was going on, I waited til Saturday which was Sept 1st to watch Ozark.

By the end of the day which was a new cycle for my data plan, I saw we used up 110gb in ONE day.

So I looked up the average data for a Netflix video on UltraHD. It is 7-8gb per hour. So watching Ozark in 4k definition will eat up your data. Or any show for that matter in UltraHD. If you have the UltraHD.

Just a heads up.

I'm watching Jack Ryan now, but took it off from directly watching it on Prime and using the alternative apps like Terrarium or others. Still in 1080p and about a GB an hour. Less than half of Amazon Prime HD per hour movie data usage.

Just watch your data usage and see how things are. I have 4 peeps in the crib all using majority of vid stuff, youtube, Netflix and my son streams vid games and makes vids for YouTube. So I started to cuss him out for going buckwild while he was home all day for summer but now I see the true bandwidth killer is Netflix.

I looked it up, if you have a business plan then you're unlimited. But the normal plans have 1TB and you can quickly eat that up watching it with 8gb an hour watching series like this.

Using 100gb for one day I seriously thought someone cloned my modem until I looked up the average data for a Netflix UltraHD stream.

Spoiler**********

The Lawyer/Cartel knew about the Gold Coast. Marty was googling shit and the attorney let it be known. They had to stay.... I hope Ruth and Marty don’t go to war next year over Cade.

Shit to watch for next season: Look out for Wyatt Langmore
because he was the one who got everything going for him, and now that Ruth revealed that she killed his dad, he may go down the path of crime like his dad and uncle and this is gonna affect his relationship with Charlotte
Darlene may play another major role, and also they may finally reveal Omar Navarro and more from the
Kansas City Mobb

Jacob was right. Damn, I didn't expect that. Darlene :smh:

Charlotte is annoying as fuck. They always have to have an annoying kid on the show

I expected the Cade shit

I didn't expect the Petty shit. It was about time though. His mom is going to be all fucked up...a mummy and shit...still waiting

Yeah, I though he was about to pull out the shank on her right before he went down.

Nigga Jacob literally brought a knife to a gunfight. He was toast episode 9/10 last season when he let the “Mexican”speak ill in the House.

just about continuity, wouldn't the real FBI of raided all his businesses and not only his crib? They know he owns the bar, skrip club and what not. Made no sense. But still watching...
I'm lost on the timeline..but didn't Petty decide to go in after Rachel talked to Ruthie on the wire and said something about Marty taking his bag to the house? That may not be completely right, but I think the raid definitely came after that, so whatever that convo was, probably explains why Petty went in. Marty is precise with the paperwork, so maybe they know that would be a waste of time.

Doesn't matter. They spoke about all his routing of money and who owned each different biz. They were all Byrde Enterprises. I'm just saying in real and present day, a real FBI raid they not only searching 6iur crib, but they will seize any biz they assume you have until they complete their investigation (means find something).

:smh:- they only have Byrd as investor in the businesses - but could never see how the money was getting back to the cartel - without the books for that or the cash - there is no crime

the show was accurate - irl - the gov't can't seize anything without a court order - and there needs to be evidence of a pattern of financial crimes - enough to get a grand jury indictment and convince a judge to sign off for the fbi & marshalls to take property .

In this series the fbi never had enough on Marty to arrest him - and all ways fell short of getting enough for a grand jury indictment

We talking two diff things.

They seized items from his house so not sure what you mean by they can't seize without an order. They need one to have a search warrant, they had. And seized his pc. Remember they had the vid of his wife fucking?

The other thing of his businesses, yall gonna make me look back at the previous episodes, think it was the 3rd or 4th when Petty had a flow chart showing the ties and he wasn't sure how the money was being funneled, but he knew he was owner of the titty bar and the bar with Rachel.

All I'm saying typical consistency with how they do stuff, is if they suspect you, they won't only raid your home but your businesses as well, where you were going from "home to work and work to home". Just common sense.

He ain't laundering money out his crib. They are well aware he had those businesses.

Just finished and this might be up there with the 4th season of breaking bad....

you are confusing property seizure with evidence collection
during the raid the feds only took anything they thought was evidence: cash, files, books or potentially contained evidence (laptops etc) - all of that stuff would be returned since they have nothing on Marty
If it was a seizure - Marty would have been arrested because there needs to be a grand jury indictment of financial crimes to get an order for property seizure.
the Marshalls would have seized the bank accounts, cars, house and put a seal on all entrances - and shuttered the businesses including Marty's new offices

The other thing of his businesses, yall gonna make me look back at the previous episodes, think it was the 3rd or 4th when Petty had a flow chart showing the ties and he wasn't sure how the money was being funneled, but he knew he was owner of the titty bar and the bar with Rachel.
as I posted before - Marty's businesses are not illegal.
FBI has to prove laundering or other financial crimes - and without :
the books,
complete end to end bank transaction records,
or the cash - there is no proof of any crimes Marty is commiting

That's why they couldn't arrest him last season nor this season - and why agent fag was so frustrated....
the closest they got to Marty was his partner in Chicago that was snitching to the feds - but without any corroboration what ever he told the feds isn't enough
He ain't laundering money out his crib. They are well aware he had those businesses.
Marty is laundering money everywhere... including that house
but he keeps his "books" seperate from the crib and the cash... and he keeps the key banking info in his head and he has been training Ruth to memorize it too

In agreement with all you said, so maybe I'm just not getting something.

You have a couple of investment companies which bought a few local businesses. You think the FBI will only raid your crib? Not your businesses?

That's all I'm asking. That's all I thought was inconsistent in the storyline.

To get a search warrant the FBI needs enough probable cause to get a judge to sign off on it

the FBI got the warrant for Marty's house based on Ruth acknowledging financial crimes and said into Rachel's wire: Marty takes the cash and books straight home.

There was never probable cause for the other businesses - so no judge would give the FBI warrants to raid them

Ok I'll take that

Oh, ok. I thought he was so good as hiding shit with paperwork that legally they couldn't touch all of them yet.

I'm hoping there is another season, but this finale makes me think they tied up too many loose ends. Only threat out there is the mob and his wife could make one phone call to the cartel's lawyer and have that straightened out.

Nah, cartel don't want that mob war. The mob is more connected in the states especially to politics and probably got more legal strings to pulls on the operation. They gone have to work it out with Wilks to let the union get in on the jobs or Wilks will probably be taking that dirt nap if he's that hard on the right-to-work shit.

The fact that the mob is now involved takes this show to yet ANOTHER level

The cartel don't want it with the mob? If you mean they don't want to war on turf that's not theirs...maybe..but the drug cartel be having connections to federal government like a muthafucka in real life. They show it a little in shows like Narcos and Power. The mob be in shit like state government, union shops, docks, imports and shit like that. But I see the mob being maybe just two notches more trouble to the mob than Darlene and her husband may he rest in peace. The mob is to a state or two what the Snells are to the Ozarks

Was on the edge of my seat the entire series!!! Major props to Jason Bateman and the whole production team. The acting in this series was amazing. Can’t wait for season 3!

saw this yesterday .....

3rd "might " be the last ..... :dunno: shall we now start predicting/wager a conclusion ?
