Uber self-driving vehicle hits, kills pedestrian in Arizona

I will say this a million times! Self driving cars will never exist! There are too many variables that computers and cameras can not calculate in enough time to save lives.

There will be law firms dedicated to suing the shit out of any manufacturer that decides to put out autonomous vehicles.:smh:
Yup. The new mesothelioma.

:dunno: What's the sense of having an operator behind the wheel if they're not going to hit the brakes to avoid these types of accidents? :dunno:

They'll take a lil break until the heat dies down, pay some claims...then back to the killing streets, until self-driving tech can say they are .001% safer than humans and then it's wrap..

theres mountains at 35000 ft?
nevermind man, you win
hey - its ok - I guess by your logic:
planes always fly at 35k feet even for destinations under 600 miles away...
continuing by your logic every city's airport must be at or below sea level...
guess air traffic controllers don't issue directions and course changes at the altitudes you imagine...
and there are definitely no worries of traffic or severe weather at those altitudes either

So you trust the people thats eating, texting, intoxicated, doing their makeup, Etc while driving? These are the causes of massacres we have every day on our roadways
Exactly. People act like most accidents are caused because of mechanical failure. :smh: People just do dumb fucking shit. Leaving late is bad enough, but then these maniacs do every fucking thing but pay attention while trying to arrive somewhere on time. I'm talking drivers and pedestrians.

Folks half sleep driving and walking around. Turn signals are fucking optional. People walking and driving just see traffic signals change and automatically go without checking. I'm in Ohio and folks act like 4 wheel drive means they can drive like maniacs with snow and ice on the ground. Stopping is overrated to them. :smh:

Machines will be much more capable than people.

Wonder which one or both was fucking around on their phone????

thats what them greedy fucks get ....

hope the family sue the fuck out of them
And win something for jay walking ???:dunno:
"....woman who was walking outside of the crosswalk...."

You need to study airlines some more before you began your gross generalizations. Those planes at their rate of speeds are very close to each other. There is a reason you need air traffic control. And again the same computers that are controlling these cars are the ones that keep these planes from crashing into your "dedicated ribbons, with animals, people, and other hazards"

Until you have planes tail to nose for extended amounts of time, with foot traffic, random hazards, animals and the sheer numbers per square mile in the air and seas... You're reaching. You want to be right on this issue and I understand. But they are not, nor will they ever be similar enough to use as an argument.

When one of these self driving blow up a block they will be outlawed.

not trying to argue about killing kids with you, fam. I'm merely pointing out both sides.
I get it. I'm not in favor, or really opposed to it either. But I can see the differences between autopiloted ships and planes, and road cars with everything cars on the road have to account for. I simply don't belive in the angle of "it works for planes, trains, and ships so it's cool for cars."

I don't remember using that angle

Unfortunately tragedy is very much needed in the advancement of technology. Self driving cars are the future and like airplanes each accident will be used to push the tech forward.
As long as it's optional because I can out drive any damn self dtiving car they can invent. And I like to drive.

Tesla been had self driving cars.

The pedestrian assumed a human driver would see them. They also need to put some lights on the car when it goes into autonomous mode. You can tell by the Lidar setup but some cars have cameras hidden throughout the car.

Cats are so old-fashioned.

Fully autonomous vehicles on the road WILL happen in our lifetime.

(I do think that the transition to electric cars will occur first though).

Once in a blue-moon accidents are not going to stop technological innovation.

Old-fashioned if you are worried about being rear ended by someone playing Spades in a Tesla and the car nor the driver activates the brake and slams into me and my family at 60mph because we should trust in Skynet!!!

I'll pass....

Plus, a truck is an 80,000lb weapon more dangerous than any gun created. Imaging the massive damage a FULLY autonomous fully loaded semi truck would do if it slams into traffic at speed!!!

The only thing that should be fully autonomous is an aircraft since they are on auto pilot for 95% of the time

Not this person.

you too?
autopilot is not autonomous... not even close yet

autopilot will only follow the flight plan as programmed by the pilot
it does not react to atc
it does not react to conditions nor obstacles not even if there is a risk of imminent in air impact or grounding

ALL unplanned adjustments are entered by the pilots enroute - not a computer

autonomous cars will automatically deviate and adjust navigation
based on data from gps and live traffic reporting via google or similar service
in addition to navigation, autonomous cars react to road conditions, and all obstacles in its vicinity

You niggas who never worked for a airlines and know all about how aviation works are hilarious

I want to continue reading about this “auto” pilot more tho.

Please tell me about how the “auto” pilot goes about traveling without knowing the weather, weight, and fuel portions.

Man you know what I meant lol

Of course it doesn’t react to ATC.. however aircraft can take off and land on auto pilot

That’s all I’m saying, pilots still need to follow ATC directions in controlled airspace

Shut up nigga you work on the tugs for gate push back

My side is hurting now

Auto pilot taxis the runway and the ramp??????

LMAO
