Man Ibeabuchi was the biggest disappointment of all of them IMO.
We were robbed of some great fights due to him getting locked up.
He was a monster in the making but he was an idiot.

Yes indeed! Easily the biggest threat the to any heavyweight with a title. I'm not sure how he woulda fared against Vitaly, but I see him wearing down and KO'ing Wladimir.

I like Wilder but he is horribly flawed. He's an American and I support him. I like the way he fights. I like punchers. I think of him as this generation's Ernie Shavers. He's a great puncher and would be in any generation but he is flawed.

I'm trying to figure out why Mike Tyson is supposedly over-rated. Is it because some feel that he's the greatest heavyweight of all time or is he over-rated because most believe him to be one of the greatest of all time? I'll concede that he isn't the greatest of all time but a prime Mike Tyson would of been a problem for anybody, ANYBODY. Mike's prime was considerably shortened by his drug abuse. It takes a lot for a short fighter to work his way in and if you're not shape, you're going to hit. If your legs aren't what they're supposed to be, you can't get under punches, you're in trouble and that's what happened to Tyson.

If some one was to tell me they didn't include Tyson as one of the top 7 Heavyweights of all time, I would be like "Ok, I can respect that". He might not even be on my list if I had to rate them but I would not bet against him with any one of them. He's even money with all of them.

A prime Mike Tyson against Wilder. Both are great punchers but the probability that Tyson gets there first is tremendous. It wouldn't make a difference if Tyson couldn't take his best, it's far more likely Tyson is going to get to him often and early. Mike started a great defensive fighter, he didn't become one dimension until his lifestyle caught up with him. Mike will get to Wilder before Wilder gets to him.

Wilder is 6'7
Tyson is 5'10

Tyson struggled against Mitch Green, Tillis, BoneCrusher Smith and any other tall fighter with decent talent.
And none of those mofos hit like Wilder.
Then consider that once Mike got popped in the mouth he always folded. Hell he quit against Holyfield and they were the same size
Mike is a media creation that dazzled when a weak division was transitioning.
Hell I dont think he beats Larry Holmes if Holmes wouldve took a tuneup fight after being retired.
Tyson is the most overrated fighter in history.

Coons hated on Floyd too.
The haters jumped from Floyd, to Ward temporarily, and now Wilder.
Americans make me sick when it comes to boxing.
No other country would openly root against their biggest stars like Americans do.

yep
they will pay to see you lose tho..floyd learned to cash in that way
meanwhile AJ is a superstar in england by just being nice
smh

Wilder is taller, so what?

Everybody Tyson beat was taller than him.

Short fighters beat taller fighters a lot. Tall fighters fight tall, short fighters want to get lower. Wilder is so flawed that's not as big as an advantage as you might think.

Tyson didn't struggle with Mitch Green, Jaime Tillis or Bonecrusher. All they did was hold. Those fights weren't close at all. (Funny Story, I knew a guy that was Mitch Green's training camp who said he threw the fight)

Tyson might not be able to take Wilder's punch but can Wilder take this? A prime Tyson was a superior fighter, it's far more likely that Tyson was going to get there first.

I like Wilder, his fights are always going to be entertaining. He's got the power to knock anybody out. I stopped questioning him a couple of years ago, I knew he was the real deal but don't get too far ahead. But honestly, Wilder just had a life and death fight against a 40 year old who had only beaten 1 contender. And he was probably on PEDs when he beat him.

Mitch Green, Quick Tillis, and Tony Tucker did not hold. Bonecrusher did hold the entire fight but almost knocked Tyson out in the last 30 seconds. This fight wasn't exactly life and death because Wilder NEVER went down.

Even during the adversity he still stayed calm. It takes him a long time to figure out southpaws. Yep he beat a 39 year old undefeated HW that everyone else in the division has purposely avoided. Ortiz probably beats any HW in the world tonight not named Deontay Wilder.

I'd love to see a Wilder/Tyson fight. Wilder may not be able to just stick his paw out there to find range for his right against Tyson. His head movement, and movement in general was amazing back then.

we alabamians stay cheering on deonte....happy for him and hope this fight gets him the recognition he deserves

So wilder needs to step his trainer game up all those wild punches and running up on an opponent after you get a good punch in or think you got a good punch in will catch up with him sooner or later.

That last uppercut was vicious. King Kong did all he could do to stay in that fight but when he didn’t finish him off it was only a matter of time

Why do boxers let they kids sit ringside and watch them take a beating; did you see that little girls face after the first knock down?

No body punching and hands never up, but that motherfucker can punch. That shit corrects all of his flaws. I like Wilder and was worried that he was only 215. That has to catch up to him eventually. It was an entertaining fight and Ortiz is a good fighter with nothing to be ashamed of. Wilder isn't likely to change the way he fights. Joshua is flawed too, he's just bigger. Somebody is going to sleep. I got Wilder winning in the 8th.

Wilder is delusional...talking about beating a prime Mike Tyson...Lennox woulda destroyed this no-technical skills ass dude as well...he is a beneficiary of being in a different generation from Tyson, Holyfield, and Lewis

All of this shit you are saying is waaay past his prime. He woulda destroyed Holyfield in prime and not on mental health meds...they made this nigga take meds before his fight...it was contracted if I am correct

Wilder has a great chin and he can punch. Sometimes that's all you need in the heavyweight division. he's average at best as a "boxer" though. He's way too wild and leave his guard down too much

People hated Ward? I know CACs would hate on boxingscene and shit like that (especially after the Kov 1st right) but never felt like dude was hated.

Peace,

Why do boxers let they kids sit ringside and watch them take a beating; did you see that little girls face after the first knock down?

These are some of the most confident people in the world. They probably figure that it will give them extra incentive to win.
