charlo is aggressive too
listen in the first few rounds danny was waiting for ggg to engage first
once danny started firing first it was easy work
like you said ggg cannot fight going backwards; he looks to tie you up or he goes into the guard
and why is that? he's flat footed so he cant generate any power when he's going back
dude is really a basic fucking fighter but he is strong and he has a great beard
Oh shit that's right I forgot Charlo just moved up. That would be a real good fight right there.

That's what I watched it on and I believe one of the commentators had him up before rounds
I think Jacobs won as well but the U.K. Cats that score on there, especially the former fighters like Froch, are absolutely horrible at it so they aren't a good example when it comes to actual scoring but in their opinion Jacob took it. I agree with that.

I agree, but GGG and his camp said they'd fight anyone up to 168 and would drop down to 154 for the Mayweather sweepstakes. But when Ward wanted to fight all you heard was crickets.
Shoulda been crickets... These Dudes don't fight for pleasure or to make us excited, they fight for money. No doubt for the payday Mayweather would have brought, it made sense for Dude to drop down to 154 to fight him. Didn't make sense for him to go up to fight Ward at 168, Wards natural weight, for a fraction of the bread. Anybody who would argue that is living in a fantasy world... doesn't make GGG a bitch, it makes him a man in his mid-30s who is trying to financially capitalize on his opportunities because he knows his career window is closing...

Golovkin purse was $2.5mil and Jacobs $1.75mil. Golovkin knows the only money fights left at 160 is either the 2 brits in Saunders and Eubank besides the obvious Canelo mega money fight

WTF? The fight went the distance :eek2:
So Triple GGG got exposed last night

Props to this Jacobs cat

Ain't been round these parts in a year and it's good to see that BGOL is still one of the only places where people actually know boxing. GGG didn't get exposed if you know boxing. We were saying it the whole time. He hadn't beaten anybody.

I just think Ward clears out all those guys at Light Heavy. And then the next challenge for a fight I'd wanna see would be against Usyk. Remember Chad Dawson fought Adamek who was a Cruiser and beat Adamek. Wards even said long term wise the plan always was for him to move to HW

I know Ward said he wanted to fight at light heavy, but that was years ago when he was ruling the roost at 168.

There are 3 or 4 guys that he still needs to get through before he clears out 175lbs. At minimum, that's a couple of years down the road.

Ward's getting up there in age, and while he's still great, he's been in some wars and has clearly lost a step or two since his Super Six days. With his hands full at light heavy, a move to Cruiser (200lbs) and above (heavyweight) would be foolish.
To me at least.

You don't think he could beat Usyk? If Chad Dawson beat Adamek years back i don't see why Ward can't beat Usyk

Ward is preparing to co-manage and be a boxing analyst. I think he is gonna cash out with this last fight. I don't think he cares about unifying titles at 175. He is a hall of famee and about to make more money in the Kovalev fights than damn near in his whole career.

There are no other big fights out there other than a Kovalev rematch.

He hasn't. The middleweight division is pretty bad right now. It's not like the 168 weight division that Ward had to walk through. The only fight is Canelo. He can't move up to 168.

GGG is a unnaturally hard hitting middleweight with good boxing skills and poor defense. If you can move and have power with a good chin you could beat him. Canelo has power and possibly a good chin. Don't know about his movement when he doesn't have to cut weight.

Exactly. Example: the movement of a Chris Algerie or a Tim Bradley type fighter with power would be enough for a game fighter to end GGG. He cant fight backing up or defend or throw at angles. Jacobs head hunted instead of setting up shots. Regardless, the 4th round cost him everything.

Honestly at this stage in Ward's career I just don't see the purpose for the fight.

Anyhow, Dawson and Adamek were both light heavyweights when they fought.

I wasn't talking money fights. I was listing reasons as to why I think it's doubtful that Ward moves up a division.

Peace,

I don't think judges awarding a two to three point win for a fighter with a two point round shows bias.

Which tells me that you essentially saw the rest of the fight as even. Most of us didn't. I'm still trying to determine why we're "biased" and you're not.

Ward/Stevenson is still a big fight just on the strength of it being a unification bout, but I agree. Kovalev rematch is the biggest fight for Ward.

I'm not saying the people who thought Jacob's won are biased, I'm saying the people that saw a robbery are. When you're talking about a robbery, to me that means that an overwhelming number of people saw the fight differently than the judges, I'm talking about 70%. There's no way 70% of the people watching that fight thought Jacob's was a clear winner.

I agree bro, but Stephenson doesn't deserve a unification bout off the strength of fighting no one. He needs to fight beterbiev. Winner fights each other. No gonna happen but fuck! Even the loser would have a great fight opportunity

Stevenson shouldn't even be acknowledged anymore, dude been on bum street for 3 years now, shameful shit. Can't make any more excuses for that dude

What WBC belt is that (far right)? Was Golovkin awarded some made up (emeritus, diamond version etc...) title for this fight?

Edit. I see it's "BoxVal" Whatever that is...

It's another stupid ass belt that the WBC made up to get a sanctioning fee out of a fighter:

WBC to recognize good works of GGG, Jacobs, Chocolatito, Srisaket
By Togorashi

In addition to the regular world title belts on the line, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, Daniel Jacobs, Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez and Srisaket Rungvisai will be presented with WBC “BoxVal” world champion belts. The BoxVal program was formed by an agreement between the Pontifix foundation “Scholas Ocurrentes” and the World Boxing Council during the memorable meeting of WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman and Pope Francis at the Vatican in February 2016.

The goal of BoxVal is to use boxing as a way to reach as many children as possible around the world to help in their path to become better human beings by using sports, art, technology and education. The first BoxVal event was the Canelo vs Khan fight.

GGG is a role model to the youth of the world, Jacobs defeated cancer and is an inspiration to all, Chocolatito is a family man who dedicates his life to praise the works of God and Srisaket has an impecable life dedicating helping kids.

The BoxVal belts were manufactured by Adrian Pallarols in Argentina which is the home of Scholas Ocurrentes, the nonreligious Pontiff Foundation. Roman Rodriguez, senior member of the Scholas Ocurrentes Board of advisors will be present to award the belt during a special ceremony.

Rumor has it that they are making up a belt for the Canelo/Chavez Jr. fight.

Canelo has poor foot speed but good upper body movement.

Another meaningless title to add to the already overfilled cupboard of alphabet titles. Hopefully guys stop defending these trash belts (IBO etc... )

WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and the Ring Title/Lineal titles are more than enough.

If there is an effort for all of the sanctioning bodies to have a unification tournament so that ONE person can have all those belts I would have no problem with it.

i didn't understand why jacobs wasn't tearing that body up , especially when ggg was lockind up with him. danny should of been tearing them ribs up. that shit would of slow ggg down in the latter rounds.
