The power of intermittent fasting

I did what's called the fast five diet. Meaning that I only eat between 5-10pm. The rest of the day I do not consume any calories. I drink either water or diet drinks. Coffee really helps to suppress hunger and so does acv. When I do eat, I have a meal at 5 and then another at 9. I eat whatever I want but I try to keep my calories below 2000.

I'm down 21 since new years. Went vegetarian AND started intermittent fasting until my 10am thru 6pm eating window. Try and make good food choices and hit the gym keeping my HR at 135/150 for 35 minutes and or hit some water aerobics. I've had a few meals with fish and Maryland crab but so be it. IF works! It'll teach you to savor and enjoy your food more.

I be killing those almonds at my desk.

Chick at work swears by this. She a old CAC but still look pretty good. She got our project manager on it and I watched dude shed about 25 pounds in no time. Got me tempted to give it a try.

Get on it and get healthy. Check the YouTube channel I posted for brix fitness ... I don't mind his pink toe, his choice.

Explain to me how you did it?
I'm on the 16:8 split. My first meal is around 2pm.

I limit carbs, high protein from food mostly, not from powders and shakes, fasted cardio 4 times a week then 15 minutes in the sauna after cardio, lift weights 6 days a week. Oh and I drink a lot of water. If I feel myself getting hungry I'll drink water. I'm up to about 3/4 gallon a day, sometimes more.

I do supplement, but it's the basics. Pre, intra and post workout. I take a fat burner from time to time. My favorite is SKALD. It's on Amazon. You can get a 60 - 90 day supply, 1 pill a day, for like $30. But you gotta watch it when you buy it because they try to get you on Amazon Prime.

I have a goal weight in mind and a picture in my head how I want to look, so I'm going a little harder than normal.

Someone on BGOL showed me about IF in 2012 or 13.

Been doing it ever since.

The guy in the video forgot to mention that it helps build a lot more muscle while strength training because of the GH.

I fast everyday anywhere from 16 to 20 hours, EVERYDAY.

I had a similar situation. During my girls first pregnancy, I went from like 175 to 200. I was never into fitness at all. I stayed in the 200 range for a while. About 4 years ago I was at 210. I moved to Tampa alone. Got bored and depressed. Started running. Went to the Dr and found out I was pre diabetic. Changed my eating habits, lost 40 lbs. Got down to 170. At this point I was just still running every day. Finally got into weights and now I'm 185 with less fat. Diabetes is gone and I still continue to eat healthy. Now I look like I've been working out for years. Even got offered to pose for some pics.

Fasting with a low carb diet =big time fat loss....add some weight lifting:itsawrap:
Y'all are always putting us up on game. I swear bgol is the best spot online, for everything.

I work in a cubicle jungle, so I recently bought 3 pair of weights (9, 10, & 12) off Craigslist for $20 and I use the 10 pounders at work. I'll do the exercise below for 10-40 seconds depending, and then flip my wrist to do the same thing. I do this randomly 8 to 10 or more times a day

Sometimes I'll do it one arm at a time, sometimes I'll do both at the same time, or bring the weights forward and hold them out in front of me. today I overheard one of my coworkers talking about me filling out my shirts so which working and the ladies are noticing.

I hit the weight bench at home and do 7 reps of 10 with 115 lb. also but I really feel the effects of the at work weight work in my obliques

Got a coworker who's been doing it in recent months. Says he's feeling better. Mid-30s and eats pretty well (he's about 6'3", 230lbs) ... but said he was falling on to bad habits at times with fast food, or quick and easy processed stuff. Or just letting himself go on the weekend and partying and drinking like he was still in his college days. He works out a few times a week, and plays in an over-30 basketball league on the weekend. He's been doing that for years, and hooped quite a bit during his HS and college years. Said his wake-up call was seeing some of his dad's health issues of late (early-70s) and having too high a resting BP when he himself had checked that (resting vs. active). Got his full blood panel taken and did the 24-hour BP monitoring wherein you record your food consumption & activities during daytime hours, and it does the additional routine BP checks overnight on you in rest state. He's been cooking more meals at home ... often prepping more (rice, chicken, veggies, etc) and just trying to clean things up. Believe his consumption hours are 11am - 7pm. Telling him to keep me posted on how he's doing and what his future bloodwork & BP results tend to be over time.

G' - good stuff. You ever tried out resistance bands into your workout routine, or as an alternative too? They are great to have around the house ... or to bring with you to work, the gym, or to pack easily in your carry-on bag or suitcase on holiday. You can mess around with them and target muscle groups that aren't as regularly activated with free weights or gym equipment. Really recommend them, and personally need to get back into using them more like back in the day.

Funny you post this. I got the band, but I need those bands around her ankles. I want to use the band for benching. Any suggestions on good ones to get?

Good post. I have done it in the past. Was always concerned it ended up slowing my metabolism, but I do believe in it. Fasting is very important and glad I saw this post. A reminder that I need to go back to it.

Quick question - How do you coffee drinkers handle that doing intermittent fasting. I know you are not to consume anything outside of the 8 hour period, but I have read that consuming less than 50 calories doesn't break your fast. Thoughts????

Anything other than water breaks your fast

Even sugarless gum
