Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

After the training scene with Arya and Brienne, I had to re-watch the scene with Arya running into the Ed Sheeran and the Lannister troops. The first time I watched that scene I was screaming at the screen so much that I missed a lot of subtle visual cues about Arya's growth as a fighter. The first time around, I was screaming at her for sitting with them and drinking their wine. I was like, "get the fuck out there Arya! They're Lannisters, they are going to try to rape you or something."

But re-watching that scene, you can see that Arya is in attack mode the entire time. She sit and grips her sword so it's in easy access/ready to kill mode. She notes that their weapons are far out of arms reach, then she strategically sits at an angle where they would have to get pass her first to get to their swords. And her eyes never stop moving throughout the scene. Her eyes were like that scene in Robocop where he scans the whole building and maps out the location of all the enemies and the best way to take them all out. She probably had 10 scenarios mapped out in her head to kill all of them, if they tried some shit.

Her fighter/warrior's skills have definitely moved up a couple of levels.

in the cave Jon must have told Dany to unleash the dragons. Because she asks to kneel then before he answers they are walking out. And GOT never does the cutaway thing they show you what happened. Anybody got any theories? Because outside Jon advised against the use of the dragons.
Here's my theory...
Dany tends to listen to all the people around her who give her 'good advice' BEFORE she takes her own action.

Jon did not advise Dany to unleash her Dragons, and I don't think he has bent the knee for her (yet :dunno:). Jon told Dany that if she unleashed her Dragons upon the streets of Kings Landing, she would be acting just like her ancestors.

However, Lady Olenna ALSO told Dany to stop being weak/passive about matters of Warfare.

So in episode 4.... Dany COMBINED the 'pragmatic approach' of Jon Snow (who advised her not to unleash her Weapon of Mass Destruction on the 'general public' & innocent citizens)... with the 'sage widsom' of Lady Olenna (i.e. "Be a Dragon!! :hmm: Run loose all over this shit!!")

The result was...

Instead of causing chaos & mayhem right in the middle of the Red Keep... Dany went BALLISTIC on a highly 'tactical target'.... and dropped a DEVASTATING Military Strike.... way out in the countryside ... on the Lannister 'Supply Line' that was delivering FOOD for their Army & their Citizens... which they took from HighGarden.

With one 'decisive strike'.... Dany did EXACTLY what both Jon Snow + Lady Olenna had told her to do.

She unleashed her Dragon... but only against the Lannister Army... in a location where it would not affect ANY innocent civilians. And it was Brilliant.

This will put Cersei in a World of Hurt.
Because Cersei has ALWAYS been terrified of the 'general public' of Kings Landing.

And once the peasants start running out of food.... they mighty destroy the city from the inside.... or try to overthrow Cersei & surrender the city to Dany (peacefully)... instead of face starvation.

Looking back... Pretty sure these 2 scenes were meant to Foreshadow Cersei's fate with the 'common folk' of Kings Landing.

She managed to escape the High Sparrow & his minions... however...

Pay close attention to the very last words of the High Sparrow in both of these clips.

Exactly what i was thinking that whole time, that theyd drug her and do the deed then report back to either Jaime or Cersei afterward

she fuck up thegold that ceresi needed to pay off their debt to the bank. which would be no more money.

she fuck up thegold that ceresi needed to pay off their debt to the bank. which would be no more money.
No she did not. :smh:

The gold was delivered safely to Kings Landing FIRST. Sam's father (Randyll Tarly) told Jamie that the gold had ALREADY reached INSIDE the gates of Kings Landing, just before Dany attacked. It was only Food at end of the Supply Line.

Next Randyll says: "We should beat the brakes off these stragglers, to make them hurry up" :hmm: and Jamie replies: "Let's at least give them a warning first" (before you start beating them).

Then Jamie & Bronn start talking to his son Dickon about the battle at HighGarden. And Dickon admits that it was his first time in battle.

Then Bronn suddenly realizes they are under attack... because he hears / feels the footsteps of the approaching STAMPEDE of Dothraki Warriors.

Watch it again. It will all makes sense.

Cersei has her Gold.

She will repay the guy from the Iron Bank. No problem.

But HighGarden is where all the Crops & Farms were. (Hence the name: High Garden )
They provided the vast majority of the food to Kings Landing when Tywin was alive. And for centuries before.

So now the Lannisters don't have enough FOOD to last for very long. :smh: (They were already struggling to feed the citizens of King Landing all last season, while Margery was imprisoned... and when Cersei blew up the Sept ... Lady Olenna cut them off completely  There was no way she was gonna keep sending them food after Cersei killed her whole family. :smh:)

And Braavos is way too far away to ship any food to Kings Landing... because it would probably SPOIL / ROT on the way over, during the long ass trip across the Sea.

Just finished.... and GAWD DAMN...

I don't know if it was not better then the Battle of the Bastards , The Watchers on the Wall, The Door, Blackwater, or the masterful... Hardhome. It is up there... I'd put it right up there in my top 6.

But there's no way that it is in the Top 3.

The sound of that stampede alone is in the top 5 for me,,,,WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

All I'm sayin for now lol

The gold was delivered to King's Landing as promised, but I think we're all skipping over the what will probably be MUCH more important in the long run.
Dany burnt all the food and went Field of Fire part 2 on the crop fields. And in the scene with Arya and Brienne starts out with Sansa and Littlefinger walking and talking about the food reserves in the North. She was saying something like there wasn't was much food coming in as she would have hoped for.

Winter is here, the Knight King is on the move, and food as scarce. Paying back the Iron Bank is great in all, but a Scrooge McDuck swimming pool full of gold and money don't mean shit when your stomach is growling and there ain't no sources on food left on the whole continent.

Totally agree.

Dont forget, back in season 2, when the Warlock of Qath stole Dany's dragons... she had a vision of the Iron Throne room... that was destroyed & covered in SNOW.

Winter is here. Literally.

So if we see ANY snowflakes hit Kings Landing anytime soon... shit will get DRASTIC. Real Quick.

Because that's when Old Nan's stories will become REAL. Not just some bedtime fairy tales. :D

The folks in the North will manage to survive. Somehow. :dunno: They're used to that shit.

But the folks in the South (Especially at Kings Landing) will probably start their own chapter of "Thenn Wildlings"... in a heartbeat.

Wait for it.

I was just replaying that warlock scene for a chick last night. Dany appeared to be at the wall.

you are correct sir.

Am I the only one be singing to myself "Hands of gold are always cold, but a woman's hands are warm" ?

Darthracky steam rolled a Lannester army. If they were not on the same side they prolly would fuck the unsullied up!

:dunno:

In a fight between the Dothraki vs the Unsullied... I can't call it. :dunno:

I dunno WHO would win, because it really all depends on 'where' they would be fighting.

The Unsullied are at their BEST in a 'wide-open battlefield'... but so far, we have only seen them fight in smaller spaces, like hallways & courtyards. That Roman-style Arena in Mereen was the biggest area they fought in... but they were too spread out, some up in the bleachers & some on the ground.... plus there weren't that many of them fighting the Sons of the Harpy. :dunno:

We see how the Dothraki fight... very similar to the Wildlings. They get REAL SAVAGE on horseback ... But they are still kinda undisciplined, just like the Wildlings.

However, we have yet to see what the Unsullied can REALLY DO in a wide-open area... like the Battle of the Bastards, or The Spoils of War. :dunno:

Pretty sure they might have a few different 'battle formations'... like Ramsay's Army had.
Which might make all the difference... against the aggressiveness of the Dothraki.

Look again fam. I do not think that he got saved. This will go over the heads of some...but there was a reason why there was no music over the end credits.. Ya boy is gone. He sank.
Can you swim with armor on? I didn't pick up on this until I watched it again.

ETA: This will probably open up the door for the Cersi and Euron union to materialize....and for Tyrion (aka Arya) to be the one to murder Cersi.

The silent closing credits (that is typically synonymous with death) as Jamie descends but I think the show is doing another dramatic cliffhanger mind fuck. Jaime was tackled just before the flames struck. I'm leaning towards the force of the tackle that cause him to sink but momentarily.

Peace,

I think the weight of Jaime'a armor causes him to sink.

Definitely that hand. Wont be surprised if he loses it during the rescue.

^^^ Agreed.

And it's crazy ironic how BOTH Lannister Brothers ended up in the very same (desperate) situation.

i.e. Fighting for their lives... underwater... and needing 'someone else' to save their life.

Jamie getting dragged underwater by his armor. (in season 7)

Tyrion getting dragged underwater by the Stonemen. (in season 5)

Apparently, this kinda stuff.... 'runs in the family'. :D

There are already a few comments on twitter. But yeah, I changed my views thanks to some counter arguments.....but we shall see in the weeks to come.

I agreed with that point initially but after looking over the armor again, it didn't appear to be bulky enough to prevent him from swimming

The showrunners could do it either way but GoT is too known for dramatic mind fuck endings lol

yo arya is not to be fucked with. when homegirl asked her where she learned that, arya said" nowhere" and kept it moving. she could of killed the 2 guards at thegate if she wanted to.

The actual exchange was:
"Who taught you how to do that?'
"No one"

As those from the House of Black and White in Bravos are are "many" but "no one"

But on another note....
Was the arrow that hit Drogon poisioned too? I would expect Cersi and Qyburn to take extra precautionary measures in that instance.

:eek2::eek::eek:
Ohhhhhhh shit, IF that plays out, maaaaan, that's a game changer and would most likely birth an ice dragon

Her fighter/warrior's skills have definitely moved up a couple of levels.

Arya has improved exponentially. During the sparring session with Brienne, Arya displayed kill strike positions within the 1st couple moves. That's expert assassin level strategy of a quick kill to allow maximum time to disappear back in the shadows (i.e. a crowd, woods, etc.) If she headed back to Kings Landing instead of Winterfell, neither Cercei nor the Mountain would see the assassin strikes coming.

I dunno man. :dunno:

Jamie's armor kinda looks way too bulky to swim in. :smh:

Think about it... he's traveling back to Kings Landing right after a battle at HighGarden.

So he's wearing a big-ass chestplate, neckplate, pauldrons (i.e shoulder plates), elbow plates + plus a 3/4 length (armored) Tunic that covers his thighs... along with a SOLID GOLD hand ..... and knowing Jamie.... he might even be wearing some 'light chainmail' underneath ALL that stuff for some EXTRA protection. :dunno: (like the same kind Roose Bolton wore at the Red Wedding )
