Man it seems like the more LeBron wins the higher and higher they set the bar for him to pass Kobe and Jordan...
No way in anyones brain can you say Kobe is better than LeBron, sure he had more team success than LeBron but no way is a one time MVP and two time finals MVP anywhere close to what LeBron did, especially with LeBron being better in every stat, and destroying him in head to head match ups while playing in the same era..
But then again if you want to stay on TV the word out is that you do it by bashing LeBron for the white man...
Stats. Stats. Stats.
Kobe is the only player in History with over 30k points, 6k assists and 6k rebounds. He also has nine All-NBA defensive first team awards.
Is Kobe in ANYBODY'S top five? He ain't even in mine. Why not? He got the STATS .... right? A combo of three statistical categories accumulated at a level NO ONE ELSE IN HISTORY accumulated, and no one got him in their top five.
He and Shaq got one MVP a piece, and Steve Nash got two. Is Nash greater than Kobe and Shaq because he got two MVPs to their one? I mean, he does have MORE? Having MORE is all that matters, or does CONTEXT matter a LIL' BIT?
If unprecendented all-around stats don't make Kobe top five, then why does Lebron having superior all-around stats make him better than Kobe? 'Cause you said so?
Style of play is style of play.
I'll give Lebron the nod over Kobe all-time, but everyone doesn't get caught up in the fact that you took upon yourself to do everything. Thats great, but it don't make you better. Kobe proved numerous times through his career that, if asked to, he can do everything, too. Jordan had the RECORD for most triple-doubles in a row. Neveraged averaged a double-double, tho'. He proved he could to it, but it just wasn't the way he preferred to approach the game.
Basketball is about greatness, but also winning.
Lebron has had numerous bites at the championship apple, and minus a few very lucky breaks, he'd be 2 out of 7, and some could really argue 1 out of 7. Bogut's interior d was a huge factor in the last Finals. He went down the series changed. I REMEMBER all the shit people were talking about Lebron's legacy. But, Bogut goes down, now Lebron and Cleveland can suddenly eat like they want, and all is forgiven.
I remember all the shit people talked about Lebron in that series the Spurs almost won. They had even roped off the damn court. Ray miss that three, and its completely over for them.
I'm sorry, but Lebron is a very inconsistent shooter. He is a rim attacker who has played in the WEAKEST era of interior defensive in NBA history.
Long story short, that nigga ain't better than no damn Michael Jordan!
The ONLY reason I take Lebron over Kobe is because Kobe's shot selection makes me uneasy. Even still, it didn't prevent him from becoming a legend ... so I should be over that. But, if Kobe had better shot selection, I'M EASILY taking him over Lebron, because Kobe could literally score from ANYWHERE on the court.
