LaunchBox - Review and Setup Guide!

Anybody familiar with these? These are flash carts, known as "Ever Drives" these things allow you to put all of your roms (from all regions) on an SD card, put the SD card in the "Ever Drive" you have a full set of roms being played on the original hardware.

I thought about going this route but this is rather expensive, some going for nearly $200 and I would say that this probably intended for collectors to preserve their collections and people who take their retro gaming extra serious.

Looks interesting, this basketball stuff got me caught up. I will check it out later.

Launchbox is the shit! I have full romsets of MAME, damn near all the classic consoles, etc. I do all my retro gaming on my Oculus Rift these days though

This is from my headset, hence the dual screens

in the next couple of weeks im gonna put launchbox on an old pc and put it in my job's breakroom. i been talking about doing something like that for a while and i think its time i finnaly got around to it. i just know when i do it im gonna get alot of people asking me to do something similar for them lol.

if your computer has hdmi on it then yes. i been using my computer on my tv since 2003 with my ati radeon 9800 pro thru s-video lol. alot of tvs nowadays also have vga so it shouldnt be a problem. if you dont wanna use a desktop then use a laptop.

Over 9 hours of tinkering with this shit.

Finally got the Super Game Boy (using Super Game Boy 2 because it's better) to work

Ok, fam I wanna put this out here for anybody using Retroarch or Lakka..

When using a game's built in save feature (not save states) make sure you "close content" when you're done playing or your saves will not register in your system...

I had to replay a few levels of Super Mario 64 after not doing this correctly. (thankfully that game has great replay value, so it's not an issue but if you're playing a game with poor replay value it can be a morale killer)

Very true I experienced this when playing a God of War.

ok. that gives me a little hope of me running zelda then lol. i gotta fx-8350, 16gb of ram, but a measly nvidia geforce gtx 750 ti 2gb gddr5 gpu. i think i can do it. i might test it out next weekend. i still need to test out the ps2 emulator and see how well it runs for me.

The ps2 emulator runs great on my setup. In fact everything runs perfect except BOTW, which runs nearly perfect now on version 1.81 of cemu.

good to know. i think i'll be ok running the ps2 emulator. i might wait on zelda until i upgrade my video card or whole computer. i havent decided which way i wanna go. that upgrade bug been biting me in the ass for a couple months now lol.

(ETA) use this with an NES emulator.
