Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Nah can't respect that nigga.. he been stat padding damn near the entire season and he even admitted he did.. only Triple doubles I respect from him are the ones he got organically within the flow of the game where he wasn't chasing a couple rebounds or assists

Averaging a triple-double, to me, is like scoring 70+ points ...

...you don't do that shit unless you're forcing the issue. Sure, it looks great on paper, and people talk about it, but you exerted all that energy just to pad stats.

What ALSO bugged me out was this:

I used to always cringe at Kobe's box scores over turnovers. Yes, I know Kobe was ball dominant, but he also took A LOT of unnecessary risks on the courts. He seemed to always rack up a lot of TOs.

Well, I checked the stats recently when an article mentioned Harden and Westbrooks high T/Os. Look at the career highs in TO's. This shit blew me away.

Kobe career high total T/O: 288
Russell Westbrook career high T/O: 432, with a few games left.
James Harden career high T/O: 445, with games left.
Lebron James career high T/O: 284
Michael Jordan career high T/O: 291
Magic Johnson career high T/O: 314
Allen Iverson career high T/O: 344

All players with the ball in their hands ALL THE TIME, and you see the disparity in turnovers. So, yeah ... there was nothing organic about what these niggas did this year.

Nah.
Kobe was never a facilitator. He was never in charge of running the offense to get everyone else a shot.
He was never the point guard.
Those two, are literally depending on for every basket they're in the game. If they're in the game the entire offense does nothing unless they create it
which is why their numbers are historic.

What???

Literally the first time I ever HEARD the word 'facilitator' was during the Lakers three-peat run. Nobody else on the team could penetrate. It was Shaq, who needed to to bed feed, Kobe who handled the ball ALL THE TIME, and facilitated, and spot up shooters.

Whether you felt he did it well was one thing, but Kobe has never been on a team where he could give the ball to someone else and let them run the offense. Not after Van Exel was traded.

What about Odom?

Welp... at least this years team is noteworthy for something! Will be in the record books forever!! :roflmao:

The joy of being a Nuggets fan. I told y'all he was going to break the record didn't I? That shit wasn't a joke. The 4th qtr collapse and game winner was par for the fucking course. I'm hype for the future but going from 10 straight playoff appearances to now 3 or 4 seasons with no playoffs is annoying as fuck.:smh:

He was never on a team under phil where the ball stuck in anyone's hands. it was the triangle offense.
if it was as you say then his assists would have been higher...
and they COULDN'T BE
because of the offensive design of the system.
not a slight on kobe.

What about Odom?

Odom COULD handle the ball, but he was not a ball handler for the Lakers. As a matter of fact, I used to joke with my cousin about how Kobe would let Fisher bring the ball across the court, only to pass the ball to Kobe the second he crossed half court.

I have no delusions about what Kobe was or wasn't, but I know for a fact that ball was glued to Kobe's hands. Even when Payton was there, Kobe was ball-dominant. Less-so, but STILL ball-dominant.

ball dominant and facilitator are 2 different things.

Like I said a few months ago.....y'all should've been bottom of the barrel sorry this year. Y'all just needed one more year to be sorry. But Jokic is far better then I expected him o be at this stage of his career.

I agree but since they actually decided to win some games this year I jumped on the playoff train but NOW though it's stupid. Not bad enough to get a top 5 pick but not good enough to make the playoffs. That's the worst place to be imo. You right.

I hear you man......as a Man fan that's where we been at since the Championship run......at least y'all got Jokic and a few other youthful pieces. I think with Denver though........gonna be tough to attract free agents and your best bet is to draft guys.

You can build around Jokic though.

I think yall got a future. I look forward to seeing some growth out of Murray and Jokic.

We can't even get nobody in a trade let alone free agency:lol:. I'm surprised folks even notice Jokic because nobody talks/thinks about Denver. Paul George said Fuck No! "Homegrown" is the only way but hey, it worked for OKC because they were in the same situation but drafted very well. Our GM is trash though.

Dallas stayed winning games for no reason after all star break. This would've been a perfect year to not win shit.........unless you're the Celtics. They got the best of both worlds right now.

Mavs so dumb. I'm not for throwing games every year like Philly does but they should've done it this year. Them dudes actually tried to win when Dirk came back.

lost in the triple double shuffle
russ has the record for this year.
he is incredible.
don't wash out oscar or try to play him. i saw someone say russ is now the king of the triple double like after having this historic season and breaking the record of 42 in 1 year he isn't still down 103 triple doubles to oscar.

BOTH ARE GREAT

don't diminish one to prop up the other. both stand on the podium

Yup...

Funny how dudes want to shit on Russell for his turnovers and shit but don't say much about Harden being a turnover machine... Has more for the season than Russell I believe and had 10 today in a game against SAC that was closer than it should have been... IMO Russell should win the MVP and it wouldn't be controversial if he did...

MHC y'all sorry af

Really was battling and trying hard to make the playoffs and now all you will get is the last pick in the lottery

Complete fuckery

:roflmao3:

It was fun while it lasted.

Russ has always killed us. I just knew he was going to break the record today and the game winner I saw coming after that timeout. Did not expect him to make a damn 30 footer like that though.

We are the only motherfuckers to perfect that shit Bruh... There is a science to that shit. We fucked around and went on a lil run in January, management pulled Brett Brown into the office for a lil talking to and he got his shit together and we started taking those quality L's again!

Your team should be right there in a couple of years; hopefully they draft well with this next pick; but Denver got fucked on that trade though

Seriously b you let the Hawks drop 44 in a quarter on you and you supposed to be the most talented team in the fuckin league? Get these niggas out of here
I hate these Cleveland niggas. I really do.
