Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Shit I thought Bron want Mark Jackson and they told him naw
Not at all. Brons inner circle ultimately decided against it because of optics and possible conflicts. Bron is a master business man and cares greatly about his image. He was already getting heat for "firing" Blatt.. If he then brought in his friend and client (Mark is signed to Brons agency) it would have furthered the scuttlebutt about Bron backstabbing Blatt and getting him shit canned. Bron decided to go with Lue.

Well ain't Lue was in place even before Bron committed to the Cavs. If I recall Griffin wanted Lue, Gilbert wanted to try something different but they agreed to have Lue on Blatt staff and told Blatt Lue would be top assistant.
I'm sure Lebron was briefed on the situation but it often seems like he gets credit for some shit that he probably shouldn't.
Those comments are just from what I read which really don't always tell the inner details.
I'm not doubting your reply just stating what I remember, time wise.
Shit I guess that is doubting you, but really wasn't trying to...

Schedule makers arent tasked with managing minutes.. Thats a team issue bro. They all know the schedule and have been playing it for decades now... Sure they can do a better job with scheduling but guess what? Shoulda bargained that shit when they were begging for more money if they had a problem with it.. The check cleared now and they cashed out.. Play ball. Teams are now at a point where they HAVE to address this shit because its reached levels of blatant abuse and disregard for people cutting checks and viewers (and talking heads) are bitching.

I been saying the last few years it would come to a head but some of you niggas were talking that "they aint slaves" and "they dont owe the fans nothing" bullshit. The shit is a business. And they are selling a product thats predicated on eyes watching and sponsors selling another product to those eyes. It was patently STUPID for coaches to rest guys on weekend televised games. Kill the golden goose if you want...

I've been anti sit unless dudes are old. or have wear and tear at certain points.

Sitting on the 2nd night of a back to back is common practice so stop scheduling the marquee on the 2nd night imo.

I actually think back to backs need to be in the same time zone in order to make sense.

I dont have a problem with LBJ sitting; dude is longing some major mins when he plays and hes in his 30s; I have problem with Love and Kyrie sitting though; both of those fools are in their 20s; no reason for that shit; and they were just off a day ago and played at home; thats the major issue I have with the situation; they couldnt have been tired....

LBJ is 32. Why yall act like he 40? Jordan at 33 was playing 40 minutes a night and never asked for a day off or a sub. He had a love for the game thats missing from these dudes. If LeBron made it a point to play every minute he could Love and Kyrie would follow. As team leader it falls on him.

Man bills, West is a great addition to GS; I didnt know this dude could pass like this; I actually like their bench better this year than last; Kerr is actually starting to play Ian and Mcgee more; its about fucking time; Barnes is starting to play better as well; solid depth at every position...

Yes. And once Bron came he became HNIC... He "allowed" Lue to get that head coach gig bro.
lol. Lopez almost connected
That cats arms look like Inspector Gadget...

Steve Kerr, Rick Carlisle, Gregg Popovich agree rest unrest fixable
DALLAS - Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he'd be willing to cut his own salary if the NBA shortened the schedule as a potential solution to the issue of stars resting during regular-season games as preventative maintenance.

"I wouldn't be opposed to it, even at the expense to my own salary, but it's something that everyone would have to agree to," Kerr said before Tuesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. "I think even just going down to 75 games, I think that would make a dramatic difference in schedule. Now I don't see that happening because there is money at stake for everybody.

"I do think this can be remedied though -- maybe not remedied -- but I think it can be dramatically helped with what the league is already working on for next year and the consideration of geographics when it comes to the schedule."

The subject is a hot-button issue in part because the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers sat their best players in the last two ABC Saturday night games. Those games are showcase events in the nine-year, $24 billion national television deal the NBA signed with ESPN, ABC and Turner Sports.

LeBron weighs in on NBA's rest conundrum
Cavs star LeBron James addressed the NBA's growing concern over teams resting healthy players and the threat of "significant penalties" if the practice continues.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver called the practice of resting stars "an extremely significant issue for our league" in a memo sent to team owners and obtained by ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Silver's memo stated that the issue would be a prime topic of discussion during the league's board of governors meeting April 6 in New York and implored owners to be involved in the decision-making process on this issue due to the impact it can have on the NBA's "fans and business partners," the reputation of the league and "perception of our game."

"I thought [the memo] was smart," said Kerr, whose team wrapped up a grueling stretch of schedule with a back-to-back in Minnesota and San Antonio when the Warriors' stars rested against the Spurs. "I think this is something that every organization needs to partner together with the league and our broadcasting partners and figure out what's best for everybody. We all have the same interests at heart, which is we need to do what's best for the league. But there are great arguments on every side.

"I do feel bad for the fans. I also know resting those guys last week was something that was beneficial and I think it's shown to be so this past week. You can see our guys are fresher, their legs. So what can we all do, together? And I think that's where Adam is really good in terms of taking a lot of opinions and finding solutions. This is not a right or wrong issue. It's what can we do to best serve the league, best serve the player's health. Is there a compromise?

"We're already working on that by extending the season next year by 7-10 days. I think that's going to be very helpful and I think the broadcast partners and the league can pay closer attention to the schedule when it comes out next year as they put that together. These are all things that we all have to work on."

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who is credited with popularizing use of strategic rest, is happy that both sides want to find a way to remedy the situation.

"Luckily all the participants are sane people and care about the same thing and want to get it right," Popovich said Tuesday night.

"It's not about anybody having power or wanting to issue orders. It's about trying to get it right. That's the great thing about the league and what we're doing. It's all good."

Naw, I would say PG might be it. Dunn might not be the answer. BTW has there been a team with as many lottery PG bust?

Towns doesn't really play defense

and Wiggins, I've never seen a player do so little in other categories with his skills and athleticism. He can play defense. He's learning to shoot...but 2 assist and 4 rebounds? That's why I always said the Lebron comparisons were waaaaaay off. He wasn't close to Lebron who was and is a play maker.

I thought Dunn would be in contention for ROY and eventually be a very good player pretty fast. Im surprised at how quiet a rookie campaign he has had.
