Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Melo played for the money. I think all players play for the money, but the money is not the overwhelming priority for some players.

Money is the overwhelming priority for Melo.

I will say this, tho: Melo hasn't grossed less than 22m since 2013-14. He stands to make make 24m, 26m, and 27m for the next three seasons, including this one.

Melo is not winning in the NBA, but that man damn sure ain't losing.
True and overwhelming majority of players ain't losing...

:giggle:they maybe true and i don't want anyone else touching the ball in okc; that being said if it was that easy and or diminished, more players would do it or would have done it; anyone who knows basketball knows what russ is doing is simply amazing...

All players can put up better numbers if given the opportunity. All great players can put up greater numbers if properly motivated. I've seen it a lot.

Players are preferred styles of play, and may not do as much as they can do, because they team don't need it, or they ain't interested.

Michael Jordan once had 10 triple doubles in eleven games. OBVIOUSLY, anybody who can rack up triple doubles that regularly can do it all the time. Jordan never averaged a double-double.

You think it was because he couldn't?

Hardly.

Name the players in the league right now that can do it consistently..u want be able to name more than 5, if that; there are like 450 players in the nba though:hmm:like ive stated before there are players that can get triple-doubles; there aren't that many who can do it consistently; and there are even fewer who can average it....ps MJ could do whatever he wanted

One more thing..the players themselves think what russ is doing is amazing..from the older players to the current players; they have stated as such; players who have actually played the game;how a fan or fans, who have never been in the nba, can downplay it is beyond ridiculous to me:hmm::smh:.........

Funny how Dude typed all swole about any great player being able to do what Russ is doing, THEN has to reference arguably the greatest player of all time in his argument, and only had a small sample size to compare what Russell is doing for a whole season and then finishes with an opinion/what if... Russell isn't doing a what if he's doing factual shit, but hey... people need to reach to sound intelligent, all the while self Ock'ing themselves with the hollow stupid shit they type...

We have NEVER seen a season long performance like what Westbrook is achieving right now in any era... :hmm:

Andrew Bogut has agreed to a contract buyout with the Philadelphia 76ers, freeing him to evaluate his next move, league sources told The Vertical.Bogut has narrowed his next destination to Cleveland, Houston, San Antonio or Boston, and will have conversations over the next 24 hours with general managers and coaches from those teams, league sources said.

True true

Everybody running to the big 2. Mainly the Cavs. I think the Warriors are set though. Cavs with Bogut should be set too.

Bruh, the output is amazing. Do you know how much energy it takes to be that dialed in EVERY NIGHT.

But are you telling me, for instance, Lebron James, if he put forth the energy, couldn't average a double-double like Harden? He never has, but Russell has and Harden is, and Russ is about to average a triple-double.

I don't believe that for a second. As I said, there have been great players that had substantially increased output, then just took their foot off of the gas.

Three years ago, nobody would've foreseen Russ doing this. Its effort and talent.

Raptors hope to have Kyle Lowry back in time for playoffs

NEW YORK -- Kyle Lowry hoped the pain in his right wrist would go away so he could join the new-look Toronto Raptors on the court.

Now the goal is just to get back with them before the playoffs.

The All-Star guard will have surgery Tuesday to remove loose bodies from his wrist, and the Raptors say they hope he can return for the postseason.

Lowry, who has missed the team's two games since returning from the All-Star break, is expected to be out four to six weeks, a source told ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

New York Knicks.

"It was one of those things where we didn't know it was as serious as it was. That's why you get second opinions as he did and we decided -- he decided to have it done now hopefully to be able to have some time before the playoffs to get some games in," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said.

The procedure will be done in New York.

Lowry has often played hurt, but this time the pain was enough that he said he couldn't move his wrist in a certain position. He and the Raptors believed it would improve -- Casey said Sunday the swelling was down and Lowry was day-to-day -- though the point guard said he wasn't surprised by the diagnosis Monday.

"I'm not surprised by anything. It was a little sore, I didn't know what it was," Lowry said. "It's not really something you can say I'm surprised. I had no idea what it would be. I thought some local treatment may have helped it, but it just wasn't getting any better."

Lowry is second on the team with his average of 22.8 points and leads the Raptors with 6.9 assists per game.

The Raptors were tied for third in the Eastern Conference entering their game against the Knicks, and falling to fourth or fifth would likely mean a second-round series with Cleveland, the team that knocked Toronto out in last year's Eastern Conference finals.

Lowry hopes to be fully recovered by then. In the meantime, he'll keep supporting Cory Joseph and Delon Wright, as Casey said the Raptors, who added forwards Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker before the trade deadline, won't look for outside help.

"I know they got to hold down the fort," Lowry said. "Unfortunately right now I'm leaving my teammates out to dry and I wish I wasn't, but this is the circumstance that we have. So for me, all I can do is help my teammates off the floor."

Of course what he's doing is amazing. My comment wasnt about diminishing what he's doing at all. I was just talking about Lebron's chances of doing it.

Looking at what we may have in Rashaun Holmes, I can see why Colangelo let Nerlens go... Dude is better offensively, just as athletic and a damn good defender... More complete player, all he needed was minutes which he's now getting.

Looking more and more like a smart move by my Sixers

Well, LBJ got his wish. Cavs got a good backup PG; who can drop at the LEAST 15/7 with the right amount of mins.

Wonder who else theyll add....

Giving him away for nothing after trading up to get him and investing 3 years of resources? Yea ok...

Hows Embiid knee coming along? He still a backup dancer for Meek Mill?

Trust the process or whatever..

Blah, Blah Blah, Nigga... this weak ass team just beat the shit out of the Wizards and won the season series so worry about your team nigga... come June you will have won the same number of championships this season that we have so FOH!!

Middle of the pack make the playoffs and lose in the first round merry go round ass niggas. Even with our bullshit people are talking about us... Don't nobody give a fuck about the Wizards you non-descript ass Niggas!!

You trying to troll and making an ass out of yourself!! Get a process Nigga!!

He could not hit shit from outside

Dude my team sucks but I love the way we compete and are better than last year definitely... Word is Embiid isn't hurt, and they are just tanking the last 20+ games to assure a high pick. Sacramento went on a run and scared these fools and they panicked before Cousins was traded...

To hold Curry to 0-11 from 3 is a great effort, and they didn't run us off the court... Fuck that, Moral wins are important after the shit we've had to endure

wow...cats REALLY think dwill and bogut are huge difference makers?????? o_O

they are. cats play different when they don't have to do shit
they play better when they not the man that's what d will has proven. when the lights are on he gonna fold but now it's easy money.
when kyrie the man they don't win when he can be robin he is great same with love same with j.r. smith
they ain't gotta do nothing of note so they'll play well. i fully expect if he stays healthy he'll be a much added boost.

now bogut i don't know.
