Anime Fans, What's the hottest anime out at the moment? - Suggestions Thread

I binge watched this anime and it started out kinda slow due to it setting up the stage for everything, but as time went on it actually ended up being a pretty good anime. It caught me by surprise. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you like psychological, thriller, and post apocalyptic based anime.

Shinsekai yori (From A New World)

Parasyte

This is a pretty good anime also. And that soundtrack...If you liked Tokyo Ghoul then Parasyte will be right up your ally.

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar (Grimgar, Ashes and Illusions)

This anime is basically a more realistic Sword Art Online. I like the direction that it's going. It's starts off slow, but it has potential to be great, that is if they ever make another season and fill in plot holes and unanswered questions.

Drifters

An anime with historical characters that do battle, blood, gore, killing, survival type of anime. I like what I've seen so far.

A good site to watch these and others on is 9anime.to
And the quality is up to 1080p HD

Well Holy shit.. this was unexpected..

By: Zuleika Boekhoudt November 27, 2016

During the Code Geass 10th-anniversary event in Maihama Amphitheater in Chiba, Director Goro Taniguchi announced that the anime would receive a third season. On top of that, there will also be recapping movies with new scenes. The series of recaps will have a January 2017 release date.

What Is Code Geass

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion premiered in 2006 and followed Lelouch Lamperouge. With the help of his Geass, he prepares to destroy the tyranny of the Holy Britannian Empire. The first season of the mecha anime received numerous awards and accolades which prompted a second season, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. The popularity of Code Geass inspired several spin-off manga, OVA’s and most recently the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled movies.

Code Geass Season 3 And Recap Movies

During the event, Taniguchi revealed that the third season would appropriately be titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection. Subsequently, the third season will take place after the events of Zero Requiem, where Suzaku disguised as Zero kills Lelouch.

Thanks in part to the event’s invitation fans have been wondering if indeed there was going to be a third season. The invitations for the event had a secret message “Rebirth of the Demon.” Which are the combination of the first episodes of the two seasons, titled “The Day a New Demon was Born” and “The Day a Demon Awakens.” While we are excited about the new sequel, Taniguchi did not say if this will be a TV series or a movie adaptation.

Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, the producer of the Code Geass franchise, has been working on the recap films since 2012. And now, with the announcement of a possible third season, the recap movies will have an early 2017 release date. So possibly or more precisely hopefully the new season will also have a 2017 release date.

Possible Storyline?
With the anime being an original work there is no way of telling in which direction the anime will go. Howbeit, there has to be a new enemy with the power of Geass for Lelouch to return from the dead. However, fans have to wait until next year for Lelouch Lamperouge.

Tokyo Ghoul Live-Action Film Debuts First Still Image

Fans of Tokyo Ghoul, brace yourself. It looks like the thrilling horror series will be making a comeback next summer thanks to Kentarō Hagiwara. The director is in-charge of the upcoming live-action Tokyo Ghoul flick, and the project has just released its first still image.

Earlier today, the official website for the film posted the first image from Tokyo Ghoul. The picture features Masatake Kubota who is playing Ken Kaneki, the series’ main protagonist. The actor, who is best-known for playing Light Yagami in the Death Note films, looks fairly threatening. The actor’s eyes are shadowed by black bangs, and he is holding Ken’s iconic Ghoul mask in front of his face.

If you’re clamoring over the black leather mask, then you are not the only one. Shortly after the picture was shared, the folks behind Tokyo Ghoul confirmed Japanese designer Masanori Morikawa was behind the costumes. The creator, who has made stage costumes for KISS and Lady Gaga, designed all the masks for the film.

"I myself have been a big fan of the manga series, so I really appreciate for giving me this opportunity. The masks and costumes used in the film were newly designed by me, expanding the images of the manga with the director. I hope the fans of the Tokyo Ghoulmanga will like it," Morikawa said in a statement.

The announcement also included the sketched designs for Ken’s Ghoul mask. The artwork puts the mask’s over-the-top teeth and eye-patch on full display for fans to see.

In the coming months, fans will hopefully see more footage from Tokyo Ghoul. The film finished shooting in September and is currently slated for a release in summer 2017. The horror film stars Msatake Kubota as the lead along with Fumika Shimizu who plays Tōka Kirishima.

Not familiar with Tokyo Ghoul? No worries; You still have plenty of time to catch-up on the show. The series debuted in September 2011 thanks to mangaka Sui Ishida. Weekly Young Jump first published the manga before it was adapted into an anime series by Pierrot. The anime premiered in July 2014 before a second season ran in January 2015. A third season has also been confirmed though no official release date has been attached to the project so far.

Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where creatures known as ghouls exist. The horrifying monsters survive by consuming human flesh and live amongst humans in secret. The story follows a boy named Ken Kaneki after a date-gone-wrong leaves him a half-ghoul. Struggling to adapt to his new life, Ken tries his best to fit into ghoul society, keep his monstrous status hidden from humans, and reign in the insatiable hunger he has for flesh.

Is One Punch Man REALLY worth it?

I mean, how are we rating it on a scale of 1 to 5? 1 being horrible, and 5 being all-time great anime. Don't be afraid to use decimals.

But I think you have to find time for this... it's got one of the best Villians in Anime. dude is amazing.

Just finished Aijin Season 2... it's going on my list. Don't sleep on this one fam... Johnny Boush voices the main character... So you should already know it's legit.

Man that ending... That Gawd Damn Mr. Sato has risen into my top 5 favorite villians of all time. He gives Zero fucks... I mean zero.

This isn't anime but you can't overlook Netflix's Trollhunters... I'm on Episode 13 and I confirm that show is pretty good. It gives me Saturday Morning cartoon vibes and it doesn't hold back on the action.

That second season was actually pretty good but I can see how some would dislike it.

I still haven't watched the fucking movie.

I saw the first episode of the second season and like it..I think it has more to do with me being so busy working on stuff,I dont have time.

10 years ago,I would binge watch series after series that I never finished no matter what I was doing..now I feel like it's a dayum job just to watch one episode.

I should of watched the second season, after I saw the first last year...I really enjoyed the first season.

On top of that,I prefer binge watching my anime now, none of this week to week bullshit.

I'm still trying to decide,if I should wait til Attack on Titan to finish or watch it week to week.

I completely agree on the need to binge anime. That's what I'm doing with the new season of Gundam Iron Orphans.. I'm going to need to see the complete story.

THis Cyborg 009 anime is nice
I don't know it feels kinda dry. Kinda slow story telling lots of action but I'm into episode 3 and still don't know why they're fighting. Just give them the damn box it's not yours and you don't know what it is or does. What the damn story. Losing interest.

anyone sleeping on Ajin is comatose.

that was one of the best anime i have seen in a minute incuding story, animation, action.

It gets really good towards the end and I completely agree about the first two episodes but once they fight the teacher ... shit gets good.

Man I've trying to tell Kat's... that god damn Mr. Sato is my dude. "I love it when a plan comes together."

He is easily one of my all time favorite villains. He gives Zero fucks.
