Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Mudiay turned out to be a helluva bust didnt he? Shouldve taken his ass to college. Playing in China didnt do shit dor him... :smh:

Far from a bust but like most young players (D'Angelo Russell) is wildly inconsistent. With a lot of the offense running through Jokic now, he's having difficulty adjusting.

Add the factor of a new coach who's seeing Barton as a better option at point leaves Mudiay on the outs

He still has some talent

That was all on Dolan. He forced Donnie Walsh to make that trade. Knick never should've had to gut their team to get Melo. He would've came in the offseason. That would've been a killer squad too:smh:

that was melo's fault too...I can't remember the logistics but he wanted max $$$ which he wouldn't have got if he waited til the offseason to sign w/ them...also I remember there being hints/insinuations that he'd look @ other teams if the trade wasn't made to NY and dolan didn't wanna risk that...I stopped fucking w/ the knicks way before that...but that was the last exciting squad they had imo...by no means the best team @ the time but they had some scrappy players and some good games

A lot of players have talent and it doesnt translate to production on the court tho. Theres a difference in Russell and Mudiay...

Nah, look at how long it took billuips to develop..it's only been 1 1/2 years give it some time; some players develop slow
And for every Chauncey Billups you have five bust bro. Plus if you look back at the table Chauncey Billups even then there's absolutely no similarities between him and this guy. Not only are there serious fundamental flaws, but Chauncey was mentally tough from the door. This kid from the neck up is weak sauce.

You are overreacting; the kid is 20 years old; hes only been in the league for 1 1/2 years; give it time; and there are plenty more players who develop just as slow as Chauncey; I dont know if he is a bust or not; but neither do you; and I dont believe one can tell as of right now; Its a total different coach and system from his 1st year; and this year is only half way thru; time bro time........

The Knicks hoped they could sign him next summer in free agency, but felt they couldn’t wait because Anthony wanted the extension this season, before a new collective bargaining agreement next summer could severely restrict salaries, and that could have forced him to lock in long term with whatever team Denver traded him to.

We just see things differently on this one bro. And if you're telling me that there are plenty of players who started out busting like this, and ended up as good as Chauncey I'm going to go ahead and need you to name those players bro?!

Look at how long it took Lowry to develop, what about DJ, look at Leonard, CJ McCollum didnt do shit his 1st 2 years, look at him now; what about I Thomas, what about Whiteside, he was in the fucking D league for years; Look at Otto Porter, hadnt done shit for almost 3 years; they were talking about trading him; look at how hes playing now; what about Seth Curry; there are many more I could name; some players develop into good/great players; others develop into serviceable players; it takes time!!!!! thats why alot of these GMs suck because they cant see beyond their own ass; time is a virtue!!!!!!

and those were players of the top of my head; im sure if I researched and/or thought about it more, I could name many more...

By the way, I think Porter is the key to the Wizards; He continues to play well and develop, they gonna be tough to beat; they need to add to their bench though; I like watching them play sometimes; Wall just holds the ball and dribbles to fucking much :giggle:; I think they have the 2nd best starting unit in the east though....

None of those players are chauncey billups level and none of them if I recall were top 10 picks tho. Its happened where players have unexpectedly played well... But mudiay is top 10 pick and chauncey was 3rd... List 2nd year bums in THAT context who came in with high draft pick expectations and were bums the first 2 years and ended up on chaunceys level tho? :D

Now THAT Dude fits the narrative... Dont think he was as bad as Mudiay in year 2 but hes surprised the hell out of some people and needs to get with a PG first PG and then look out!

Lowry not on billiups level, Leonard not on bulliups level:hmm:; come on dude; you @RoadRage now....Leonard was drafted 15, Otto was drafted 3rd overall, CJ was drafted 10th; bro I see what you are doing stop it now....

Porter is getting better; I think he can fit with Wall and Beal; they need to share the ball more though; but trust me dude, they were thinking he was a complete bust....remember wasnt they trying to keep Pierce and get rid of Porter??

CJ was 10 and won MIP in his third season

Tristan Thompson developed nicely after two medicore first seasons being drafted at 4

Russell fundamentally is more sound Karma and even with his sporadic breakdowns he's been far more productive.

Idk. Russell has the green light with the offense they run in LA (akin to the Warriors) so his numbers IMO are a reflection of that. The fact he's not on the court at the end of games is more telling to me.

Dude... I said top 10 draft picks who were mudiay level busts in year 2 and became chauncey level players and u start off with a 15 and a 24? I never said players cant improve... You said there were plenty of top 10 year 2 busts who hecame chauncey level player and youve only named 1 who marfinally qualifies and that CJ, who has had maybe 70 games where hes balled out.. Jury is still out on him tho...
