Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

It is very simple and we spoke about this before. When shots are not falling and the offense is stagnant just run the pick and roll with Curry and Durant.
not even about the shots falling
they're not getting good shots cause they're not running the offense.
shots will fall if its a good shot.
dribbling behind your back while everyone is watching and hoisting it from deep and nobody is in position to rebound the ball is not a good shot
really simple.

'

Listen. you can't tell me what they were doing when I know this team way better than you.
They relaxed and got lazy and stopped running the offense in favor of playing hero ball
that's really all there is to it.
No the Cavs play lazy you can see it vs bad teams then they turn it on when the game gets close. When ever a team ties the game then blows you out in O.T. that is symptomatic of being burnt out.
Remember when the Warriors defeated the short handed Cavs team, and how every game the Cavs was winning until the 4th and then they couldn't do shit? Well same thing.

Well if their 2nd unit is that sloppy they are in real trouble, because Irving wears out Curry, and LeBron wears out Durant, they cannot shorten the bench vs the Cavs when they shorten the bench because the Cavs players are way too physical and athletic to expect the slight Curry and Durant to match them for mins while playing a physical game.

It isn't that sloppy. It was sloppy tonight. Stop trying to extrapolate ways the cavs will beat them.
They were sloppy tonight the coach needed to stop it and he didn't
when they played the right way they beat people
when they ease up and stop doing the simple things that work they lose. not rocket science and there's nothing any team can do about it point blank period.

Man you ever play 21 or Utah and have a big ass lead on everyone then get tired (note there is no bench to bail you out) and after that you cannot even hit the foul shots.

That's your problem bills. Why is Kerr only running the "offense"

You have two League MVP's on the same team. Tell everyone to move the fuck out the way and run the Curry and Durant pick and roll.

Being tired makes you sloppy, slow, and as the result you tent to try to take short cuts, like dumb jump shots. I ought to know, I've been down that road a few times.

the niggas just won by 1 point on christmas because iggy gift wrapped you the game with his play lol

Check the games again, all exept one the Cavs was winning, Lebron goes on the bench to start the 4th and the Warriors go for a run causing LeBron to come off the bench early, meanwhile they put both A. I. and Green on LeBron wearing him down even more and it was a wrap.

I told cats that losing Bogut & Ezeli will end up hurting the Warriors a little bit. Kerr will have to actually coach this year especially on the defensive side.
:hmm::smh:.. You do realize Festus hasnt played the entire year because of his knees; oh wait a minute, he just had surgery on them and is out the indefinitely; You also do realize that Bogut has been hurt the entire season as well and has barely played; Man I swear some of you just say anything....

never happened.
Dude you actually think I am making this shit up.:smh:

Managing Long-Term Player Fatigue, by Thomas Emma
From the Coach’s Clipboard Basketball Playbook, @ http://www.coachesclipboard.net

Tom Emma was a graduate of Duke University, where he was a three-year basketball starter and captain his senior year, and was later drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1983. He held a Masters degree from Columbia University, and specialized in sports conditioning. He was the owner of Power Performance, Inc. and published several books, including "101 Strength and Conditioning Exercises & Drills for Basketball", "Peak Conditioning Training for Basketball" and "Peak Conditioning Training for Young Athletes".

Tom also authored several other articles on this web-site. I appreciate this excellent article that Tom has contributed to the web-site. Sadly (after the original posting of this article), Tom died on June 8, 2011... Coach Gels.
One of the most important (and difficult) aspects of a basketball coach's job is managing long-term player fatigue. This type of fatigue, unlike being winded during a game or practice session, describes the cumulative effects of a basketball season on a player's body. It is a subtle performance inhibitor, hard to recognize by even the most discerning of eyes, and is inevitably debilitating to individual and team success.

Ascertaining how a player feels physically at a given point in time over the course of a long, grueling basketball season is far from an exact science. In fact, it qualifies much more as an art, requiring coaches to develop an intuitive feel for players' physical capabilities and recovery needs.

And to make matters more complicated, every player is distinctly unique when it comes to recovery requirements; some recover quickly from even the most intense physical demands, while others need substantial rest periods to be ready to go at 100% capacity after hard exertion. Most are somewhere in-between this broad continuum.

Once coaches become comfortable with their players' physical tolerance levels they must then proceed to act accordingly. Unfortunately, what it is to act accordingly isn't always so clear-cut. For instance, one way to assuage an overly tired and worn down player is to cut his or her playing time. But what if an important game with post-season ramifications is in the balance and said player is your leading scorer or rebounder?

Bench time for the player may help avoid long-term fatigue down the road, but will it help win the game today? This scenario illustrates just how complicated dealing with long-term player fatigue is. Do everything to win the game? Or rest the player for future battles? Tough choice to say the least.

Despite the challenges, long-term player fatigue can be dealt with effectively and often avoided all together, by employing a series of proven strategies. Below, after the major warning signs of long-term player fatigue are listed, these strategies are explained in detail.

Warning Signs of Long-Term Player Fatigue
  • Consistently short on shots.
  • Late game performance meltdowns
  • Substantially lower free throw percentage, especially late in games
  • Missed defensive assignments due to lack of concentration
  • Laboring up and down court
  • Regularly asking out of games
  • Lack of enthusiasm for practices and conditioning workouts
  • Preponderance of minor injuries
  • Complaints of excess soreness in muscles and joints
  • Noticeable loss in weight room strength (keep in mind, it’s normal to lose some strength during the basketball season)
  • Insomnia

Early Recognition
The first and most crucial step in preventing long-term fatigue among players is early recognition. Once long-term fatigue sets in, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to shake without extensive rest, which as we all know, is a luxury not afforded to players during the busy basketball season.

As such, it is imperative for coaches to be hyper-vigilant in watching for signs of long-term fatigue in players (see signs above). As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Recognizing the symptoms of long-term fatigue early will allow coaches to respond before the problem becomes chronic.

To not use two league MVPs down the stretch is flat out crazy. The Durant and Curry pick and roll would close niggas out every single time.

They need a backup PG and another big. GM LeBron gon have to make another deal. Korver aint enough.
A extra PG is a luxury because the only team they have to worry about are the Warriors and vs them they will shorten the bench forcing them to shorten their bench to match, and to me I am riding with Irving vs Curry in a marathon as far as Thompson goes they will have 4 guys to throw on him.
They need a big, not so much for the Warriors but vs the bigger teams and just in case of injury.

Why is Kerr treating the league MVPs like role players?

It coming...Mo, Mike and 2019 1st rd getting shipped to Atl for Kyle which leave room for that pg. Moving Mo, makes me think they don't have to use the trade exception they have already.

Also watch Birdman contract, it might get moved also.

Man i love watching dude play when he's not on that bullshit

Green and Thompson has the best stamina on the team, one they understand this and make adjustments they should be a better team and should be able to beat a team like Memphis.

Man, you keep saying that shit. Can KD even set a convincing, thorough pick on the perimeter? Shit isn't that simple.:smh:
Kerr refuses to run it. When they have Curry and Durant feasted. It is almost an unstoppable play. You have flash and trap Curry on the pick and roll leaving Durant to roll or pop out for the open jumper.

They have 4 but only two guards him, while 3...
JR, Shump and Kyrie when he's not on cheatcode or Iggy

That's why I fucks with Draymond his IQ is off the charts.. he chewed KD out and KD had to respect it..

KD called Green for an ISO only for KD to take a 3 with 20 secs left on the clock

Green was trying to get the ball back to start the mismatch of a big on Curry to run the same play curry did on Gasol

I would rotate Shump, JR, Liggins and even Korver on him and have them go all out for ten mins then replace with the next guy. Now if they want to play him for 40 mins vs fresh guys who can score and play defense, good luck with that.
As far as Curry I would temp them to play him as much as possible and as soon as Livingston comes in I would put in Liggins or Shump on him.
The Cavs goal should be to beat them up and wear them down and once they slow down kill them in the paint with James and Irving.

I don't believe you. Prove it.

Yea that's kool but Krover ain't even made r there yet and once jr comes back Liggins minute will decrease a bit unless Lue do the correct thing and play 10 deep.

I would just rotate to force the Warriors to either dig into their bench or risk being worn out by fresher players.. Plus they all play similar so its not like having Liggins in there is that much different from Shump..
The only thing is if one of them gets hot, I would ride their hand forcing Thompson to play a fresh hot player, this way he wont be able to switch off and play Irving..
And if you make Curry play two ways, he wears down and becomes ineffective.
