Discussion: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - confirmed Sam Raimi directing UPDATE: REVIEWS!

Man that shit was glorious on 3 different levels

Visually stunning

Good story and build up

Excellent set up for future projects .

Spoiler alert

Now IMO none of that compares to the use of the time gem/eye of agamotto.

That, once again was brilliant use of a mcguffin to move the story along.

AND using the plot of one of my favorite episodes of STNG in his face off against Dormammu was sweet geek gasm :jackoff:

I love the way marvel uses the infinity gems not just as a mcguffin but now an integral character.

We went from seeing the base uses of the gems with the tesaract and scepter to a more nuanced power of the aether or realty gem. The orb/power gem stayed true to its uses in the comic's.

But starting with civil war a new aspect was introduced, the fact that the gems may have a form of sentience!

Vision tells us he doesn't know what the mind gem is but can feel it communicating with him. But still we only saw vision use its base power.

With the fucking time gem/eye of agamotto we finally see a deeper level of the infinty gems explored. The way he was creating the time bubbles and using it to go back in a localized fashion and recreate the lost pages of the book

But the greatest feet of this movie is removing the teather to this universe/dimension.

The way DR S was astro projecting was sweet as hell and IMO showed a glimpse of the possible effects and scale we will see in Infinity war.

I said it before and I'll say it again all these movies in the MCU are like chapters in a great novel!

Incredible film. Just impressive as hell on all points. One of the best scripts and visually just amazing.

Also very creative how they handled his cloak of levitation, magic in general, and the Eye of Agamotto.

...I wonder if those guys (you know who I'm talking about) became "mindless ones?"

Minus whale have the time TV spot here

THIS has me thinking. Not really a spoiler but folks seemed confused that Strange picked up his skills so fast but I thought years passed and that time was still while he was training. Like in Inception when days were actually years, I dunno why I think that.

Same thing with the Star Wars movies, the passage of time isn't clear but thinking about traveling around a galaxy I just assumed it was weeks maybe even months that passed for each film. I thought the same thing here for this flick but I might be wrong.

I saw the movie. Folks, this movie is awful.

Thats' funny. Fam, what movie did you watch?

Easily the most visually dynamic film that Marvel studios has produced thus far. It's a cinematic acid trip.

I thought years went by too. That and the fact he's extremely smart and has a photographic memory

I would think about a year went by. But since he has photographic memory and insane work ethic he excelled more than others.

He also spent "who knows how long" in that "other place." I'd think he seriously refined his skills trying to... well, trying to... well... just trying.

Very Good Movie; Marvel and Disney stay winning; and I think if they can continue to tell unique stories and continue to get good actors/directors they will stay winning; Movie about to do 85mill first week domestically in November; thats gotta be huge for an origin movie; @Jay-Vill what you think bro???

I think they kind of hinted at it being more than just memory and work ethic, and that it was something else about him.

In relation to the MCU in general this seems to take place right after civil war, but shield was talking about keeping an eye on him in winter soldier.

I'm guessing there's more to it

Marvel continues to kill it in the casting department. Everyone nailed their role, especially Cumberbatch. Tilda Swinton was pretty bad ass as The Ancient One.

The Eye of Agamotto being an infinity stone was genius.

Loved the post credit scenes, especially the first one and the giant beer mug that Strange kept re-filling. lol

Last, but not least: The cloak of levitation needs its own movie. It was damn near a character all on its own! LMAO!!

I'm hear to bargain!! This movie was awesome. I am not an comic book reader and never have been so I don't have all the preconceived ideas or expectations when i go see a marvel movie. However what I have found is that Marvel movies with the least expectations turn out to be the best to me. I am in the crowd of those whom believe Guardians of the Galaxy was the best Marvel movie thus far and now Strange is number two. I prefer the marvel movies that are untethered from earth and the bullshit shenanigans of everyday humans.

Marvel has created one of the greatest lead up to a conclusion in cinema history. Thanos will have to be the baddest and most ruthless muthafucka we will ever see on the big screen and I can't wait until he start kill avengers because some of them will have to die. Starting with him ripping that stone out vision head. Iron man, captain America , black panther, and all other avengers we have seen thus far except Thor and GOG are tethered to the earth most have yet to leave the planet. I would prefer the final battle to not take place on earth being that only two of the Infiniti stones are on earth.

Great Movie. I've always loved stories about heroes who's powers were more than just physical. I.e., Doc strange and Green Lantern. Such characters have to get a good story bcuz there is a mental aspect to it. Marvel hit it out of the park with this one. Flawless execution Perfect mix of the physical and spiritual aspects of the story.
The build to Infinity War has been so good that movie will probably be the biggest grossing movie of all time.

its does spoiler alert! right before doctor strange's car accident , he was driving and talking on the phone about potential clients, and the person he was talking to said a marine col. with partial paralysis from using experimental armor and he passed on it for fear of messing up his flawless records in operations.

I just read another article where the director said that scene was not a reference to Rhodes, nor the pilot from Iron Man 2 who got jacked up from that HammerTech suit. Initially, I thought they were referring to Rhodes as well.

i thought it was just ok also...good...not great...

i`m going to see it again on an off day in 3D IMAX...

It was a great movie. And just like I thought the movie is basically showing you what they taught in the Ancient Egyptian Mystery Schools. And all that stuff can really be done with years of training .

I enjoyed it. Great acting, the story felt a little rushed, but everything was explained well. Both end credit scenes were great.

i spent the whole movie trying to figure out where i had seen that other doctor (the one that fucked him up). Finally came to me that he was in Boardwalk Empire as Al Rothstein.

Gonna be interesting to see how they handle the next villain.

The visuals were like Inception but on steroids....I was watching the movie and instantly thought "YOU CANNOT WATCH THIS MOVIE HIGH!!!".............Great movie BTW

man, me and my lady watched it last night I was telling her i want to watch it again after eating a weed brownie, she was saying she doubts we could handle doing that.
