Then you know less about boxing that you thought you did..because he has fought more notable names than just those two you mentionedHe fought Kelley and it was no cake walk for Naseem. Always liked Kelley, but by the time Hamed came over to the states to fight him, Kelley was already shot and been in many wars. HBO hand picked Kelley thinking it would be an easy fight for their new star.
I consider myself a boxing head, and I can name only two known fighters the man fought, Marco Antonio Barrera and Kevin Kelly.
the Joe Calzaghe of Bantam to featherweights..He's the Joe Calzaghe of Bantam to featherweights
That was a wild ass fight. He had a good run but fought nobodies.....he did put it on Kevin Kelly though......but most of his comp were bums.

He was entertaining, lightning fast and could strike from awkward angles...
But he fought bums mostly.

I liked Prince Naseem. He had power and fought unorthodox. That said, he fought bums.
I could understand ducking him. He was a risky fighter to fight in that his style was so unorthodox and he had the Power to KO anybody. His antics often got in fighters heads and they would relax and give him opportunities. And for the record Morales AND Marco BOTH ducked the prince/turned down the fight more than once when offered to fight Prince Naseem for a good while in the beginning...then finally Marco B took the fight and beat him.
Extremely unorthodox fighter with fast hands that had a lot of power...as mentioned before he beat Kevin Kelly so it wasnt all bums...started being trained by Emanuel Steward which most now feel was a mistake because he made him a bit more orthodox which took away his main strength...was humiliated by Barrera...overall, he was "okay"...real deal? nah but he wasn't a bum

He had flaws yes but he most def COULD fight... and did beat some decent fights and or former champions like Boom Boom Johnson NOT a bum,Augie Sanchez was 27- 1 with 23 KO's NOT a bum,Kevin Kelly NOT a bum,Wilfredo Vázquez NOT a bum and Wayne McCullough def NOT a bum of whom at the time was in his prime 21 wins 1 loss and 14 KO's and Wayne was NO bum..s in the words of Roy Jones Jr.."Y'all Musta Forgot"
Prince Naseem ALSO beat Cesar Soto who was the WBC champ at the time I believe..and Cesar Soto beat Jose Luis Castillo by KO when he was 18-0 with 17 KO's
FOH......that dude was classic HBO hype.....
And during that time there were a few boxers that were nothing but HBO hype
the Joe Calzaghe of Bantam to featherweights..![]()
ive seen this mentioned a few times as the real reason for his decline, cant remmeber the video of this other trainer talking about it on a telephone interview
started LOSING? ? Really is that how you remember it..I think this is BS. Steward is recognized as one of the best trainers ever and his past trainer never had another successful fighter. He won 3 straight under Steward. The real issue was that eventually Naseem had to step up his competition and that is when he started losing. With his old trainer he was KOing bums without putting in much work. As a matter of fact, Steward stopped training him because he didn't want top put any work in. I think alot of the Trainer talk is a lil racial. As I said, Steward(brutha) is one of the best trainers ever and his old trainer (white) never trained another decent fighter.Naseem was fighting scrubs so of course he looked better than when he fought some actual contenders.

Yeah I can't deny Kelly, but he kinda roped him put of his game that night. He had a good run but fought nobodies.....he did put it on Kevin Kelly though......but most of his comp were bums.
had talent... was entertaining... but not quite as much talent as he thought.
mufucka had a delux Choppa suit
Calzaghe was technically a very good fighter, Hamed wasn't. Hamed was very fast and very strong for his weight, that's how he won fights. He's the Joe Calzaghe of Bantam to featherweights
